So as the story goes, I score the opener, tearing my opponent to pieces, It looks like an early win is to be and an easy promotion back to the division I truly belong in, BUT... as I send a beautiful ball across to my striker in front of the open goal, my opponent decided he's had enough, so he quits. At this moment as this game disconnects, I felt like Stewie Griffin, victory was mine, BUT... the game awards my impatient opponent the win. At this time I am somewhat irritated but not bothered as I know I can just win and get promoted, BUT... I look in the corner, I am in fact TWO games behind promotion AND i suddenly go on a run of bad form in which uncontrollable errors happen such as players running the ball out, whiffing clearances and conceding winning goals etc. All this because my opponent quit and somehow won, but as far as I'm concerned quitting automatically grants that who does not quit the big fat dub, SO WHERE IS MY BIG FAT DUB?! I demand a refund for this completely free game, I also demand to know why you think a referee hurting his knee merrits the team that is 1-0 down getting the fat dub you tyrants...

A disgrunted loser overreacting to an app on his phone

So this is written on Nov 3rd 2019. One of the recent updates is the change by having multiple attempts to win those weekend challenge cups. Each attempt is at least 100 gems (and sometimes 200 or more gems). Ever since that update, never have I ever won on the first two attempts. I had more than 4000 gems and now less than 50. The bots, irrespective of the level, always find ways to defeat you.

Try observing this when you’re playing against an equal leveled or one-level-below opponent, especially in these challenges and tournaments. When you manage to score the first goal, there is literally no way your defense will manage to stop the opponent scoring the equalizer. They always find ways to have 3+ strikers in front of the goal after I score my first goal. Believe me I tried with so many combinations and trying different players in different positions. AND my team happens to do comparatively well in the Arena. It’s these challenges and cups where they opportunity to mint money.

You get frustrated and keep re-attempting and eventually use up all your gems. Finally, you’re tempted to buy gems. Never do that. They have their share of advertisements and this update shows their greediness.

So I loved ScoreMatch so very much. I would play it in the morning before starting my day. It was entertaining and fun. I know it is rigged to an extent just because you can’t have level 5 speedsters catching up with my level 9 speedster. Just shouldn’t happen. You can tell in a game when you know the ai is going to be doing a dang good job. When you get a streak going you know it will end at anytime cause they will not let you keep it for very long. Besides it being rigged I did enjoy it and then the fateful day July 24th 2019. I should of never downloaded the update. Why would you limit where I play a match at. I can’t play exhibition matches now and this is just a terrible move for score match. I refuse to buy any gems now and I refuse to play this game as much as before. You should have the option to play where ever you want. If I had 3 wishes from a magic genie one of the wishes would be to go back in time and never download this terrible update. I even wrote and asked why and how do I go back and they responded with an oh well too bad so sad email. Terrible move for such a great game. I wish I could go back and never of downloaded this update.

This game is frustrating. The AI is horrible and unpredictable. Down to 10secs and the opponent scored and my player was running down the right (all the way on the right of the field but aligned with the goalie area) and instead he looks back and gives me the only option of passing back to my defender. Another instance where AI was bad, I passed the ball to my striker but in front of him as I was trying to give him a through ball but he instead jumps like 20 ft and gets the ball. Also the GK on pks is bad. I shoot down the middle sometimes and the opponent picks the spot for his gk to jump (he picked top right) but somehow he saves it down the middle with his toes even tho you can see it hit just air, it’s like there was an invisible wall. Also one more thing, the game is addictive and I get you want people to buy in app purchases but when you don’t have money then there is nothing to do, it’s so easy to lose it all but I have to watch an ad just to get $100. So please make a free mode where people just play for fun. Also sort out the prices, instead of a 100 make it 50 to play because again, it’s really easy to lose it all.

This game should be good. It is made beautifully. It looks and sounds nice and the passes and shots feel good when you complete them. But there are countless frustrating things about this game. As so many have mentioned the AI is terrible on both sides of the ball. Your defense is all based on a tackle button which is random. You should be more in control. Instead you hope the randomness works in your favor. The biggest problem I have with the game is the currency system. If you can stay above .500 you are fine, but if you string together some losses you will get stuck. Playing games costs the currency. So does upgrading your players and unlocking things. There will be a time when you keep losing and you want to upgrade your guys to help you win but you can’t because you don’t have enough of that currency to upgrade( or even play another game). It’s a weird system that is not consumer friendly. Once you reach that point you will either uninstall out of frustration or pay real money. I personally don’t think a company using those tactics deserve my money. There is so much potential with this game, but greed and some odd game mechanics really bring it down for me.

I concur with the latest review on the AI. There is the illusion that you are playing other players but most of the time you are not because nobody wants to play this awful, lopsided match after the first two skill leagues. For example, with players 3-4 levels higher than the opponent, when they slide tackle and take possession from you, the player that committed the slide tackle is able to get back up and steal possession from you EVERY time even if your player doesn’t fall. Try slide tackling the opponent, your player never gets up in time and often never steals possession even on clean successful tackles.

I made in game purchases, what a mistake. I thought it would help me maintain progress through the professional league but lose to team level averages of 1-2 like levels don’t matter. You can easily distinguish the reduced aggressiveness of your offense once you reach professional league. They simply won’t play offense and you are usually outnumbered 3 to 6 in the offensive zone at all times. Needless to say they are attempting to lure you in to purchasing more as you will question whether your player levels are too low. Let me help you all before you make the same mistake, it does not matter one bit. Level 10 player will still lose to a level 2 opponent once you reach professional league.

This game is an underdeveloped quick scam app that is exciting for the first hour or so of gameplay. Inconsistent refereeing, AI, and performance.

This game is rubbish and please don’t waste your time on it. It’s purely another way of a sub-standard developer trying to make money off people by deliberately making people lose. I don’t know where to start. The passing is woeful. The direction lines often mean a player stands there and does nothing or you pass and get tackled straight away. The silly passing arc that appears doesn’t go in the direction you want and often there isn’t an open player there. Same with shots. It’s ludicrous. Then there is speed. It would appear every other player has the fastest defenders. My striker is a speedster but gets beaten by every defender ever. Again silly. Also the connection problems are ridiculous and people have found they can mess with your pressing defender if they have connection problems so games end up taking sometimes 10 minutes. Then there is the days to can’t win. The developer deliberately does this so you lose coins and then magically you get a special offer pop up so you can use your own money to buy more. Not falling for that trick. Basically it’s awful. It’s free and even that feels like a rip off. Update: I write a bad review and then lose 30,000 tokens in a day. These guys are complete butthurt.

Score match is very enjoyable, until you retaliate just how flawed it is. The games works on a basic rule level, if the player falls over its a foul. If you put yourself in a goal scoring opportunity, the game will wither make you turn around for shoot from a distance. Defenders are faster then speedsters, if you are 1 up, you won’t be able to tackle, and your players will just stand next to the ball without kicking it. The mechanics are terrible, and it’s obvious the creators don’t know the first thing about the football. There have been multiple times where a game is far too one sided to come down to skill level. It’s simply scripted. You will find yourself in games which are impossible to win, because every time you give the ball to your winger they will run Into the defender, every time you do a through ball down the middle to your attacker they take the shot from the half way line, and some times they simply turn around. DO NOT PLAY THIS GAME. It’s simply a bad game for what it is trying to do. I loved it at the beginning, and noticed the flaws pretty early, and hoped that the update would come soon after, yet they still haven’t changed anything. It seems like they Simply don’t care about the integrity of the game, and only how much money they make.

I’m there the other day in the 3rd arena with a tram full of levels 1and 2 players, against a team of entirely level 3s and 4s I got solidly beaten. The game isn’t on the level at all when anyone can upgrade their players to the fullest at low levels and just walk through the others at the same level playing the same game. The cups are a joke and a waste of time. You enter and you’re immediately put in with a team that’s 2 levels above you. Of course you’re going to loose that game it’s like a college team playing Barcelona. And answer me this why every time you get a free kick around the opponents box does one of your players always start in a blatantly off side position? No one does that. Half the fouls are obvious red cards. Constantly put in impossible positions with no way out of but to play the ball directly too an opponent. The goalies hold the ball too long. The way you unlock formations is a joke because new formations are apparently something to be “earned”. BS. The commentator saying time for a change of tactics when there’s no way to change tactics in game. This game is garbage and I’m convinced the people at FTG have never watched a soccer game. No matter what you do you’re going to lose to the guy who paid 5$ for the in game purchases. No way around it

This game isn’t even a game. It’s a little 2 minute video that leaves little options that make you think you’re running your team when in fact you have no control. The only control that you have is on offense you can decide in what general direction you want the ball to go and on defense you get a button that says at some point someone on your team will try to tackle the person. I liked it at first but that’s just because it was in my favor since I was a new user but the second I actually started playing consistently I lost every game. At that point you then are just in an endless loop of getting enough daily credits for three games and each of those games is more infuriating than the next. Your players don’t run the way you want, the opposition defense is flawless compared to yours even if yours is higher leveled, and almost all of your tackles end up as penalties in which case you just have to sit there for 15 seconds watching how pointless a defense is when they can’t tackle.

I wouldn’t wish this game on my worst enemy because of the true anger that comes from thinking each day will be the day it turns around. The developers of this game are true spawns of Satan if they believe that this is a fun game and they should fix their issues before even thinking of ever making another game in their lives.

This game is horrible. ew the recent reviews and you will see that anyone who hasn’t been paid by the Dev team to rate this game has the same opinion on this trash af game. The AI has to have a bug or had to be designed by North Korea or something. No matter what your player levels are if the game wants you to lose you will! I’ve been playing the game for about a full year now coming back to it every now and then to see if the dev team finally finished watching a single soccer game. I get my hopes up because this game could be decent at best but they would rather continue to force you to have to spend money to get any sense of satisfaction. I have 6 level 10 players on my team and I frequently play with players either way below my level and I crush them or I play the most OP squad the game has and they just use the long ball glitch to either out run my entire squad or they slide tackle me until I rage quit . I’ve played so many games where I can’t advance the ball past my side of the field without being knee capped for what should be a red card but guess what no red card lucky to get a free kick. You will never get any of the actual good players without spending money FYI and even if you Happen to get one the way you have to level them up insures you spend money. FTG has never watched or played soccer ever! This game will make you want to throw your phone. Don’t download it. I’d rather break my thumbs.

This has been one of my favorite games I have ever played since I love soccer. The only MAJOR huge issue they need to change is making the game fair and equal.

Throughout playing this game you will find a matter of the advantage of the game towards you, or to your opponent. It’s almost like it’s literally programmed like that. One day you’ll go on a big winning streak and then the next day you’ll hit rock bottom. Recently many players in the community are experiencing these issues playing the games and have been sending tickets to the developers. The developers probably realize the issue but are doing almost nothing about it, or brushing it off and just made the game for money. What I believe is the developers can make so much more money if the game actually was fair. Many gamers come and spend money but then will stop because of their luck in the game. With the money received first touch is still doing almost nothing about it, which is very annoying for a game that is really fun when winning but highly annoying when losing to the opponents luck. First touch if you see this review, we need the game fixed and more frequent updates, please fix these issues for your customers!

This game is addictive and has tons of potential but it’s not a game where you can out play your opponent. It seems like it favors certain players. Maybe they’ve put more money into ScoreMatch or whatever but focusing on the plays without being bias, it is obviously that one team will get the ball the majority of the time while the other players team will play like idiots where they’ll chase the ball down and stop, then run again allowing the other team an unfair head start toward the goal. And the consistency of fouls of slide tackles on my end, especially where my slides seem to mostly occur right before my opponent kicks the ball, tripping them after kick creating the foul. However, I’m being slide tackled from the back, side and every direction even while watching the opponent approach from a long distance. Might as well just quit the game because the outcome is inevitable, just lessens the frustration of the BS of the slow process of the loss. Improvements could be that you have to predict which player your opponent will pass the ball to before they pass it in order to gain an advantage of the play. Glad to see there are other soccer games out there.

Slide tackling is a insanely bad option and should be removed or re made to balance it out. It requires no skill, and just makes the game more RNG than it already is. Not to mention defenders being as fast as speedsters, and the defense clipping through my players to get the ball. Game is almost completely relied on luck and isn’t much fun when I can’t completely control the outcome of my game.

I could go all in this big theory I have, but I have a long review already. I wasn’t going to say anything until I saw a lot of people agree. It almost seems like it will let you win u til you win a certain amount of games and make a certain amount of money, and than it will mess up every little thing in each of the upcoming games to set you back down to have to purchase credits or buy an add. It will have you miss all tackles or have your goalie miss all of your opponents shots or have their goalie save all your shots, and your opponents make all tackles. Your players will never be open and there’s will, it’s just so obvious that if it isn’t rigged, it’s extremely weird and I recommend people to try it if you haven’t to see what I mean.

I’m going to start with something positive... I actually really enjoy this game. HOWEVER. I can’t stand trying to play smart and feeling like my players (even my Facebook friends’ players) are playing with a mental handicap or something. There’s no reason for these players to be fumbling around with the ball for a few seconds just to get absurdly slide tackled. With that said, I’m surprised there’s no injuries in this game because the amount of ankle breaking and knee jerking is off the freakin’ charts. I know for a fact the player AI works against you because you can rematch another human player multiple times just to win the first couple matches then lose repeatedly to them or other players from around the globe without ever getting to the opposing half of the field. Without a shadow of a doubt, there is a mechanic that purposely makes you lose so you struggle to advance through the Arenas so you’re almost forced to spend money on better players. But, I’m not spending a freakin’ penny on this game...

tl;dr The game can be really fun to play, but be prepared to get very angry to the point of rage-quitting and complaining about AI defects 🤘🏿🤘🏿🤘🏿

Overall I’d say I enjoy playing the game but one thing that really stands out is the fact that you barely have any control over your players. The only real control you have over them is when you have to the ball and you’re telling them where to pass or shoot it or when you’re defending and you’re selecting the player to attempt a tackle on the opponent with the ball. Anything else your players do is totally unpredictable, which is really frustrating. Sometimes you’d expect your player to get the ball and cross it in but instead they attempt a futile dribble and lose the ball, leaving what little defense you have to deal with the counter attack. Other times, you’re left with a couple defenders and one of them goes in for the tackle but completely mistimes it and slides into empty space but the other defender isn’t even there to support, hopefully making up for a defensive mistake that wasn’t even the player’s fault. Anyways, I’m not saying it’s a bad game but there are a few major gameplay issues.

The base game by itself is pretty fun, simple and intuitive, the progression system is as expected, you unlock “cards” and after a certain amount of cards collected you can upgrade the player or unlock different things. Up to that it’s fairly common phone gameplay, but where it certainly flops is how it’s too obvious that the game is rigged to make you win or make you loose after you win/loose X amount of times. One game your players will be top of the game, will make every tackle and every intervention and make amazing goals, and another they will stare directly at the ball as the enemy team makes their way to score. If you think it’s just gameplay, the other team sometimes is better and you can’t do anything, it’s not like that, looking at the stats you can verify it yourself, there is not a single player that doesn’t has 50/50 win/loose stats, every single player has lost half of their games. I think this has to be fix right away otherwise players will get bored of wining and losing at randomly.

It’s certainly an addictive game, but mostly because it’s so frustrating and seems designed to make you feel like you were sooo close to winning. The AI is brutal - my players will be running and I try to play a thru ball to them but the defense is SO much more reactive. Players never step to the ball on offense. On breakaways they always choose to shoot from outside the box instead of running in a bit farther, and I lose the ball multiple times a game because my players choose to pass when no one is open - doesn’t matter what the player type is. Also had a hilarious PK loss where the opposing player just tapped the ball down the middle and my goalie put his hands up after a moment pauses, lifted his foot, and got megged. It was actually funny but indicative of the serious deficits in AI. The slide tackle function is terrible - it should be a button that you can hold when you want to tackle and then gets recharged over some time once you release or do a tackle. Or you can tackle as much as you want but it happens immediately and the dribblers are better are going around the tackle. Current system is terrible.
Beautiful graphics and animation. Sooo close to a 5/5 but the AI is just too awful to give higher than a 3.

This is a fun game with a really good concept, there are a few frustrating things though. When you advance a league you should get a one time prize or box of cards so that you have a chance to upgrade your players, otherwise it takes forever to upgrade them and then it takes just as long to become competitive in higher leagues. When you go up the leagues quickly your players quickly fall behind and end up being 3-5 levels behind everyone else’s players and it’s impossible to win. Also some of the animations are a little strange and can end up hindering your play. PKs are a huge problem in this game, pretty much anytime there’s a tackle in the box it’s a PK. This isn’t fun for anyone. I also wish there was some more customization for your captain such as new hairstyles, new cleats, and even tattoos. You could put these in boxes or special boxes and would keep people interested, and you could add new things to the game besides players that create a power creep. It seems impossible to get super players, which isn’t entirely a bad thing, but I have 3 accounts 1 in arena 10, 1 in arena 9, and 1 in arena 7, and haven’t gotten a single super player.

Anyways I think these could be huge improvements to the game wich would keep people interested and elevate this game.

I agree with all the other reviews here. The AI is meant to get you hooked to addictive play in the beginning but as you progress if you don’t make purchases you tend to lose and lose obviously to people who spend the money on the game.
I also question if half of the players here are actually human. Seems interesting then at any time that I log on and in different leagues I alway get matched up with a guy that has my exact same level of play, but clearly has a better players, goalie and passes. I’ve tested this theory out and played at different times of the day and at night even at two or three in the morning. Anyways probably going to the delete, or maybe not but definitely not a game worth spending time in until the AI gets fixed to be more competitive and an even playing field.
