Style vs Vagueness

First of all I love the style of the game, The style of the game come in dated with the amazing game play and The significance of progress which is provided at the right time would be a five star review, right? But the one little thing that can mess up some people is the vagueness of this game, the thing is it has no text and some of the things you might buy in the shop you could not know what they do and you could get mad about it or if you go into the park to the left of your main town you may not understand what it means by advertising it’s other games or when it shows you that if you buy something from the store it will delete ads but the no text of the game plays along with the style but this is not a negative comment. I am just saying that if you put a little bit more, let’s say... story to the game it could bring in more people to want to know what the story was of the game that they used to play then got bored of because they didn’t know what to do because it was getting too hard or they had buy something with gems. But remember, this is not a hate comment, it is more of a recommendation comment. So please consider what does took a very long time to type up on my tiny phone, thanks!

A bloody great pixelated fighting game

I have no idea why people are complaining about this game. Then again, people have their opinions and may not like many things! Although, I am really enjoying this game. I think I am almost done fully upgrading my buildings! Then again, I have all of this land that I have to regain back for the city. Would be nice if there was a daily bonus system, though. Not really asking for gems/diamonds or anything, cause the original character is pretty good by himself. Although, no buffs or debuffs or anything, since you can already get some of that in the laboratory (if that building is even called that.) Still a bit confused about a few mechanics in this game, but this is part of what makes it awesome! Maybe add a progress bar of how much I have completed from the whole game? In general, I would like to see things more understandable. Aside from that, this is an extraordinary fighting game worth trying out! Also, thank you SHIMADA TOSHIHIRO for your hard work. Would love to see some new stuff added to this game soon!

Just finished the game and it's awesome!!!

I would love to play a sequel if one is ever made. As others have mentioned there is no text but the game shows you little animations of what the upgrade you are unlocking will do. I'm glad it's not one of those endless games that never end because eventually with time I get tired of the same thing and delete it anyway. The game is lengthly enough and gradually builds up on challenges. The key is to remember not to disregard the importance of figuring out how to time the simple one tap counter. Timing is the key and after several battles it becomes second nature. Don't expect to get more diamonds than 45 for free, though you don't really need diamonds unless you want to purchase different characters with added bonus abilities or different powers, but honestly with such a large move set you won't really need it. I personally like the character you start the game with as with most games it's more fun to see the main character evolve and become stronger with time.

Solid fun. Just don’t mind the head scratching. And I love the protag :)

Combat is simple but feels rewarding. There’s a lot of charm in the game from its animations and how it doesn’t use text for its menus or to explain anything.

Which can be a real barrier.

As charming as it is to have a town as the menu, I lamented not being able to change the music volume (since I was trying to listen to a call and play at the same time) until I noticed a little arrow on the road which took me to the “Options menu”. Instruction videos can take awhile to decode at first and experimenting to learn what they mean.

But that does give it an old school charm; you got to mess with everything if you want to understand everything. So if you’re used to that, go for it.

On a miscellaneous note, I really like the protagonist. Most beat-em ups have jocky or selfish protags but this one feels like he’s being just a good guy. Normally when you pay someone to repair something, the protag sits back and lets the builder do the work. “I did my job in earning enough money/materials. Now it’s time to do YOUR job.” Instead, this protag is working alongside the builder to repair buildings. They both do a victory dance after fixing it. And when someone thankfully gives you a gift for repairing their building, it feels like he earned it. In the beginning he even helps repair the car that crashed into his house and gives it to someone. It’s these small things that just make me really like this dude.

LOVE THE DESIGN but...

This game is by far my favorite!! It has a simple feel to it and easy nature! The only thing it’s lacking is context. There needs to be more indications of what is what and how to perform actions. Such as the symbols found when analyzing an enemy. As well as this, there should be more ways to earn diamonds rather than buying. There’s absolutely no way for an individual to gain access to the “special” items and characters without purchasing with actual money. It would be amazing if there was a way to earn diamonds easily and not a rip off way of earning diamonds. For example, if implemented, earning diamonds should be simple, easy to obtain enough gems to purchase the special items. If unable at least lower prices for say the 6000 gems should NOT cost $40. That is overpricing for such a simple game. Thank you so much for listening and thank you for bringing us this game, but do consider this.!

A good time killer.

This is a good pick up and play game. If you’re bored on the subway, pick up your phone and load up this app. The combat is fluid, the timing never makes it feel like missing a block isn’t your fault, and the hub world is amazing. That being said- at the end of the fourth city, there is a boss which cannot be defeated by normal combos or moves; you need one of the premium combos to actually viably be able to beat him. This brings us the game’s central problem: Gems. The game gives you 20 gems to start off with, and from there you can only get 25 gems total from downloading the devs’ other games or leaving a review like this one here. The weakest premium combo is 100 gems; and seeing as these are the only ways to get gems, you will have to pay once you get far enough in the game. Please, Devs, fix this flaw in an otherwise amazing game- I understand you need to make money but you could at least have a way to afford even the weakest combo without those of use without having to pay. Thanks.

Simplistic gameplay gives satisfying combos

The combos are extremely satisfying and fun to perform. But without daily videos or ads to obtain a couple of gems a day there is clearly a paywall to obtain access to some of the most fun combos. Something that I believe shouldn't prevent players from gradually collecting enough gems to unlock. Ads and videos for premium currency have already proven lucrative enough that is has been used in many big app games and I suggest it be implemented here as I doubt anyone would be willing to pay 5 to 34 dollars for a lot of flashy combos. However, with that being said this game is extremely well done and to be a free game I'm genuinely surprised. This game is easily worth $2.99 so good value on the developers part and they do have to make money somehow so I can also understand the many premium characters and combos. However I still stand by the idea that a way to obtain premium currency such as by beating bosses or watching videos would be incredibly well received. Best of wishes to the developers.

Must review

I was playing this, it asked me to review, yada yada. Anyway, I read one review from a.. glaaaaaarb or something, and he said... the energy system is horrible, and should be completely removed... and I was like... why would they do that? I can only imagine how much work went into this game, and the only way that they can make money from that hard work is to install a system into the game that limits playability/makes it less fun, OR they could have done what they should have, and NOT made this game free at all, because it really is an astounding game, and I think they are being extremely generous to us. But, shockingly, they still only put in a pay to fully play option so that they can make a profit.. I just don't understand the whining about a system that they need in their game to... just what?! Stop whining, people, this game is amazing and I'm in love with it! Haha, great game guys.

Fantastic addicting game.

This is quite possibly the best mobile game I've played. The graphics are great, the upgrade and level system is robust very involved. The combat is incredibly satisfying and fun.
My one problem I have so far is the Ice and Fire combos. They're the only ones that I can't string together multiple times. I currently have 12 attacks and the double magic combos for every element. I can do two double magic combos for everything EXCEPT fire and ice. It simply doesn't work for them and its very frustrating. It acted the same way when I had only single magic combos and 10 attacks, and I'm sure it will still work that way when I get my triple magic combos and 14 attacks. I just really wish I could maximize my fire and ice damage against enemies weak to it like I can maximize with every other element. Please fix this bug. Other than that, I'm in love with it.

Great game/but buyer beware!

I'll start by saying the game is beyond awesome. Combo system is A ton of fun and there's endless hours of unlockables to obtain and work towards. However, all of this is marred by the fact that after I spent 70$ worth of IAPs to unlock everything else premium and have some gems on hand, my phone broke so I had to get a new one. There is no way to restore your purchases, leaving me having to start the game over, which I didn't mind bc it ls fun and playing again isn't a chore. But not getting all my purchases again is unacceptable in today's market. It's not that difficult to make your game connect to some platform that would protect your progress and $ spent. It's a slap in the face for the people who actually are spending some money to support you.....so thanks for the game, and screw you for ripping me off....

It's actually really good, honestly.

Yeah, the gas may be a bit long to regenerate, the gems might be only pay for, and the 20 gems you do get barely get you anything. But that's not why I'm here. This is a great game. A bit confusing at first, but when you put time and effort into it, you enjoy it more and more. It might not be the best game you'll get, but it's definitely fighting for the spotlight. The unlockable combos, the Street Fighter style car minigame, the food system, and the combat itself make this game something you keep on your phone.
Four stars for a great game?
...it's the gas system mostly. It's 15 minutes long for a single unit of gas. Gems are almost completely nonexistent without paying money, and there's no way to buy coins or earn free coins without using gas. At least coins aren't scarce. There's many a ways to get coins and upgrades only take a few good runs to gather the money for them.

Good game!

This game is probably one of my favorite games on my phone. It has a simple catch of 2 buttons with different combos, along with weaknesses among the enemies. The game is not just a living ad, unlike Mobile Strike, and has some effort. All I have to say about this negatively is that there's not much of an accomplishment for building cities rather than just a huge amount of coins. It would be really cool if there was different buildings in each city and benefit for the player. Overall, this is a very classic good game. I want to see more updates. 👍🏻

And also, gems are literally the hardest thing to get in the game. No joke. I spent my gems on like the energy and lost it all from there. Now I have to spend my money on it. Could you make it so that enemies can occasionally drop gems or at least a daily reward that earns you some? Thanks! Still probably the best mobile game I've played 👏🏻🙌🏻

Really addicting, satisfying, and fun gamd

This game is probably one of the most fun and addicting games I've played on mobile in a while that is so simple but complex in a way at the same time. I've seen some reviews stating that the cool moves are hidden behind pay walls however this is not true if you want you can pay to get them early however as you progress and upgrade the dojo you unlock the ability to learn these moves using gold. I feel that this is a really well done f2p game though would be nice to get gems somehow maybe through strong bosses or challenge zones to be able to unlock the different characters because those seem to be the only thing stuck behind a pay wall, however other then that the game is really good, good job developers.

Great game but...

Ok I must say it's the best fighting game I've seen but the gas. I was browsing PPKP Store and saw this. I watched the video and downloaded it because I like fighting games. So most good fighting games like injustice iOS have energy systems. I have always hated them and thought this one wouldn't have one. Well it did. I have been looking for a good fighting game besides street fighter that doesn't have a energy system. Now I like fighting games that you can just play until u die and then just keep going without having to wait for a energy system to recharge. Kinda like street fighter. But what I don't like about street fighter is you can't get upgrades and there are no missions and there is no point to the game and it gets boring very fast. And also you start out with every character and you don't have to achieve them. So I saw this game and was disappointed when I saw the energy system or gas. Please take this out.

Repetitive, but fun, so it’s good.

It’s a great game, not gonna lie, unlike most people (probably), I wasn’t really confused on what to do next, it seemed pretty clear that you just have to fix everything (obviously taking a lot of time to do so), just interact with the area provided and you’ll find everything you need. Gameplay WAS fun, but early on you’ll quickly feel the repetitiveness that will last for pretty much the whole game, very systematic: beat monsters up with the moves you bought, get cash, keep going till you lose, replenish health/gain experience, possibly get building materials, then at some point, buy all the items from a building to upgrade said building, then repeat until you got everything.

By

Nice game but Disappointing

The game started out fun but is sooo short that the repetitiveness of the bosses and scenes turned me off. You can clean up the entire city but need so much more gold to advance your techniques yet the only way to get that gold is to play the same levels forever. Also, there are a set of characters that you can only get by paying for them??? There are jewels in the game and you can get like 50 free but the characters all cost 100 and up. No matter how much you play you can never get those characters. Also, If you spend money on PPKP and delete PPKP or get a new phone, you lose all progress and any money you spent on PPKP is pretty much thrown away. Last but not least there are ads all over the place interfering with the experience of the game. Game was good, with flaws that could have been fixed, but weren't... only additions to the game made it a worse experience.

(PLEASE READ) Game-breaking glitch

I found a game-breaking glitch.
Not sure what causes it, but it’s happened twice now. On the bottom right level of the right side of the city map with the pink rhino boss, I fight my way through level as normal and then beat the boss. As soon as he explodes the game freezes. I keep all the money and car refill I get from the level after closing out the game completely and opening the game again. I also have the same amount of health. It doesn’t ever register that the boss is beaten, and currently I can’t progress to the next level.

If you respond you can ask for any other specs you might want to investigate

Amazing game

This game is actually one of the better iOS games I have played in a long time it will be confusing for most in the beginning but with a little time you will figure it all out. Granted while this is one of the better iOS games I have played there are some problems
1) Gas, oh gas the fabled thing you need to play. The wait time for 1 canister of gas is 15 minutes and you have 5 to fill up but that isn't really a problem
2) Gems, oh Gems. You only start out with a measly 20 and can gain 10 more when you write a rating (hence why I am doing this) but while you need to buy gems to get anything substantial you don't feel like you need them to play
3) This isn't a criticism about the game just a common gripe I see in the ratings. I see people complaining about the cash system and I don't really know why all it will take is a few runs and proper inputs to net you the amount you need

So I do love this game and don't let the 1 actual point, and the 2 small gripes from others, I put forward discourage you this would be a 5 star game if not for the hour and 15 minute wait to get a full thing of gas but yes I recommend this game and if I could give it a 4.75 I would.

Good but…

Honestly, this game is great. Easy to play, not shoving ads in your face, and all around fun. However,I do have one complaint, gems. In every app to ever exist on PPKP Store, there is always a second currency, and sometimes that’s great(like in Pixel Gun where you can get them without paying, but it’s a bit difficult to stockpile). However, gems in this game are PAY ONLY(from where I am that is). I really want to play as other characters, but I just can’t because I cannot get gems. Now if the devs add a second price for characters(like 40 gems for one character, but you can also get them with 1000 coins)this would work and honesty, this game would be a hell a lot better, not to say I dislike the game but…I want verity in my characters. Anyway, that’s all. Good game overall.

Requires $40+ to really be able to enjoy full game.

What happened to the days where you could just outright pay for a game upfront and get the whole game? This game is great until you realize that in order to be able to enjoy the whole game you need 6,840 gems which equates to $40+! Either let us, the players earn gems slowly, or at least allow us to buy the game upfront for $4.99 or something and have access to all the content. By creating the gem paywall you have basically guaranteed that you will not see a single penny from me. I would pay $4.99 for this game but paying that for gems would mean I still wouldn’t have access to all the content in the game. Therefore, instead I am not going to pay anything and will uninstall the game. Good job destroying what otherwise would have been a great game.

Amazing Game

This game is awesome. It is so simple and fun, yet the more you strategize, the more challenging (in a good way) the game is. I would only change a couple of things about this game.

1. The game could be a little less vague considering things like, In the beginning, I couldn’t figure out that when I clicked a button to block attacks, it wouldn’t block them like usual. I finally realized that when the enemies go in for a hit, their eyes shine either orange or blue. So, when you see their eyes shine either of the colors, you’ve got to click the button of that same color to block the attack. Also, when buying things in a shop, the game will not give you a description of that item, which could easily result in you buying something you may not have wanted.

2. Gas is an important part of the game, because it is the only way you can get to enemies to fight. The problem is that you only have 5 gas containers for your car which you can only use each once. As soon as you run out of gas containers, you can either wait about a half hour for each container, (2 and a half hours for all five) or pay thirty gems for a full refill of all 5. (Paid currency!)

Other than those things, this game is a great one for anyone to play. Once you figure out all of the things you can do in it, and find something to do while waiting for gas, your all set to Punch Punch Kick Punch your enemies!
