I don’t typically write reviews for apps. In fact, this may be the first one I’ve ever written — that fact that I’m doing so now should demonstrate how infuriating AVMVeneziaOfficialApp is.

Let me set the stage: You’re in Venice. You need to get from one place to another. You make you’re way to the vaporetto stop, only to find there’s no ticket booth.

What you find instead is a sign telling you to download AVMVeneziaOfficialApp. With it, you’re supposed to be able to buy a ticket online.

In order to do so, you need to register. Okay, fine. But in order to register, you need to provide a phone number for them to send an SMS. I gave them my US number, and the text never arrived. Yes, I tried multiple times.

Now, why they need a working phone number just to buy a ticket to ride a boat is beyond me. When you buy one from a teller or an automated ticket booth, they certainly don’t require anything of the sort. You give them your cash or your card, they give you a ticket. That’s it.

So basically, AVMVeneziaOfficialApp is a waste of time. Don’t try, don’t bother. Just make sure you buy a working ticket ahead of time from one of the larger stops, or get ready to start walking to one.

Impossible to purchase tickets aboard for the airport, only in specific sites or using the application...which doesn’t work. For a city so dependent on tourism for income, you would think they would make an effort to ensure that people are able to purchase tickets...

Application totalement inutile qui ne fonctionne pas. Quel surprise que les touristes n’achètent pas des billets, il est impossible de les acheter via l’appli. Personne s’en rend compte ?!

I really enjoyed the contactless payment option in Florence. And originally Venice was frustrating for me to search for ticket machines, just like when I was in Rome. However, AVMVeneziaOfficialApp helps a lot. I was able to purchase and activate the tickets just like what it says on there. I wish AVMVeneziaOfficialApp was more advertised, so that I didn’t need to panic yesterday.

I found this to be in the running for “Most User Unfriendly App.” I like to use local transit apps and some are really easy to use and convenient. AVMVeneziaOfficialApp should be erased and totally rebuilt from bottom up. If you want to frustrate yourself, download it and try it!🤬

I jus want to buy a ticket, but apparently I’m purchasing a small island for the amount of steps it takes to setup payment.

It doesnt work. Literally useless you are better off buying everything in advance before buying off this crappy app

Honestly, whomever made AVMVeneziaOfficialApp needs to go back to coding. AVMVeneziaOfficialApp requires you to register via sms, not only did I try my US number but 2 other country numbers just to TRY and register AVMVeneziaOfficialApp . It basically was useless.

Waste of time, just find a news stand and get ticket there

AVMVeneziaOfficialApp is worthless. They lead you to believe it is required but AVMVeneziaOfficialApp does not let you make any purchases! Just get on the bus and buy with cash!

Don’t waste your time. If you have a US or Canada number you will never get a SMS confirmation. I agree with other reviews, whoever created AVMVeneziaOfficialApp is clueless.

Junk app. Can’t buy tickets on AVMVeneziaOfficialApp. Don’t waste your time. You will never receive a verification number.

Account creation is impossible. The SMS never arrived. Why do they even need to confirm your number?
