I was able to mirror my older MacBook to my new iPad, but I was not able to control my MacBook with my IPad. My MacBook has a broken screen and I have to connect it to an external monitor. I was hoping I could just keep it closed and plug it into my iPad to see and control it. Unfortunately it didn’t work, maybe if I connected it a different way? I connected from my MacBooks USB-A to my IPads USB-C. Maybe if I went from MacBooks Thunderbolt(mini display port) to IPads USB-C (if that’s possible) would I get better results? I don’t have chords/adaptors for that, don’t want to spend money unless I know it will work. I tried tweaking what is mirrored on my computer, that was a mistake, fixing things afterwards is too complicated to explain, but I’m not pleased. I just keep thinking, if I had bought that computer a few months later, I would be able to use side car and I wouldn’t have to deal with the useless third party apps.

I was going to wait and get a little more experience before writing a review but since it keeps demanding I write one or buy the paid version every seven minutes, here goes. It works. The cursor is not laggy, but anything you do on the iPad is very laggy - i.e. If you move a window or run the cursor over the apps in the dock, there is a very big lag. I haven't used any other similar apps to compare.

I've just tried it for a bit, the app prompted me to review it or buy it, so I'd say it works pretty well, I'm using a Macbook Air 2015 with an iPad Air 2, a recommendation for those with similar products: run it in the 30 FPS power saving mode rather than 60 FPS as I found that 60 FPS was quite laggy on the iPad. Also, there is quite a bit of lag when opening Mission Control, but if you can stand that or don't use Mission Control often it should be good.
