I am a vocal coach who specializes in learning disabilities and I love this

This is a fantastic teaching tool. I I am a vocal coach and voice specialist who specializes in all kinds of things including ) PTSD trauma learning disabilities... brain damage you name it. Most of the time even the transitions of the keys if you’re going to transpose are right. If you’re an experience musician I suggest tapping it out on the piano just to make sure because computers aren’t always correct. One thing I would love especially when it comes to people who have visual learning disabilities in my studio is if there would be a way to put Chordify into a dark version? This would really help my studio and I think lots of other people who struggle with associating things visually. A darker screen would go along way and I think I would even be able to get some of my clients to sign up for the paid version like I am. Just a thought! Other than that it’s pretty fantastic. Really unique and useful app!

I love Chordify! Love that it shows chord finger diagrams for piano too. Love love love! Very happy and impressed I am. Not many other chord/tab apps support piano. I continually use Chordify to learn new songs everyday! Its surprising still that so many songs are chordified! And even multiple different live versions of the songs are chordified! That is impressive. And thank you to all that have contributed to this app songs. Sure, not all songs are accurate, but there are so many other versions of the song to pick from. So it's all good. I have no complaints. In fact, it encourages me to this app some songs that I know that aren't chordified yet.

My only suggestion to the developers is: please add a feature that will allow Chordify to automatically pull up the song that is currently playing in my Apple Music. That would be very helpful and time-saving. Thank you!

Upgrades

The keys/chords it list on most videos are okay, however, is not great or prefect. When you want to print chords is just the chords and not the lyrics. When one selects the option to change the key either higher or lower it does it however if you try to follow along the video you playing is out of pitch. Meaning it will not sound right. Would be nice to be able to change pitch while changing keys to be able to follow along. Also why not give the option to be able to print with the lyrics. One last note is that you can add favorites but you can not organize them by any way. It would be nice to be able to have playlist and rate songs and be able to categorize songs for example song list 1 for a church member that needs to practice certain songs and so for. A lot of improvement to be done app is good but could be great especially since it’s a subscription based. Hope you take the tips, thanks.

Excellent tool for learning to play with a group!

I love Chordify! If you want to get comfortable playing with others, this is the way to go. Type in a song name, or even a group’s name, and you’ll find a variety of options to choose from. Once you choose a song, play along with the original artists. If you don’t know the chord, just tap the View tab, and choose Diagram. My playing has improved tremendously since I started using this app.

My only request is that the option for 5-string banjo be included in the instrument options. Right now, I have to use my iPad for the music and chord names, but I have to keep my phone nearby to find the chord diagrams for chords that I don’t know. Including the banjo in instruments would be helpful.

Great app but I’m confused

This might be a long review this might be a short one I don’t know but I do know that I am severely confused on how to work Chordify. all I know how to do is search a song and listen to it. I came here from a video of Tate McRae, a singer and she said that she chose her song melodies and chords from Chordify but I don’t know what to do to make my own or to get ideas for a song. and all of the other reviews are talking about how great Chordify is when you wanna learn to play an instrument but I’m really confused on what to even do on Chordify. I’m gonna give it 3 stars because it doesn’t explain how to use Chordify (and don’t call me Karen for this it’s just my honest opinion and I think that they can improve on it.) Please answer my comment and tell me how to use this thing. also thanks for reading this long comment, it is a great app it just needs to be improved a little bit.

✌️Peace out fam!

Good app. Lots of fun. Room for improvement.

I have really enjoyed using this app to help me learn to play the guitar. I am modifying my previous review because as time has moved on, Chordify has not. It seems the developers have ignored their supporters. Multiple requests have been made to fix the issue in the IOS app where Chordify fails to return to the last song selected but goes to the end of the 25 song buffer that is programmed in. I can’t imagine this to be a difficult fix, but the request to do so has continually been ignored. The ability to sort and store one’s library has also been ignored. They continue to want renewal fees, but have failed miserably to update their app. Another year, and still no significant changes to the functionality of Chordify . It is difficult to manage the personal library. Editing in the IOS app has issues too.

Keeper

this app is a music app that fies chords. Hence, this app.
Henceforth, whence thou needeth many chords at your digit tips, the this app engine will crank out some letters with symbols like #, or b, or it might even have the elusive add9 or sus4. Now you’ll be able to play “All by myself “ for that beautiful young lady and you’ll no longer be “All by yourself.” You gots a hunny now you sneaky dog. BUT! NOT only will Chordify find your chords immediately, Chordify has a keyboard that gives you the ability to play the keyboard with many sounds. Like a synth pad or electric piano. There are so many more sounds. What I want to say is to convince or give you a little push to get Chordify : of all my wonderful music apps and synthesizers and what not, if I could only keep 3 apps on my phone, this app would be right in there. 5 stars yes!

Wow!

For someone just screwing around with an ukulele they found left in a park, Chordify has helped to boost my instrumental ability. The format is pretty user friendly, and while you don’t absolutely need all the premium features, I’m honestly contemplating paying for them! What you get off the bat are the essentials to learn with scrolling chord charts and timing squares. I would probably suggest setting the chord charts as the default, because they initially have just chord names, but you can change the setting if you’re not already familiar with them. And the fact you can look up anything that’s a music video and Chordify analyzes and breaks it down for you is AWESOME!!!

Good app but needs updates

I did a trial for Chordify and really used it for the week to see everything it offers. It’s great that the chords are in tune with the original song which you can play along to while video is playing. And you can print out song that includes chords and has chord names above. But what it’s really missing is the words to the song when you want to play along with print out or while following on app. That’s a biggie. Also while the chords are correct per se it doesn’t give you the more detailed chord such as sus, add, 9, Etc so again it’s the basic chord. Which is ok but if I want to learn how to Play the song I do want actual chords played by band. Also it expensive for the lack of these details and for an app like this. I get more on other apps for
So much less $$$$. But lack of lyrics is huge!!!!

Terrible app, it doesn’t work

Changing my original 2 stars to 1 star. App misses obvious chords, leaves blank measures. Messes up the rhythm, in particular at beginning of songs. Gets other chord change wrong. Chordify does not do what it claims to do. Period.
———————-original rating below——————
Not impressed so far
I am sure it is very difficult to program this type of app, but the accuracy of the cords is pretty low. Too low to be really useable in my opinion. Chordify program also seems to get confused by timing. Example, I was looking for the Al Jarreau version of Since I fell For You, clearly in 4/4 time and Chordify for some reason thinks it is 3/4 time. Additionally it appears the only chords it can find are 135 major and 135 minor chords. No major 7, no major 6, no diminished, etc. Far too basic for real music.
As a novelty Chordify is fun, but as a really usable app tool for generating the correct chords to a song, not so much. Hopefully there will be improvements in the future.

Too many bugs to count. Nonfunctional service.

This is a great concept, but almost every part of the execution is nonfunctional due to bugs.

Every song I import gives a message "this app is out of tune." Which I guess is a cute indirect way of saying " Chordify is buggy". I was eventually able to upload my songs through the website, but each one stalled several times.

Once converted, the timing is way off. It's almost comical listening to the chords on top of the music. It's almost exactly a beat behind, so the chords come crashing in a moment too late. I don't mind that it's not very accurate; the conversion is close enough I can figure it out, so kudos for that.

I try to share the chords, but the person on the other end just sees a "page cannot be displayed" error. Useless. So I'm taking screenshots and texting them instead.

I've received other errors too, like a message that I can't upload more songs because I've reached the limit. But when I try again it uploads fine. But then, as I mentioned before, it stalls or gives an error during the conversion process.

This is all happening with a premium account, by the way.

I've contacted their tech support about these issues. If they can resolve them, I'll update my review to reflect that. I really want it to work!

Love!!

After 30 years or so…. Felt the deep down need and desire to play again. I bought a new beautiful Acoustic 6string downloaded Chordify and despite my very sore fingertips…. I have a hard time putting down my new guitar as I refer to as a friend!!! Chordify is flipping amazing!!!! I purchased the year subscription and I am certainly going to use it!!! If this were around in the 80”s ……. Lol. I would’ve been a rockstar by now. Maybe wishful thinking, I am just loving your app! I went from not playing at all to, what can I learn next. Just add lyrics to your chords and that would be the best ever!!

The Best App ever created!!!

Being able to play guitar & piano through this incredible app this app has truly changed my life! You are my Pandora’s box to all songs, and I will be forever grateful for your creation! Thank you for being my lifeline to have the ability to play new and old songs without having a teacher. this app was my therapy before the pandemic, during & will be after. Most calming & enjoyable thing I can do with my spare time! I tell all those around me who play music about it, and will continue to do so! Thank you for making my life so much brighter! 🎼🎹🎸

Best application available

This is the best and highly recommended application available to enjoy playing music for music lovers like me. I have made a significant improvement learning new songs and being able to play with other more advanced music enthusiasts.
This application has thousands of songs ready to play in addition to any songs that I import from my own library with high accuracy.
I use the chords provided using my left hand and this helps me to follow the melody by ear.

Offline mode doesn't work

I love Chordify and have found it to be really helpful in learning to play the bass guitar. At the same time, I am really frustrated that offline mode doesn't work. this app won't play music files that reside on my iPad Air 2 unless I am online. I have provided screen prints and system logs to the developer. They tell me that the problem has only been reported on a very few devices. They don't seem to know the cause. I have offered to run whatever tracing/diagnostic tools they may wish to provide to better isolate the problem. But it just doesn't seem to be a priority to them. As a former software developer myself, I can't understand this attitude. If something is broken ... you figure out what the problem is and fix it. It's having pride in what you do.

They just want your money

It wasn’t long ago I could easily use my phone or tablet to play songs using their actual website...Now all of a sudden everything is different and buggy and doesn’t work....so I download Chordify like they want me to, but OF COURSE there has to be a monthly fee in order to even see all of the chords in a song. A song that I’ve used their website before to play, for free, but now they want money every month for....its sad and ridiculous, I just want to play my ukulele without a monetary attachment is that so much to ask? Ugh. And they even say that Chordify makes learning songs “10x easier” HAHA yeah, it’s actually 100x harder to use their program than it was 6 months ago. Very disappoint. Sometimes things change for the worse and this is a prime example.

???

I am confused, someone told me Chordify rocks, and they play a piano, and I do too. But I don’t understand because it plays as a guitar, and I want it as the piano, and I can change it to a piano, but how they told me it was easy to use, but for me it does not seem to be easy. (And not to be rude but she is... dumb....) and she can’t play piano at all, and I can play, but still, I don’t how to do it. And I don’t know how to come up for the piano part of a song I made, and they said it makes up or helps with a song they are making, but it doesn’t do that, it only tells you how to play a song that is already made up. Sorry that this makes no sense, but I don’t know how to word it at all!

Amazing app, but...

Let me start off and say that I think Chordify is really well done. It does everything it says it will do, and it works great. I love the option that you can select guitar, ukulele, and piano. I just wish it also had violin! This would make Chordify even better. There are many songs that I would love to be able to play on the violin. Including one I have been trying to find any type of sheet music for months now. I still think Chordify is really amazing, if the creators could add an option to choose a violin It would make me so happy!! 😁

Too Expensive - Great App

I have been using Chordify since the free version. It is an excellent app for finding music for your favorite songs. However, a monthly subscription fee is absurd. I have noted the trend now by app developers is to attach a monthly fee for use of their app. I would rather pay for Chordify and use it at my discretion. This is greed and a ripoff. How much money do you think the average aspiring musician has laying around? Nearly a $100 per year for use of Chordify is consumer a consumer heist. I am extremely disappointed developers have chosen this route.

Change the type?

So I have limits on apps from my parents wanting me to be off my phone, which is ok, but this isn’t an app I use just to mess around. I want to learn an instrument and with the limits on ‘entertainment’ type apps, I can only be on Chordify for half an hour. That’s not helpful, idk. Would you please change it to ‘teaching’? Idk if you can, but it is a teaching app and it’s be lovely to work with it more, since it’s such an amazing app otherwise. Thank you! Plz read

Terrible App

Chordify always has missing and wrong chords. I’ve also find this out, Im on an iPhone 7 Plus fyi. If you search up a song, the top result will take about 5-8 minutes, all the others work just fine, I hate my experience on Chordify and before I figured out that little top result glitch I was almost pushed to snapping my phone in half, thanks this app, I now have a damaged phone from all the times I’ve thrown it with no case!

Eh it’s alright

It has some issues but it’s the best app for playing songs you like.
some issues:
There’s only a limited number of songs/videos that come up when you search. Also when you search, you’ll get the “oops” message that comes up whether you’re connected to the internet or not. It’s frustrating. It goes away when you click retry, but sometimes you have to click it several times for something to show up. When you try to remove a song from your history, it also takes several tries to click the three dots at the corner because it keeps clicking on the song instead.

Favorites

I love Chordify and use it all the time. Every once it awhile it will act kind of jittery though and it’s frustrating. For instance sometimes when I’m scrolling through my favorites and choose a song, when I exit out it scrolls me ALL THE WAY back to the top. Not a huge deal but I do have over 200 songs saved and it definitely is an inconvenience. Also sometimes when I favorite a song it doesn’t show up in my library even after I go back and make sure I have favorited it. Other than that great app and super helpful!

I don’t have a title 😐

I gave it a 4 because I am just a beginner pianist and I have no money to pay for the premier. My parents wanted me to learn the piano to play at our church. I can’t do anything other than just playing along with, which is great but I need to learn more. I hope there can be piano lessons too or how memorize the notes faster or something to help students like me learn how to play faster and better in like 3 months. But Chordify has helped me a lot. I searched everywhere for it. Thank you foe making Chordify.

The best app I've ever bought

You will not regret getting a subscription to Chordify. I can't play by ear but there are so many songs I want to play and can't find chords for online. Now I can play anything, change the key to suit me better and already written out for me? How could it be any better? Thank you this app you have no idea how much I appreciate your app. I'll gladly pay premium!

Chords in app

Although Chordify does not get every particular chord right, it does just enough for you to figure out the chords on your own. If you have been playing for a while and you hear a new song that your stuck on Chordify will give you an idea where to start. You might have to transition the keys on the diagram to get the right sound but it is worth downloading. I don’t recommend this for beginners but more for people who have been playing for about 4-9 months depending on how fast of a learner you are. But, every time I get on Chordify I learn a song.
