First off, I didn’t want this thing but was sent anyways. Thanks, Daphne. I had no idea my whole policy hindered on using this thing. So literally, it is use this or you get your policy cancelled.
So I go to set this up - not only does it need to connect to your WiFi, which is fine.. but also you need to download a smartphone app. Notion requests for you to allow them to track your location, AND allow access to your mic, camera, and photos while being cleverly packaged as this “super sensor” when all this really is is a way for this company to farm your personal information just so they can sell it all to a third party for whateveR reason and to profit of of you!!! WAKE UP PEOPLE. Why does a sensor need access to all my personal stuff? It’s all for data and for money and we just eat it up and accept it while companies like this get fatter pockets off of us normal human beings just trying to insure our homes to live . I will activate this thing just so my policy doesn’t cancel but I promise I will burn these and be removing Notion shortly after. I recommend you all do the same. Thank you for reading

I needed to remove a sensor from my window but, it was extremely difficult to remove. I called this app and was told to try several things including using a blow dryer to remove the sensor. I made the mistake of trying this and it cracked my window. The sensor still would not come off. They don’t just “pop off” as their marketing materials and website say.

I followed up with this app and Julian multiple times and was told they would not accept responsibility for this incident which would be covered under their General/Product Liability assuming they purchase this insurance. Unfortunately, my homeowners deductible is 1% of my home value or over $3,000.

I have also raised this issue with the BBB and Hippo, my current insurance company who recommended that I use this app in the first place.

I am VERY disappointed that they would not step up and take responsibility for their bad advice. I am still hoping they can pay for the repair of this window but, it appears that they will not.

I strongly recommend that everyone use a more reputable security vendor. This is not the way to treat a valued customer.

The bridge uses the iOS app to scan networks known to your phone. However it skips right past the one all my devices are connected to with no discernible reason and tries to connect to some unsecure open wifi in the neighborhood instead. When I attempt to find my own network, it is unlisted.

Lack of diagnostics or the ability to put in the information myself makes setup finnicky and I see no way to proceed. The network equipment is all brand new using the latest encryption standards. Personally, I would have preferred a hardwired unit for the bridge as it removes an additional failure point (water heater burst but your wireless access point is down? Tough luck).

My husband downloaded Notion, bought the sensors and he’s the only one who can see and use Notion . He’s invited me 3x and I’ve downloaded Notion followed the instructions and I still am unable to join his account or use Notion . I’ve reset the password, created a new account, tried using a different email, deleted and reinstalled Notion - you name it and I’ve tried it. So don’t waste your time or money on this unless you’re single and don’t want a joint account

Unfortunately the links on Notion are out of date. When you press configure, nothing happens. The links do not work even when you have strong WiFi. In the footnotes, I believe hippo may try to sneak Notion in the contract, but you’ll never see it. I still haven’t seen it in any contract. I never agreed to this. Perhaps they want to get themselves off the hook, and not be responsible for covering you. But they should! Notion requires out of date QR codes that do not work. I’ve tried to reset. Over again over a message says the bridge has not been reset. But when you reset it, it does not work.

I put a sensor up on my front and back door each. In the first 24 hours, I received upwards of 20 total door open/close notifications while I was home, with maybe 6 total actual actions taking place. What’s the point of smart sensors/alarms when it trains you to ignore them with constant false alarms? Throwing out this garbage and deleting my account and app. Hope whoever they’re selling all this data to from the free sensors knows just how spotty the information really is.

We got the this app security because of a discount on our insurance policy. I was fine with it and they were easy to set up. I put it on our front door to track when it opened. It worked okay for about a day and now I get about 50 notifications a day saying the door is opening. This needs to be fixed and is in unacceptable for a security company. If this system isn’t going to work, I would like to get rid of it without any change to my policy or get my system to work properly like I was promised when it was mentioned to me. Please let me know what you can do about this this app.

This product was easy to set up and at first I really liked it. It worked and I knew when the doors were being opened in the house because I set my phone up for notifications. Unfortunately a week after using it would just randomly go off during the middle of the night and really scare me to death because my husband works away from home sometimes and I didn’t know what to think. Good for me no one was in the home but it would glitch and go off randomly all the time. I just ended up taking them off the doors unplugging from the wall and I’m planning on throwing them away and deleting Notion. Kinda makes me upset wasting time doing something for it to act the way it did. I should have read the reviews.

First, i was very pleased to receive it from my insurance Hippo...

But after hours and many attempts to set up correctly this promising system, having to reset it many times, i’m totally disappointed by this gadget, not sync properly, failed to connect, i moved the bridge and sensors many times from one location to another and followed their instructions, still not working.

If a system fails while you’re installing it. How can i be sure this thing will alert me and work when i will need it to perform ???

I contacted their customer service hours ago, still waiting for an answer... I’m not a newbie with this kind of systems, i already have NEST and CANARY which work well.

this app really needs to come up with something serious... For me, this thing is going back into the box and hopefully will be recycled... Useless.

I got this for free as part of my home insurance. The sensors and bridge were easy to set up and were up and running right away. Great concept, I thought. I have one of the sensors on my front door. Unfortunately, it incorrectly alerts me that my door has been opened. I'll be sitting in my living room looking at the closed door and receive a notification that the door just opened. Thankfully I realized this over the weekend and knew to pay it no mind. Imagine the horror if I had been at work the first time I received this erroneous notification. I tried calibrating it like the manual recommended, but it does not seem to be learning anything. I live alone and it's midnight right now. I'm in bed. Just received a notification that my front door has been opened...

Installed a sensor on Garage shutter, Notion notifies when it opens BUT doesn’t send notification when it is closed? You have to go into Notion to check it. Now think about this, you got your open notification and you drive down half a mile and to check that you closed the shutter you need to open Notion and confirm?
Hi Devs, fixing this will make Notion more useful I hope you will provide an update.

I put a sensor on the kitchen window hoping to utilize it for both break ins through the window and a smoke alarm. Unfortunately the sensor can’t do both at the same time. If you set it to sense when the window is opened the only other additional options are leaks and room temp. I set it at room temp in hopes that would alert me to a fire in the same way the smoke alarm would.

Other than that, really easy setup and Notion seems easy to use.

The device works well except sometimes it had the blue light flashing then I had to remove and read the bridge.

Also, why don’t you show the bridge’s MAC address in Notion ? It’s useful for us to id unknown devices in the network.

I like Notion . It’s straightforward. Are you considering the integration with SmartThings in the near future? I’m using the sensor to monitor if my garage door is open or not but I have to use a virtual switch with on/off capabilities instead of open/close ones. Thanks

I previously gave this a bad review because my system was all off line and my door kept sensing my door and my neighbor’s door. I finally talked to a very nice young lady and she was great. She was kind and patient and helped to get my system on track for me. She finally fixed my frustration and anxiety over this Gen 3 system. So far all is well!

I’ve had one since the kickstarter and we have had our ups and downs with the this app, like false positives or battery issues. The product hardly has any issues now once set and the only time lately we have to do anything with it is to replace the occasional battery. Also, the customer service has always been nice and friendly towards us when any issues do arrise.

Works well most of the time. Whenever there is a glitch with WiFi it can be a problem and or batteries which is seldom. We love this app and their customer service is awesome. Highly recommend this product as we like being in charge of our own surveillance.

Not sure what the last several reviews had issues with as mine was as simple as it could get. Downloaded Notion , followed the instructions and had multiple sensors up and running within 10-15 minutes. Tested all of the sensors and updates are working perfectly through my phone as well.

Notion provides all I need to alert me with any key concerns at home. Very easy to set up. But I would suggest that they make the glue pads for the sensors easy to be remove as needed and also enable notifications whenever the garage door moves (open or closed). It would be very helpful as I always wonder if I have closed the garage door when I leave home.

this app has been great for our family home, peace of mind when gone, and great when there for door alerts of kids coming and going. Simple and easy to use, no connection issues with latest version.

I’m using a number of sensors in a second home for leak, smoke, temperature and garage door monitoring. I had to iterate a bit in positioning my bridge, but other than that, it’s been very easy for over a year. I think as long as you realize that you need to ensure central positioning of the bridge and are willing to adjust, this is a great system. No monthly fees, an app that works great for me and good customer service.
