Speeko - Public Speaking Coach Reviews

I'm incredibly impressed by Speeko and the variety of exercises it offers! While I consider myself to be a decent public speaker and I don't use Speeko daily, it has still helped me build confidence and discover and fine-tune my own voice when communicating with others. I work in healthcare and speak with patients and their loved ones every day. If I know I'm about to have a difficult conversation about a patient's diagnosis or the death of a loved one, this app helps me warm up and coaches me away from my anxiety and into a voice that is authentic, genuine, and human-centered. That is what I love about this app. It's not about speaking perfectly. It's about speaking in our authentic voice to connect with the people around us. I hope more people can discover Speeko and use it as a tool for speaking authentically during those important moments in our lives.

P.S. The exercises are fun and silly in themselves and the graphics are incredibly cute. Kudos to the developers and their hard work!

I’m a teacher so I’m used to being in front of a group of kids , but I hate to present in front of parents parents and other groups because I’ve always hated public speaking. I’ve thought about joining ToastMasters groups but don’t feel comfortable enough, so I’m glad there’s an app for this. I like that I can choose when to get reminders , how easy it is to use and the instant evaluation and feedback. The graphics are fun and I like the random topics to practice speaking in private on my own. I am wondering if the short lecture type lessons can be made into quick bits of information embedded within the lessons. I just started using Speeko , and I’m enjoying it and if there is a way for more motivation/ reminders of streaks during the day especially if I miss my daily lesson I would choose that option as well. Highly recommend it

This is probably my favorite app I have ever downloaded! I literally use it every day, and I love going back and listening to old recordings to hear the progress I have made. My favorite part of Speeko is the Random Topic generator because it forces you to think fast, and allows you to review your results every two minutes, so that you can instantly apply what you should be doing better in the next speech.

To the developers:
First off... well done.
Second, it would be cool if the performance review metrics had a number attached to them. I like to really dive into the reviews to figure out what I can be doing better, and it would be nice if they had an exact score. Then with those scores, you could have a number tracking your overall growth. Just a thought, but at the end of the day, great app.

There are many books, videos and podcasts on communication but practice is key. Speeko is BRILLIANT and works seamlessly to help users practice all key aspects of oral communication from speech making to impromptu conversations. And the preview lessons are great. My kids and I enjoy using it during and after dinner. When I practice in the morning, I notice better conversation and communication throughout the day and I have definitely improved over time. For anyone seeking to improve their everyday or formal speaking skills, Speeko is well, well worth it! One day soon “like” will be eliminated as a filler in my kids’ conversations! 😁 I don’t know how they did it, but these developers created the very tool we needed!

I found Speeko a year ago before anyone I knew had even heard of it. Been using to practice,record, and keep track of all my Toastmasters speeches ever since. My fellow toasties have been asking me how I’ve improved so much in such a short period of time. So I just had to share this handy dandy virtual Public Speaking coach and all it has to offer. It’s been a game changer for how I practice my speeches now. And how else are you going to get practice for those ever present and too often avoided table topics. Speeko helps with that too. Table topics get easier the more your able to practice them. I also tend to talk too fast when I get excited or nervous and Speeko will help you with the pace of your speech.
I just love it!!!!

Hands down the best public speaking app in the market. I downloaded Speeko as I had to make a speech. My public speaking skills was definitely my weakest skill set. Speeko is amazing. Filled with so much tips. Not only will it improve your public speaking skills, but it addresses other areas such as fear, anxiety and nervousness.

I downloaded another app as well but I ended up sticking with this app as it was superior in every way.
For a full month before the day of my speech, I was using Speeko. I love how you can also practice and record your speech within Speeko and get feedback. Needless to say, when the day came for my speech, I absolutely crushed it. Everyone that heard me came up to me and said they loved the speech and that I looked and sounded so calm and natural, little do they know, I was extremely nervous but we can keep that a secret.

I will continue using Speeko everyday to improve. It’s definitely an investment that will help you in life.

I love Speeko. I have literally no enough words to describe how supper helpful Speeko is.
It is encouraging, engaging, meaningful skill learning, user friendly, practical, smart and fun.
I am really enjoying the process of improving my speech and presentation skills not only for my job but also in life. It is also so a wonderful pronunciation tool specially when English is not your mother language. The instant feedbak you get is so helpful.
The confidence ones develop by doing all the courses and exercises.

Generally the free version is so limited they might as well make you pay for Speeko right off the get go. Maybe I’m missing something. Just disappointed that the free version is so limited!

On the bright side though, the developers were smart because the voice of the narrator is energetic and fun!! (I mock Pearson MyMathLab narrator for an extremely monotone voice). (we know math is a boring subject, let’s at least make it fun) Ok I’m getting off topic but hope you get my point!! I encourage you to check it out and please DO NOT ever switch to a narrator that’s dull and boring!! He could use Speeko!

I was enjoying Speeko until I got to the eloquence section of the “Vocal Delivery Basics”. I would give a speech, careful to use pauses instead of filler words, and then it would give me a poor rating and said I used 17 filler words. (Another problem is that they don’t even tell you which filler words you used). The button to replay my recording was also non-functional.
I then did the same exercise and purposefully used a ton of filler words (like, um, uhhhh) in every sentence, and they gave me a good grade and said I had used only 6 and that I had spoken fluently.
After that, I feel like I really can’t trust Speeko’s accuracy, and at the current price, that’s a big problem. I would like to hear if the developer plans on fixing this problem because I think Speeko has great potential.

Let me first stay that there’s no magical pill that will take you from zero to Steve Jobs, when wanting to become a more confident and charismatic speaker.

With that being said, I want to cover how this app has been helping me become an overall better speaker in personal and professional settings. First, I have a nasally voice and I often get very self-conscious when giving speeches for my day job. this app’s amazing practice routines is literally like a ‘Toastmasters’ in your pocket so you can practice wherever you feel comfortable- my introverted self loves this option.

Lastly, the option to book a 1:1 session is a great option to take a more in depth deep dive and get feedback in real time.

Overall, I’m pleased with Speeko, and I plan on using this daily along with Duolingo and Headspace to become my best self in 2021.

As a person who has always struggled with public speaking, having a convenient way to practice these skills daily and get immediate feedback has been so helpful. I have noticed the difference in my speaking habits. I wish there had been something like this years ago. Also Speeko has a section with job interview questions, which is such a service! Speeko is pricey but worth it.

I downloaded this app with two other similar apps, and deleted the other two after trying all out for a week. this app strikes a good balance among voice exercises, instruction videos, and impromptu speaking topics. I also particularly like the “stats” section where I could see how I do (and improve) in each area.

One thing I find frustrating, though, is that there isn’t enough demonstration on HOW I could vary my pitches. I wish there could be a side by side comparison of a flat speech and a more colorful speech. Or have this app point out where in my recording that I could vary my pitch, and how to accomplish that. Instead, I’m only receiving a generic feedback that I sound robotic, without concrete advice on how to fix it.

Meanwhile, after being around 10 days in, I’m already done with 1/4 of the whole course. I look forward to seeing more content coming out to make my annual subscription worthwhile.

Earlier this month I attended a friends wedding. It was my first in person event since 2019 and I was excited!

However, after only an hour of mingling at the reception I realized what two years of working remotely had done to my ability to talk. Not only had I lost my ability to speak clearly - I had talked so much more than I was used to that I was literally losing my voice!

Something had to change…

The next morning I installed this app. For the past two weeks I’ve been using their guided lessons and warm-ups to gradually improve different aspects of my speech. It’s been great! I especially love the ‘random prompt’ exercises.

Thanks to this app the next wedding I attend I’ll be embarrassing myself less at the cocktail hour and more on the dance floor!

I have a lot of anxiety about how I speak in just regular conversations. Speeko is helping me learn to overcome that anxiety and it’s actually enjoyable. The information is presented in a really fun way and the graphics are so cute. I love the bite-sized lesson format so you can do as much or as little as you want. And I’m surprised at how much is accessible in the free version. Definitely considering upgrading. Content and app developers all get an A+.

This is definitely one of my favorite new apps! I just downloaded it a week ago and I am already noticing an improvement in my speaking voice and pace. I love how you can practice pretty much any time anywhere and how easy this is to fit into your daily routine. I highly recommend Speeko to anyone who wants to feel more confident in their speaking voice!

I bought Speeko 3 weeks prior to my defence of my doctor of nursing practice degree. I followed a simple plan and use Speeko daily.
Using Speeko allowed me to practice so much that I took off excesive content and to address difficult phrasing.
Because Speeko provides a neat transcript, I was able to cut and paste the portions in which my speech was clearer and focused.
I would highly recommend it.

I’ve worked with public speaking coaches and paid for the one-on-one services to improve my public speaking skills. Then I found Speeko that’s a game changer. It covers almost everything you can get from a speaking coach. And the experience of using Speeko makes me feel like whoever made Speeko is not only brilliant but also has a heart!! Highly recommend!

I’ve always struggled with public speaking and never figured out how to get past the fear of speaking in front of an audience. Using this app for roughly 5 minutes every couple days has really helped me control my fear of public speaking and has helped me become a more confident speaker overall! For so long, I’ve struggled with effectively communicating with my co workers. Creating great ideas and executing tasks efficiently are fantastic but they mean nothing if you can’t communicate them correctly. this app taught me how to do this and ever since my career has gone up another level. I’m able to communicate with my peers and go into interviews with confidence. Thanks this app team! You guys are doing something truly special.

BUT what’s great is even with the free trial version you can do a lot with Speeko. So it’s easy to see if you want to be subscribed to the service.

I recommend downloading Speeko and just trying it out before missing out on it!!!

I’ve always had trouble with my speech. My communication skills were lacking confidence, appropriate tone, enthusiasm, and the list goes on. As soon as I found Speeko, I thought it was as if it was made for me! Lol
But in all seriousness, if you struggle with speech, please do yourself a favor and download it. It’s that beneficial.

Helped me get over social anxiety by learning to vary my tone. You don’t really know how the intonation of your voice affects your career and relationships until you’ve tried Speeko. Not only it fun to use but it also has changed my life by making me less self-conscious when I speak.

Very clean and aesthetic user interface, but the real catch are the lessons and the analysis they give you to improve different aspects of your speech. This is a great practice tool for when you’re not yet confident with a presentation but want to be!

this app made me feel so prepared and confident when practicing my public speaking! It focused in on a lot of the things that I can’t necessarily pick up on while practicing such as tone intonations that really make for an effective public speaker. Truly ground breaking stuff!

I like using apps like this (ie Duolingo) that help you learn a new skill over time. I haven’t gotten thru all of the lessons yet but I really like the instant feedback and flow of the lessons. Speeko itself is very solid and usable.

When I first saw what Speeko was about, I realized that there is no other app like this! It is so helpful for anyone looking to work on their speaking skills! I can already feel the improvement!!
