I love first Major Mayhem and play it all the time. Was looking forward to part 2 and was extremely disappointed:(. There is so much going on on the screen without adding much to a gameplay. It is literally the same gameplay but with much messier design and unnecessary UI complexity. Also you now have to pay to progress to next level by buying energy with gems which you need to buy with real money. What a big let down. The first game was an ideal free game without annoying ads and reasonable way to progress (pay to fast progress, free for slow). I will stick with first one. It’s still fun.
The first thing you need to know is that one of the key game mechanics - dodging - is fundamentally broken. Your two options are supposed to be pressing a jump button, or swiping up. But the touch box on the jump button is so tiny that you’ll usually miss. And the your swipes are only recognized as swipes about 60-70% of the time. I’m currently on a level with no cover, only dodging, and I’ve failed it 5 times, not because I’m too slow, but because the game didn’t recognize my swipes. Which means I may not be able to progress further in the game.
But even if this was fixed, there’s still the glaring problem of greedy microtransactions. Your damage is insanely low with the early guns, pressuring you to upgrade or buy new weapons. The in-game-money cost of upgrading/buying them is too high. And even when you have enough in-game money, you still have to wait for “blueprints” to randomly drop from loot boxes. Plus there’s a very heavy handed energy system, only allowing you to play a max of five levels per sitting once you reach the second chapter.
While the enemy gets some rad aicraft/vehicles, our hero gets some puny rides and then for a limited oh so limited time! This game needs a major overhaul! Need some tanks, transformer-like mech suit with matching weapons, for starters, and keep these goodies throughout the game with the ability to upgrade while on the battlefield and not just after every level, to lose them ONLY when our hero is captured or killed! Obviously the developers need to raise the difficulty level, but I am unanimous in saying it will be humongously worth it!
This game is ruined by the advertisements and micro transactions. Want to play the next mission? Please watch this video. Want the next gun? Well you could play for a 45 hours to earn the arbitrary gems or you could just buy them with real money! The first Major Mayhem was a blast. I played for hours unlocking all the guns and completing the silly achievements. This game however ultimately cripples you by forcing you to pay real money, or watch ads to ‘speed up’ the unlocks. It’s predatory and ruins the game. I would have rather bought an ad-free micro transaction free game for 9.99 than have this garbage for free.
Mechanics are pretty solid though. Although, the jump to dodge during the ‘run n gun’ sequences is frustrating and doesn’t work properly. I miss the armor/health replenishment from the first game. They are just forcing you to ‘die’ so you can watch another ad to play again. Weapon selection is abysmal compared to the first, and it is much harder to obtain weapons in Major Mayhem II.
I beat the 50 missions, and will be promptly uninstalling.
I have had the first major mayhem for a really long time and still enjoy playing it. Saw MM2 and made it through the first tutorial. They added lots of new things and made it much more in-depth. Then I noticed I had 10 “energy”. So you can play 10 times before you have to wait or buy more. I deleted it the second I saw that. I absolutely refuse to play any energy based games. That’s just my personal preference. Aside from it almost looked interesting.
This is a *Mayor dissapointment. I am a fan and love the first MM. So you could say that I was eagerly awaiting for the second instalment of the series. And boy did I waste my time. All the improvements that could be done to the original; same mechanics with a minor tweak. And you went and did it backwords. Not only do I have to have *Lives to play a level, you went and took the customization tool and eliminated it. Its not fun at the begining like the first one. And its not hard but fun in a Demon Souls kind of way. Its tedius and anoying. Not to mention all the times ive died because of the misiles having the same red aura as regular proyectiles and grenades. Its not that its not good, but the first MM was way more fun, and even the gameplay mechs are better in 1 than 2. I hope you fix some of these minor errors and give us, the ones that loved MM 1 and where waiting for the sequel a great game like we deserve for waiting so patiently and being loyal to the Mayhem.
It’s... decent. The energy system and ads kinda ruin the fast-paced, mission hopping gameplay that I enjoyed in major meyhem 1. Box timers and multiple currencies ruin the grind aspects. In mm1, the grind was a reasonable, if you wanted a gun or vanity item, you played missions, but in this, you have find blue prints by unboxing, take an unreasonable time to get the coins, and then upgrad it so it’s on par with other weapons, in mm1, you could get things fast as long as you were good. Mm1 was way better. Also, my game chrashes almost ever time I load level 12. Duh duh we’ll actually, micrtransactions are optional moron. Yes they are not neccecary, but it’s almost not fun to play when with how many ads you have to watch to play for more than 25 minutes.
First of all, thanks for making a sequel to the first MM, it was a huge success and I think the developers were hoping to carry that on to the second one. MM2 is very similar to the first one, except now it has energy bars and a pay-to-play system. Also, it seems as if the armor and health boost you could obtain from saving scientists in the first game has been scrapped from the second game. As others have mentioned, it’s still a great game but it seems as if the developers have taken a step backwards instead of forward. However, one could tell that the developers did put their time and effort into this game because it is very polished and no bugs appear in sight. Overall a 3/5 rating. Will change if they listen to the fans!
I love this game (not as much as the first) it’s fast action paced that’s why I like it, although it has new guns and features the upgrades can get expensive and there’s too many guns for me to handle. Which is better than the other? I can’t tell (besides the guns stats) another issue it earning mayhem during a level (I try to get 3 medals every level) but some are a large issue as for example I’m in a level killing guys and having a good combo but then I have to wait for major to run to the next cover then wait until the enemies appear and by then the combo is long gone please add objects which you can shoot during these areas to keep the combo so getting 3 medals is easier
MM1 was awesome! Play as much as you want, no timers, just don’t die. Grind enough and you can get the weapon/armor you want. Now you need to unlock the weapons THEN purchase it THEN upgrade it. It’s a poor experience. You also don’t get health/armor back for saving scientists like you used to. Annoying, but livable. Get...rid...of the...energy crap! I don’t want to wait 10-20min to get life to play another round if I’m having a binge day. Also, there’s a bug on level 26 where you can’t jump on the bike so you can’t dodge bullets. Fix it, and remove the energy.
I played the first game as soon as It came out and seen that the villain promised to conquer space and actually see it happen in the sequel is amazing.
<<<
-amazing graphics
-insane guns
-cool visual map that tells you where you at and how the levels progress
-challenging combat
-lots of types of enemies
-amazing bosses
-insane cinematography and acting movie scenes through levels
-it’s moderate to earn guns(is not easy and not hard at the same time)
<<<
-Energy system just Limits the gameplay and feels completely useless
-some levels are stupidly hard to gain mayhem required
-can’t get health or power-ups from hostages like in the first game
-the jump(dodge) action button should be in both sides of the screen or be an option to choose between left or right
-can’t customize like in the first game
-there are no mini games
<<<
-playing the first game and collecting all guns should provide you with a special loyalty reward for the second game
-Both games should promote each other for the success of both
-Multiplayer (co-op)
-More guns
-customization
-minigames
-more special effects when upgrading guns
I’m not gonna lie, this game is great and is somewhat addicting in a way, the only problem (or problems) is the inclusion of an energy system which slows the pace down a little too much. The second is one of the original problems from MM1 and it’s that weapons cost a bit too much and/or that you don’t earn much money playing. I know this game is supposed to be a bit challenging, but the the cash seems very minuscule or the value of it is too low. Again, this is great game all in all. The graphics are a nice mix between nice and cartoon-y, the weapons do seem to have some power behind them, I love how the enemies have a couple lines of dialogue during combat each with their own voices, the upgrade system is nice but is a bit expensive, the fact that you can unlock blueprints for weapons is also fine, but the only problem is you have to open chests that require you to watch ads to open them which is not that worth out as you have to wait several hours to open them. Hope this game does get those changes in the future.
I love this game, I think it’s awesome. I would like to see an update in gear and equipment. Like modern helicopters and desert camp. I think this game would be incredibly popular if there was 1. More characters 2. A story mode with with an actual team to help, and 3. A wider selection of vehicles. If there’s like a team to help you on story mode it would be funner. More characters to unlock would definitely up this game up. It’s still cool, but it shouldn’t just stay like this.👍
Really fun and well played on the way up.
I beat the game pretty quick, and now if I play at all it’s to grind away at maxing out the weapons.
There aren’t as many modes as the first game to stay active, still missing arcade and timebomb.
Rewards are kind of a joke. You get gold in the hundreds but all items and upgrades are in the thousands and ten thousands. So grindy, which is to be expected, but the grind lasts longer than the game, which kills its replayability.
This is a great game, and its free to play. The complaints about micro transactions are BS. Sure, they are there if you want, but there is no reason why you should do it if you don’t want to. It’s in-vogue to complain about them, and lacks any originality or attempt to critique the game (get off your lame, old-hat soap boxes). About the game, its smooth, and quick... the graphics and level design are beautiful. The team at rocket jump has ensured that you can get all the weapons as there is a limited number of blue prints available for each weapon, and eventually you will collect all blue prints and just be left with gold from chests. That being said, it’s pretty short for end game play, especially after you 3 star all missions and finished each achievement ( except for the 10 mil xp). Thank you rocket jump for a great FREE game!
I love this game I played for so long I pretty much have everything the only thing I would love is if we had more costumes to go with the guns and environment such as the plasma gun would love to see a costume that goes with it because having a futuristic gun with a Knight outfit seems kind of funny to me. anyway, this game needs more costumes to go with its guns/environment. 👍❤️
I played the original and the sequel is equally great with plenty of improvements. Better visuals with new ways to power up your weapons. I like the level selection map along with the ability to unlock blueprints for more gun boosts. Only downside is the loot box method and the removal of slot machine style of earning certain powerup boosts such as Robocop and air strikes. Online multiplayer lets me compete high scores with fellow players. Overall a absolutely gem of a game.
Great game but i wish there was an endless mode were everything is thrown at you and you go until you die and you only get 1 hit. I also wish the higher coin cases came up more often in the daily challenge. Please have the coin meter continue after it fills up. I have had well over 400 thousand for the survival and only half of it gets used after crates and the coin meter.
I rarely write reviews, in fact this is my first one. So you know the developers did something right, well, something absolutely amazing when I write one. That being said, the Major Mayhem 2 is a drastic improvement from its predecessor. Engaging gameplay, entertaining story with a changing setting to keep you interested, fun game modes, an impressive array of weaponry and gameplay mechanics- you can have it all if you download the game, which I highly suggest. Also, the perfect game whenever you lose internet access.
The micro transactions are there unnecessarily and the loot boxes will have you waiting for more time than your playing unless you willing to spend the money to open them. The gameplay is the same as the first one but that’s about the only good thing about it. What I’d recommend is while your loot boxes are opening, play MM 1
