I bought BreathingExercisesBreathe . It would be great if I could customize the vibration and sound to be less, the loudness of BreathingExercisesBreathe makes me anxious- but I have no other option but to use it. It’s very abrupt too- it’s not gentle. I also want to be able to have it on in the background- so I don’t have to leave my phone screen on and waste battery every time I use it. I really like what it does- I just want to be able to use it in conjunction with my relax melodies app sounds. That way I can use it on a commute. Please please can you guys add this to an update? It would take it to the next level. I really hope the developers read the reviews.

Very simple, beautiful and effective. Exactly what I was looking for in a (box breathing) app. I like the color variety and the ability to set the prompts to vibrate because I often hold my phone in my hand while breathing. No noise. No distractions. No counting in my head. Reminders and stats are a plus. But the real treasure is its simplicity. BreathingExercisesBreathe lives on my home screen and I use it many times a day.
I updated my review to three stars for a few reasons: there is only one option for sound and that one option has crackling in the audio no matter how high the volume is. It’s not a very pleasant sound at all and can’t be customized. Also, the stats feature is lacking in many areas. It’s basically a bare bones feature. I would like to see some future development on this but I won’t hold my breath.
Finally, an Apple Watch companion. Apple’s own breathe app can’t be set up to do box breathing.

BreathingExercisesBreathe has been very helpful to me, especially since I suffer from fibromyalgia. I often have chest pains that make it difficult and tremendously painful to breathe. This is the only thing that I have found that can make the pain go away and help me breathe normally. It also helps me calm down and breathe when I’m feeling anxious or having a panic attack.
The animation of waves and the vibrations make the breathing routines easy to follow and relaxing.
However, I do wish that BreathingExercisesBreathe allowed me to set more times for BreathingExercisesBreathe to remind me to do a breathing session. Why just 4? Why not unlimited? Also, I wish the notifications made a sound, because simply popping up on my screen is not enough to get my attention.

BreathingExercisesBreathe is fantastic for someone like me who gets very anxious and has difficulty controlling their breathing. However, the ads that pop up really get in the way when i’m having an anxiety attack and BOOM, an ad that you have to wait for pops up. Other than the ads that pop up every few uses, BreathingExercisesBreathe is incredible for breathing exercises. You can manually change how long the breathing seconds are to your comfort, and it’s very helpful. Definitely recommend this to anyone who needs a solid visual breathing exercise.

I love the functionality of BreathingExercisesBreathe. I would like to suggest one additional function: the ability to customize the volume and sound of each part of the breath individually. Right now you can only choose an overall sound template and cannot customize its volume at different parts of the breath, or mix and match different sounds at each part. This addition would add a lot of value to BreathingExercisesBreathe .

Discovered BreathingExercisesBreathe while looking to replace Breathing Zone which just ruined their app with an update. I find Breathe+ has just about everything necessary to develop & maintain a rich breathing practice. You need something simple that provides advanced features as you grow i.e. breathing ratios. Kudos to the developer for a clean, well-designed interface. However, I kindly request the ability to customize the beginning & ending rate of a session. Starting at an anxious 20 bpm - and having BreathingExercisesBreathe slowly guide you down to a calm 7 bpm is a great way to train yourself to deal with stress. Other than an Apple Watch app, there isn’t much else I would need from this simple and powerful app.

This is exactly what I was looking for, and designed exactly how this sort of app should be designed - nice, calming repetition visual cues and an adjustable rate and timer. If you want more than that, in-app purchases let you unlock additional features - of course, you can also use them just to thank the developer (which is what I often do after a breaking in period - just to make sure there are no hidden “gotchas”).
Perfect!

The default apple watch app does not work well for me because i have great lungs capacity.. BreathingExercisesBreathe allowed me to tailor the pattern to my body!
Suggestion: allow storing a couple of breathing pattern settings.. when i am tired or very stressed i cannot follow the same pattern as when I am not. Do that and i will make sure i give you 6* after every update.

How is BreathingExercisesBreathe even free? I just love how the sound and vibration keep you in tempo and you can just close your eyes and FOCUS on your breathing. I love how I can add seconds to the box breathing technique. You guys did an awesome job! NOW, when are you going to come out with a version for the Apple Watch?! I would LOVE to have it on my watch, that would be awesome! Hopefully soon! But other than that, GREAT JOB and THANK YOU!

Just want to share - I read a review that griped about how when the timer on this (paid version) app runs out, your phone's screen stays brightly lit. But I discovered that setting the iphone clock's timer and choosing Stop Playing as the alarm sound, (not really a sound) WILL turn off BreathingExercisesBreathe and your phone will then turn itself off normally.
I am very much liking BreathingExercisesBreathe.

I adore this simple, yet powerful, app. I set my in and out breaths for 6 each, corresponding with Coherent breathing. I do just 1 minute many times a day for a lovely reset and soothing of my nervous system. The colors and patterns accompanying the in and out breath make it even more soothing. I feel like I’m gently bobbing up and down in the ocean waves. I am a therapist and I recommend this to my clients as an easy way to help regulate their nervous systems.

Super simple layout! Just set up the ratios and time and you're good to go! I love being able to relax and just follow the guided imagery to know when to inhale, exhale and hold. And integration is seamless with the Apple Health app. I've tried several of the other breath apps and this one is the simplest and easiest to use. And you don't need to create an account! The ability to have different ratio presets would be a nice bonus feature.

I don't usually rate apps but, BreathingExercisesBreathe is absolutely wonderful. I use the free version of BreathingExercisesBreathe and have found that it completely helps me avoid anxiety attacks and loss of breath. I wish I could use the green mountains color, but I would rather use a free app with most of the things I want rather than a payed app with everything. If anyone asked for an app that didn't have meditation involved, I would recommend BreathingExercisesBreathe! Thanks!

Wonderful. I was recommended BreathingExercisesBreathe by a doctor helping me with anxiety and insomnia. He started me on a couple minutes 3 days a week and eventually (over 6 weeks) worked me up to 2 daily sessions of 20 mins each.
It works great. Now i use it infrequently, just when I start to get worked up or ruminating or can’t sleep, then even for 3 mins it is great though when i can go longer, it works even better! Highly recommend it!

I’ve been working on box breathing for anxiety issues. It’s nice to not have to think of the duration and count yourself.
The vibration reminders are nice as well because it’s gentle enough to alert me without disrupting the peace of mind that I come to have afterwards.
It’s wonderful free, but I personally upgraded because of the hard work the developers have done. The different themes that come with it are a nice touch and you can preview them if you prefer to keep your eyes open or want to peek for guidance.

BreathingExercisesBreathe has helped with my anxiety disorder, it helps me to control my breathing and as I do my breathing, my anxiety lowers. I love that I can adjust the seconds I need to breathe in and out. I love the calming colored waves the rise and fall in unison with my breathing. The vibration cues and music are great for cues to breath in and out. I have tried many apps for breathing, this one works the best for me. I definitely recommend for any one who needs to low anxiety, wants to take a few minutes to relax, or just need a minute to breathe.

It’s so simple it just might work to get me to use it.
So often these days apps are all about distracting you or taking you out of the present. Coming from a millennial, I just can’t stand going on IG anymore or using other apps that make me look at my phone all the time. The ones that demand my attention.
This one is straight forward easy to use and gives you options. I went ahead and purchased BreathingExercisesBreathe outright for $9. Worth every penny.

I’ve been using BreathingExercisesBreathe for a while now. It stands out for its simplicity and is very effective in providing, tactile, audible and visual feedback to time your in breath, hold, out breath and hold out durations. The choice of sounds and the on screen visual patterns are quite pleasing. BreathingExercisesBreathe would be even more useful if it allowed users to save their favorite patterns for easy recall. To push ones luck a bit more, it would be better yet if it could tie in with an HRV app to help record the physiological effects during the practice.

I love to unwind in bed at night, but I struggle with typical meditation apps because they are audibly guided. Don’t get be wrong I do enjoy those apps and I need that from time to time as well. The problem that BreathingExercisesBreathe solves is that I go to sleep well after my husband so I can’t have music or audio playing. I hate wearing headphones. This is great because I can turn sound off and vibrations on hold my phone and breathe to this as I drift off. I sleep better and don’t wake my hubby. It’s the best of all worlds! I have never found another app that offers this feature I love this!

It is very easy to set the lengths of in-breath, out and hold intervals if you want them. I really like the rising and falling image they use for guiding your breath. It takes up the whole screen and so is easy to see if your device is within view. The audio is very pleasing and soothing. I like having the audio because often I want to close my eyes while doing the exercises. You can set a session length if you want. At the end of the session the image stops the rising and falling and the screen displays an End of Session message, all very quite, not an alarm. First rate app. Five stars for sure!
