Countdown: Simple Timer Reviews

Fantastic little timer that has no clutter. It is helpful for me to record my physical therapy stretch routines and have the timer doing all the counting (ex: left knee to chest for 30 seconds...switch knees 30 secs...)

It would be nice if I could set the timer to do a string of timers. For example, 30 seconds that repeated ten times. The timer beeping is four beeps which is just enough time to switch sides or adjust positions. Really love Countdown and appreciate its simplicity.

Simple, does what it should do. No annoying features, nothing to distract you. I use it at the gym every day.

What's not to like about this timer? It is programmable up to 30 minutes, and I really like being able to set 3 different frequently-used time increments. I would have given Countdown 5 stars, but the volume is low, so you can't place it across the room and expect to hear it when it beeps. :(

Settings are very annoying, not simple at all. Drag to change time?? Takes forever to drag and have it count down. UI is very difficult to navigate. Was so annoyed after a couple minutes that I quickly uninstalled.

Countdown is simple and I love it. Everyone should get it.

Now the audible alarm doesn’t work when the timers hit 0:00, so Countdown is pretty much useless to me.

With the new update the end alarm does not always sound

Nice user interface

I've been searching for a timer that could be set for intervals less than a minute long (unlike the iOS Clock) and it has been surprisingly hard to find — until now. this app is a simple timer that let's you program up to 3 different intervals from a minimum of 0m:10s to a maximum of 30m:00s. If you need more time than that you can always switch to the iOS clock, which has a maximum interval of 23h:59m. All I want to do is rest :30s between exercises at the gym instead of 1m and this free app meets the need perfectly without any advertising or necessary in-app purchases. Thank you for Countdown!

I use Countdown constantly, after trying a bunch.

For icing (I'm recovering from surgery)
For exercise - timing planks or bridges, etc.
For cooking, too.

Why is it SO much better than the native iOS timer?
1. Provides smaller increments(<1min)
2. Three customizable pre-sets for frequent use
3. Alert sound is 3 chimes and it does not require a touch to subdue it (unlike iOS). Perhaps a stove timer should keep buzzing, to keep you from burning your food. But for many other applications, you want your music or TV show to resume after you've had a chance to hear the chimes.
4. Doesn't have infinite number of increments. It has 1, 2, 3 minutes, but eventually skips to 20, 25, 30 min. This makes it easier to find a desired duration

It's also visually clean, instead of being like an airplane cockpit.

Very easy to use. My only pain point is that I can’t use this in a library or quiet place because the timer will make a sound even if I switch the phone to silent. If Countdown can respect the silence switch and just vibrate, that’d be perfect.

Handy, simple app, very useful for exercising. I wish there were more alarm tone options, or an option to add custom tones. I don’t like one tone currently offered. The ability to add one or two more timers would also be nice.

It doesn’t sound while having other apps open so if you’re listening to music you must keep this one up or you won’t hear it go off.

Many workouts benefit from sequencing various short intervals. Countdown is great because it is so straightforward and unfussy. It does countdowns perfectly; it doesn’t do anything else. Having limitations is a very big plus.

As good as simple.
But I just don't understand why the upper limit for count down is only 30 minutes?
I guess at least it should be like something up to 24 hours?

20 & 30 min ones for recipes!!!

Would like more second options as in 15, 20, 25, 30, etc. Some more sound options would be nice as well but otherwise this is a great minimalistic timer app. Maybe it's to much to ask for more color options? Maybe a 50 cent add on for them?

I love Countdown! A big thank you to the developer. Countdown is straightforward, easy to read, easy to use. Screens are simple. Perhaps best of all, there are no ads or nags to buy anything.
