Very rewarding to slowly move colors around to see a rainbow pattern emerge from a random field of jumbled color tiles. I sometimes have a problem seeing the tile under my fingers frequently on the levels with small pieces. Maybe dev could have an selected option to offset the tile to 1 inch away on iPhones with 3D Touch, and rotate 90 degrees each time you press hard. Also, I think you can’t exit a game to play another one unless you’ve completed the current one. This seems like it would be a frustrating issue at higher levels where the difference in hues are very slight. I imagine people with marginal screens would get stuck and they couldn’t change games.
The main reason I’m giving it a 3 star rating is that after I paid $10 to purchase the game, I read the fine print which said that the money was for tokens to play the game, more or less. If I knew this was the deal, I would not have bought it. Very sneaky.

This game has a wonderful concept and with a few tweaks could be even better. A lot of people have commented about the calming nature of the game. The intro music is the first thing I noticed which contributed to my own sense of calm within the game. However, I wish there was an option for the music to continue playing during game play. Second, I enjoy the idea of different levels and the motivating messages shown at completion of a puzzle. However, I wish there were more diversity in puzzle shapes even at the lower levels of the game. Although the higher levels are more mentally engaging, there are many times I would prefer a simple game with less challenge. That is possible at the lower levels, but the puzzles feel nearly the same given the square pieces for every single puzzle. Finally, despite my minor requests for improvements, this is a nice game with a different approach to engaging users and I enjoy playing it several times a week.

I have never written an app review before, but I Love Hue deserves as much praise as it can get. This is simple yet challenging, incredibly satisfying (dare I say addicting), and visually stunning. As someone with OCD, I have found this game to be an amazing substitute for certain rituals as well as a great coping mechanism. It’s soothing and relaxing. Each stage comes with calm, zen-like messages that are just pleasant to read. I’ve played through every single level multiple times until I beat the world average in each one, partly due to perfectionism but also so I could get compliments such as “iridescent moonbeam” and “glorious butterfly.” There are no “pay to play” features, no subscriptions, and while there ARE ads, they are extremely tolerable. Ads come up very rarely, and always between levels so there’s no risk of interruption. Plus, in my experience they have always been skippable. Overall, this has been my favorite game for almost three years now and is by far the best color-sorting game I’ve come across.
This morning, I downloaded I Love Hue Too and I am already hooked! Amazing and even more extensive than its predecessor. I highly recommend both of these apps.

My study pool is admittedly small, but I was quite disappointed downloading this game after playing I love hue too religiously. It wasn’t even the addition of the “crystals” system (I understand that the devs need to make a living, and the crystal system is overall quite reasonable), it was just the lack of some of the meditative aspects that I had come to love in 2. The actual gameplay itself still runs well. However, there are a couple changes I would love to see in this version. 1. PLEASE add a dark mode setting. I often play the game as I am going to bed, and the bright white of the main menu is irritating. This is the only thing that I have a major complaint with. This game is in desperate need of a dark mode. 2. Optional ambient music during levels. I really liked this feature in ILH2, and would love to have it on ILH. Okay, I’m done. I understand that some of these changes would take lots of programming work, but some (read: DARK MODE) would vastly improve user experience. Thanks to the devs for making a great game!

When I tell you I’m in love with this game I mean it. It’s all I can think about and all I do when I’m on my phone. The way the colors shine in my eyes and the way the blocks move around so gracefully across my screen makes my heart flutter 💞 the colors are just right, they are beautiful, I spend hours on end playing this game over and over. When I’m having a hard day and see the icon of ILoveHue on my home screen my face just lights up and I instantly feel better about myself knowing I’m going home to play my favorite game. I have the icon set as all of my profile pictures on all of my social medias and even my company email. Saying I’m obsessed with this game is an understatement, this game is my life. And I will do anything to keep being able to play it. It’s set as my lockscreen and my Home Screen. My computer background is even set as it. My favorite puzzles are the rainbow ones, just the way the colors clash together makes me smile and feel warm inside 🩷 anyways, I’m just saying that this game is beautiful and very well working, I recommend this to everyone I talk to since it’s basically all I talk about. 😊

I haven’t spent a dime on this game. I have read reviews where people say it costs money, yet I have accumulated enough hearts and prisms to unlock everything without the need to spend cash. I have been telling everyone about this gem! As a former art student and artist, I feel this game is really a study in color. It’s a zen-like experience that both calms and excites at the same time. I love that it doesn’t gouge my wallet and I can just sit back and enjoy the game. I absolutely love seeing how the shades of color play against each other. Once a square is placed in its proper position ones brain can immediately tell. What once looked off in shade suddenly registers in the brain and the puzzle starts to take shape. I am addicted to this game and enjoy seeing how my score ranks against other players. My best score was 77 moves over a 223 move world average. I was impressed with myself, that’s for sure! I think anyone who wishes to better understand color and how shades can interact with others should play this game. You will see how amazing it is. I am into the quests now and have gone past “explorer”, they just keep getting better. It’s calming and really aids in stress relief.

I struggle with anxiety and I also have some weird form of anger issues. This game is relaxing, calming and a lot of fun actually. I love sorting games like this and it's so satisfying to see all of the colors fall into place as you go. There's no stress of trying to "beat the level" or anything like that. There's multiple levels and multiple stages and you can go at your own pace. There's no right or wrong where it tells you "uh oh, try again" and it even gives you nice little messages when you get through a level, like calling you and iridescent moon beam or a shining rainbow. This is hands down my favorite mobile game and i find myself playing it so often that some of my friends have even gotten it too!! I started playing I Love Hue Too and it's just as amazing. Also, did I mention there are no ads and no pop ups asking you to buy extension packs?? Did I also mention that there actually aren't any extension packs and you can buy things if you choose to? Did i ALSO mention that when you do buy things it's not over the top expensive???? I love this game so much.

I’ve had this game for roughly three or four years now and decided it’s about time I left a review. I don’t know what I can say about this that hasn’t already been said but I can sure agree with all the positive reviews I’ve come across. Visuals, atmosphere, levels, ads, everything is so perfectly managed in ILoveHue. It’s all simple but truly wonderful. It’s an incredibly fun game to play but if I’m being honest I don’t usually open the game to have fun. At the end of the day this is my comfort app and it has been for a long time now. In moments where I feel incredibly stressed or anxious, both outdoors and in, opening ILoveHue and solving the stunning ombré puzzles always helps calm me down. I’m not one to stick to one gaming app for too long. I’ll usually complete it and/or get bored of it and proceed to replace it with something new. Same with apps that I download to help with anxiety or nerves. I end up switching them up because I never end up satisfied but this has certainly stayed with me for a while and it’ll definitely stay with me for a lot longer. ILoveHue just gives me a profound sense of comfort and calm while simultaneously providing an enjoyably fun time. I’m incredibly grateful for finding this and whether you want something zen or a fun game to enjoy I genuinely recommend everyone have this game downloaded.

After I finished all the levels of I Love Hue 2, I immediately downloaded I Love Hue—I needed more Hue in my life! These games are so relaxing and pretty. The perfect way to unwind. Beautifully simple without being overly easy! I love the progression of complexity/difficulty as you work through the levels. The higher levels are little micro-challenges, but are totally stress free because they aren’t unsolvable and there’s no time pressure. The concept behind the games is also quite charming and really adds to the relaxing vibe.
The only 'complaint' I have is that for certain levels you really have to have your brightness all the way up to be able to differentiate the tiles. It’s only an issue when playing at a time when you won’t have access to a charger anytime soon, as the full brightness drains the battery. But the easy fix is that if I’m not at home I play I Love Hue 2 because I’ve found I can play with a dimmer screen. Overall, it’s no big issue.
Highly recommend this game!!!

I just recently downloaded ILoveHue and I thought it would be just another app game, but I was SO WRONG! ILoveHue is such a great game!! It’s relaxing and fun while still being engaging and worthwhile. I’m ADDICTED!!! I’m already far into the game and I’ve only had ILoveHue for maybe a day. It’s super calming and it gives you little compliments and calls you a sunbeam or an iridescent moonbeam and other sweet little things like that. I thought I’d get bored of this game or not understand how to play but it’s so engaging and entertaining and easy to learn how to do, and once you learn it just sets you free to do harder levels. I like how it gives you the option to move up or to continue on the level you are on. I’m even learning about color theory a bit while playing this game! It’s a great game to show off to your friends and make yo look smart while still being a nice and relaxing game. I love the gentle music playing in the background too!!!

I love ILoveHue. I’ve had it downloaded for less than a half hour, and I love it! I can’t get past level 10 though.. =(. I’m rarely happy and I’m always looking for something to make me happy, and ILoveHue is good, except for the fact that I’ll always stress out if I cant finish something. There is so many levels, it would take someone ages to complete this game. I don’t normally like level games, because once I complete the ten levels the game has to offer, I’m just like: Now what? But I know if I ever finish this game, (which I probably won’t), I would just replay the levels. That’s how fun it is. So download ILoveHue . It’s free. And if you don’t like it, you can just delete it. But try it. And that other review about the prisms and money, don’t worry about it, you get 60, and then 12 if you watch a video. I mean, maybe worry about it, possibly, but, for the first 10 you don’t have to.
EDIT: I passed level 10. I also beat the world average on the 1st puzzle of the 2nd stage, which was 71, and I got 19. Yay!!!
EDIT II: The world average doesn’t feel pressuring to me. I got one where it was 20 more than the average, and it still said wondrous.
EDIT III: You can turn in-game scores off too, if you do get pressured by that kind of thing. So don’t worry. Still download it. Please?
EDIT IV: I think it would be really cool if you could enable a feature that made it so the correct ones would pin themselves down or you could buy hints with prisms.

Really elegant game that continues to delight. Simple rules that can pass through age & language barriers, gameplay that’s fun and gratifying (unless maybe you’re colorblind? I don’t know to be sure, I feel like one could still play this game if colorblind and make gradients).
Won’t give you adrenal spikes that keep you awake like some other games, is an amusing way to pass some time while still paying attention to your surroundings. No timers, either, which makes gameplay casual & easygoing.
The music is nice, though sometimes lacking—there could definitely be music more often. The developer gently asks for a purchase to remove ads and honestly made it easy to spend a larger amount on the game than it might otherwise sell for if monetized up front in ILoveHue Store. By time I spent anything on this game it came with the same gratification as giving a good tip for outstanding service / performance. I definitely would like to support similar work from this developer, based on this game.
Would be fun if there were other metrics collected, like which hues are placed most accurately the first time or average time to correct shade arrangement by hue; we could learn a little more about our color biases that way.
All in all, a great time. I don’t have kids yet but could see this being a great game to play together as a family if I had!

When I saw this in ILoveHue Store I couldn’t imagine how it would be either challenging or rewarding. Boy was I wrong. Right now I’m working through the third set of the second stage (“The Dream”), and they really do get tough — I can only imagine what the final stage looks like. And it is incredibly rewarding when you get something in the perfect place and know it.
Normally I find it distasteful when apps offer in app purchases, as it often heads towards a “pay to win” mechanic. But ILoveHue’s scheme doesn’t bother me at all — it just limits you to 4 puzzles a day, and you can pay or watch ads to do more. Frankly, the system just keeps you from having unhealthy habits and sinking too much time into the game.
Altogether an amazing game for all ages (seriously, I’m a dude in college and still find this incredibly enjoyable). Try it out, you may find it greatly exceeds your expectations.

When I first tried ILoveHue on my friends phone, I was like ILoveHue is so awesome what is it called I need to get it, so I grabbed my phone out of my bag and downloaded ILoveHue . The very first time I tried it on my phone it was the very first level and I thought “this is way too easy,” but I played literally every day for 6 months and got to the very last level. It engaged me, and relaxed me, but even more than that it was very addicting. The only complaints I have are that u have to pay money to do each level which I think I’d wired bc it is such a great game, and eventually u run out of diamonds to use for each level and make people not want to play anymore bc they have to pay REAL money. The second thing is make it a little harder as it goes on. Theses r my only complaints but overall I would give it 10/5 stars!!

I'm rarely satisfied with games, i usually download a few and delete them a couple months later. This game however, I don't think I'll ever delete. I've already beaten all the levels and i even went back to beat the world average on the levels i didn't the first time. This game really helped me get through stressful times and I'm so so so in love with it.
To all the people who say it takes too long to get prisms, here's my suggestion: when watching TV or doing something else you don't necessarily need your phone for, watch a bunch of ads. I did this and got my prism count to around...700. Then you can basically play every puzzle there is, without having to wait around.
This really is my favorite game I've ever downloaded on my phone since, although it's the same idea - make a gradient - every puzzle is a new challenge.

i love ILoveHue so much. i always play it when i’m going to be in the car for a long time (with someone else driving of course), and i’ve started playing before bed, too. it’s not something that makes me think a lot and definitely doesn’t stress me out or get annoying, but it also doesn’t get boring and keeps me engaged just enough for it to not be something that i put off until i have more time/want to do something while i’m also talking to someone but i still really enjoy playing and don’t get bored. i cannot recommend this game enough, i do like games that have stories and have things you have to think about but this game is perfect no matter what i’m doing. AND very minimal ads, and never in the middle of a level. i adore ILoveHue so much

I blow through games on my phone like no one's business. Usually, I'll keep one for a few days before I get bored of it. Most games on ILoveHue store follow the same game design with the same monetization strategy.
Not Hue.
I love hue is a beautiful game that is designed to be fun and challenging, rather than pull every dime out of your wallet. There are SO many puzzles. I was very pleased with the game when I thought it had only one page of puzzles, but it has three pages, each with several sets that contain at least ten each, usually twenty five though. All of this is free. It's amazing.
There's nothing in this that pushes you to buy the in app purchases, which is a major plus for me. You use prisms to play, but you are given more than enough daily to pay a few rounds, and if you need more without wanting to pay, there's an option to watch ads for a very good amount of prisms in return. It's a refreshing change.
The puzzles themselves are beautiful. I love the gradients used for them. There's no time limit to complete them, and while there is a statistic showing you how many moved it took you to complete a puzzle as compared to the world average, you can turn that off if you desire.
This game really is worth your time. Honestly, if you do get it, I'd consider throwing a few dollars towards the developers (I have, and doing so also turns off ads in the game). They really worked hard on this and deserve the support.

if you have an eye for subtle differences in colors and gradation, this game is for you. OMG all i can say is WOW!!!! i am IN LOVE with this game!!!! no time limit, no move limit (that i’m aware of cause i chose the options to hide score), no competition AND all levels are unlocked without having to spend money. there are ads but maybe every two or three levels, but it’s not that bad cause on average (depending on how good you are) a level can take about 10 minutes to finish, sometimes longer on the larger scale puzzles. even getting “lives” is free (unless you want to buy extra lives but you can free ones daily) my ONLY critique/suggestion is to have an option to see the final picture because sometimes it’s a little hard to start the gradation and know what the pattern is. other than that, GREAT game!!! also highly recommend I Love Hue Too (the sequel)

I’m a person who gets stressed out and overstimulated very easily. Things like puzzles are very effective in calming me down, but most puzzle games come with a lot of ads, pop-ups, and excessive unnecessary features that just end up overstimulating me more. This game doesn’t have any of that. It has very few ads and no annoying pop-up banners. The mechanics are simple and straightforward. You can pay for more prisms if you want too, but each puzzle is worth so few that you don’t really need too; it’s not a game that forces you to pay by purposely trying to run out your prisms. And if you do choose to pay for more, the prices are very very good for the amount offered. For ten dollars you can get enough prisms to play 400 levels, and you still get 15 free every day. The actual gameplay is very easy to get the hang of and very relaxing. There’s no timer or score. Your moves vs. the average amount of moves are displayed, but there’s nothing lost or gained. And it’ll give you a sweet message at the end either way. The music is nice, but if you get tired of it you can easily turn it off and play your own, it’s not one of those apps that turns off whatever you were listening too the moment you open it. Overall it’s the perfect calming puzzle game⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This game is very nice. The colors are well chosen to be pleasant and blend with interesting tones. When you put the tiles into the correct slots and you can see the blending of colors and shades line up it is strangely pleasing. I find myself smiling often while playing this game.
The messages between games are almost ridiculously positive: “You multicolored rainbow! You beat the world average!” And then others such as “Superb!” I suppose it’s nice that the messages are positive, but I hardly notice them.
Any purchase removes the between puzzle ads, so you can remove ads for 1.99. I like this, as you can try the game free. The ads are a bit too often, and I enjoyed the game so I bought prisms to remove the ads. The game gives free prisms daily and you can watch ads to get extra. I’ve played a few ads while doing other things to stock up some prisms- it seems you can play at least five per day, possibly more. All in all, the amount of prisms per ad watched and the amount per round seem fair. (Obviously, I’d prefer no prisms, but I understand that isn’t how games often work).
Overall: I recommend the game (unless you’re colorblind- sorry, Tim). I find it extremely pleasing and relaxing. Free to try and 1.99 to remove occasional ads is very reasonable. 5/5

I have the free version, and it is great, but if I wasn’t so completely broke, I would definitely buy the full version - just to support the creators of this awesome game…the game is based on a simple idea, with a infinite amount of possible puzzles…the score is based on the number of moves, and not timed, which I think is great. I would love it if, in addition to the world average number a moves given for each level, they also gave the number expressing the fewest possible moves needed to solve the puzzle. I think that would be just the number of squares on the board that are not fixed in place, so I guess I could just count, but it seems like it would fit perfectly alongside the “world average”. - Also, I love the little messages that congratulate you when you complete a level, but so far I have only seen two messages, and I WOULD SERIOUSLY play the levels just to see a new colorful celebratory catchphrase…I think that the creators should ask for players to submit their ideas, and I volunteer to help in any way I can - I am an artist, and a desperate, hopeless color addict- you can find on my work on giphy, picsart, redbubble, and others as dinaaaaaah - d-i-n-6 ‘a’s-h - and I found the game original, relaxing, beautifully designed, challenging, and ultimately satisfying ❤️

This game is marvelous. I was looking for a game to doze to sleep by that engaged me, was beautiful, but didn’t stress me out. This is everything I was looking for and more. The visuals are exquisite. The little encouraging messages are so nice as you doze in bed. Seeing your ranking vs the world average is a nice nod to your achievement, without making it an ongoing intense competition. The musical tones are used perfectly, only as a reward after finishing hand as you start a round. Otherwise you just get to play in silence. Calm, mesmerizing, silence. And the tones that do play are so unobtrusive I actually leave the sound on as I play (something I rarely do with phone games). Also, the gameplay is surprisingly rewarding. It’s so cool to see the whole grid finally click together. It definitely gives the brain a fantastic little dump of positive brain-chemicals and works a beauty-appreciating part of your mind in a way rarely tapped in to so intentionally. My one complaint about this game is that they don’t have a buy-once-and-play-all-the-content-without-ads option. Seriously, even if it’s $20. You guys have made an exquisitely calming experience. It makes the awful casino style ads all the more irritating. Lol. I want to pay you to never hear them again in your beautiful game. TAKE MY MONEY. Ok, thx for your art. This wonderful. If you’re reading this, get. this. game.
by Onceler Simp
There’s a ton of levels, and I find it entertaining to match up the colors in the puzzle. The only time there are ads are after you finish a puzzle, and you can also watch ads to get more xp (which you hardly ever need more of)
I started playing this game on my friend’s phone while we would ride the bus together and now I have it for myself and I’m steadily working through the levels. You don’t need WiFi for this game either which is good.
The only tiny thing I find annoying is that once you have solved enough puzzles to unlock the next level, you can just press a button to move on to the next one. But there are still more puzzles to solve in the previous level, so you haven’t even completed all of them by the time you are able to move on. You can just go back to the previous level and keep working on it, so it’s really not an issue but it still misled me haha.

I rarely take the time to stop what I’m doing, accept the prompt, and navigate to ILoveHue Store to write a review. When you think about it, this is a courtesy, but a big ask for people who probably consider themselves chronically busy, like I do. However, I make an exception here to offer unreserved praise for I Love Hue. I am still early in the game, but I love it so much. The gameplay is peaceful and the sound design lulls me into a state of calm focus. I like that the only sense of reward is to become efficient on my own terms, not to beat a clock. In this way, it resembles my favorite type of pursuit in the real world. I also enjoy the in-app purchase choices. They are simple and useful, not the bloat of some other apps. I Love Hue is an engine of contentment in my daily life. Please play it and see for yourself.

Still love this game! Any chance more levels soon?
So I still love this game and I am glad I got rid of the constant ads but occasionally I will hit the watch ad button to get more pyramids. (Which is a nice feature totally willing to occasionally watch an ad for extra pyramids) HOWEVER some of the ads have very loud sound that starts automatically even if you have sound turned off on ILoveHue . Please fix this!!! Sound off should mean sound off.
My daughter just showed me this one last night and it is great! Only thing less great is the insane number of ads that start after the first set. I did buy the smallest amount of pyramids just to get rid of the video ads that played after every single level. But really love the game otherwise so far!

I finished all the levels and wanted to play again, starting over from the very beginning. It took DAYS to figure out that, in addition to deleting & reinstalling the game, you must LOG OUT of your apple account entirely, which idk when I last did that, but I had (apparently) forgotten my password, and resetting it was worse than getting a new social security number to fake your own death.
But good news, I learned something along the way. Everyone who complained about having to buy prisms in your reviews? Listen up. All you need is to purchase the minimum amount of prisms, and when you run out, just delete & reinstall the game. It saves your progress, and resets your prisms to the full amount!
Please don’t fix that, developers! 😂
Don’t worry, I’m almost certain they don’t read these reviews. They certainly don’t respond to them. I’ve tried tweeting at them with no response, and their facebook is nothing but marketing as well- I don’t see any interaction with people anywhere. I mean, I get it, who wants to spend their time with complaints, or updates? The game is nearly perfect as it is, so, yeah.
I have an idea for a similar game for color blind people. I wish I knew how to make it.

I have been looking for a simple, non competitive game to play on my morning and afternoon commutes to and from work and I have finally found it. I love this game. Back when I was in college studying color theory was one of my favorites, so seeing this game in ILoveHue Store was a delight. Playing it was even better — not even a day in I purchased a pack of gems to support the developer and remove the advertisements. It’s THAT good. I love it. You can do the puzzles at your own pace not having to worry about timers, and enjoy the music. I especially love that the game picks up where you left off if you start a puzzle and close ILoveHue for later. Seeing the pieces of the puzzles fit together always brings me joy. Something about finally making sense of the color chaos.
Well done.

Highly recommend this game!!!

ILoveHue- ILoveHue. I’ve had this for about a week now and I’m so addicted (in a good way)
It’s not just one of those random mindless games you play to pass time. Ok, yes, it passes a lot of time, but it really exercises your brain. It’s such a gorgeous game and the ads barely pop up, and when they do they’re skippable. I just can’t get over how well made and incredible ILoveHue is. I never write reviews but this is gonna be an exception. If you are reading this- take my word and get ILoveHue. It’s so simple and yet relaxing and can also be challenging in a fun way. I enjoy listening to audiobooks or music while playing this, and it really passes time. Ignore the 1 star reviews, ILoveHue is rated almost 5 stars for a reason.
