Some parts good, some parts could be better

So WeatherKit design is fantastic. Easily 10/10. But it really needs hour to hour weather. After all, i gotta know how warm its gonna be when i leave work. I doubt I’m the only one who needs it. The widget needs that as well. Also, an apple watch and iPad app. Although the apple watch one is far more important and I’m sure the developer knows this. In any case, very good app, just need some more things.

Disappointed

The biggest issue for me was the misrepresentation of the radar. The Preview shows "military-level" radar but once I paid for Pro that is NOT what I got. The precipitation layer just looks like purple clouds, no distinction for intensity and hardly accurate. I contacted support and they said availability for the radar that's depicted was based on location but it does not mention that anywhere in WeatherKit description (I'm in the US btw). A few months and a couple updates later, still no useable radar. There is also no key for the other layers so I don't know what I'm looking at when I view the temperature or pressure layers. I like the aesthetics and navigating the UI is intuitive but without a competent radar I can't use it.

Outstanding Craftsmanship and Usability

this app has an exquisite, beautiful design and layout. The ability to choose between two data sources based on personal preference! The map is excellent, and the layers available are dependent on what data source you select. The alert for rain is very helpful, as well as the ability to add glances for other areas. I highly recommend using this app for your source of the weather forecast! In the future, I would love to see a widget for quick access.

Great weather app

So far my experience with this app has been stellar. There are some features to be desired. Ie. radar, weather alerts, Apple Watch companion app. However, I believe this is going to be a weather app that continues to grow and is a beautiful application. You will not be disappointed with the aesthetics of WeatherKit. Go pro and enjoy all future updates as I am sure they will be in the near future. 5 star!

It’s a good app

I’ve been beta testing since I saw a link on reddit and I’ve got to say I really like this - I’m a college student who travels between 4 cities in the same state that are all pretty far from each other (and very different weather wise) and I use this as oppose to the regular weather app just because of everything it has to offer. Another plus is how good and well put together it looks.

Gorgeous app — some ideas for future updates

This is such a beautiful app! I think it’s a bit silly to have to pay for a 7 day forecast, but the price isn’t outrageous, so I personally don’t mind paying it (though I see how it would turn others off)

Just a thought — it would be cute to get little notifications in the morning (user sets the time) about the weather for the day!

Over promised and under delivered

Pro app so called detailed report gives less detail than I could get in many a free app. Windspeed stuck in meters per second. A total disappointment. Advertised as free but useless without a dollar a month upgrade.

"The number of the details is more important then the quality of the details"? This is a false dichotomy. You can have more data points that are accurate without claiming it's just too hard. Weatherbug, big sky, or a backyard weather station all spank you. Look at Weathertron or Haze for spectacular number crunching behind a beautifully designed UI.

Simple and beautiful, room for expansion.

I like WeatherKit, and how simple it is without missing any key information. I look forward to Apple Watch support, and I wish the non-high contrast look had a bit more contrast, as it’s usually difficult to read. This is all of course superfluous stuff, WeatherKit is solid.

Great app

Granted it’s still in beta I love the details but not a huge fan of the map the different layers you can put on it all look very similar. The precipitation one drives me nuts. It shows the clouds but not the heaviness of the the rain and such. I think if they upgrade the maps it’ll b 5 stars beyond a shadow of a doubt. It’s a great app and the rain alerts are handy too

Lovely developers and a wonderful UI

The developers of WeatherKit are extremely caring and wonderful people, they truly care about WeatherKit and it’s users wholeheartedly. WeatherKit itself has probably the most beautiful UI of any weather app I’ve ever seen as well, not to mention the notifications and the fact that everything is there at a glance.

Great design

Out of all the weather apps I’ve tried, I think this one has the nicest design. It feels very native on the iPhone X. I don’t like subscription models, so I’m glad to see a lifetime option is available. The information seems accurate as far as I can tell, and swiping between the different views is incredibly smooth.

Really wanted to like this app.

The good: it’s minimal, the information is presented well. It’s super clean, responsive, and a joy to navigate/use.

The huge problem with WeatherKit: the most important features are gated by the largest subscription I’ve ever seen for an app, especially for a weather app. $9 a year. How is that price justified at all for a weather app.

Just buy Carrot. It has more features for a one time price, and if you want some more customization and some better Apple Watch features, it’s $4/year.

Not worth it.

Did I miss something here? WeatherKit is totally plain vanilla...even the Pro version with a subscription. “Detailed” reports? This is basic weather info! Where is precip amount? Snow accumulation? Descriptions of forecasted days?? Not here ...and what’s worse, I can’t even change pressure out of metric...it is forever set in millibars. I am regretting the subscription. Additionally...a quick Google search of ExtremeAccuracy weather data or API only returns results for WeatherKit...nobody else has heard of or reports on it...which makes me wonder if they are making this up.

It's a good start but...

I finally downloaded WeatherKit and purchased it because radar was added. Unfortunately the radar is not good at all. It always loads in temp mode and then switching to precip mode is extremely slow. Sometimes I can't even get the radar to load to show me the rain/snow. It needs a lot of work but I'm very hopeful it will improve quickly and become my new weather app.

It is good but it is also not good

I fell like that WeatherKit is a very good app if you are using it just to what the temperature is and wether it is raining or not. But if you want to get extra features you have to upgrade to pro which isn’t that bad but it is annoying that you have to pay money where you could find a other weather app that would give same features as pro but on a totally free app.

Design and simplicity is beautiful

Love the look and simpleness of WeatherKit . Not cluttered with information although it’s there if needed, wish it was cheaper than $17 as it still provides a function that’s readily available most places. Mostly just paying for the design.

Great Weather App

This is so much better than the standard weather app on the iPhone! As a flight crew member the radar maps help me plan ahead for turbulence and it actually finds my location and updates me with local weather information. Only request: please develop a widget in the near future, thanks! :)

By

Great!

So far I am enjoying the simplicity and accuracy! Wondering if I can share it on Facebook? I don’t have twitter so the chance to win the pro license is lessened for folks like myself!

Otherwise I enjoy how concise it feels. No clutter or unneeded videos of cats (although those are fun)... keep up the great work!

Love the daily message!

Was a bit skeptical when downloading WeatherKit but am happy to have done so! Gives very accurate forecasts and the pro version is very helpful and worth the money. Message under the temp on home screen is my favorite bit of sassy!

Nice looking, but more details would be nice

I like the simplicity of WeatherKit , but a few more details would be nice. I can’t say that the radar really tells me much. Majority of the time I pull it up, everything looks the same color. What does “wind” show me? I expected to see arrows. Speed. Something. Instead I just see areas of color, like a heat-map. I’d love to see a way to show more details.
