Manager for Digital Ocean Reviews

When I first bought Manager, it had a bug causing it to crash when using a certain function. I emailed the dev to file a bug report, and within TWENTY MINUTES I had a response explaining that he was aware of the bug and that a fix was coming within a few days. Sure enough, the fix arrived quickly, and Manager has been flawless ever since. As a plus, it also authenticates through the API, so you don’t have to worry about Manager grabbing your credentials or anything worrisome. Awesome app, highly recommend it.

I’m still new to virtual machines and servers, and Manager makes it simple to spin up a new droplet with the features I want and manage it when I’m not home.

It does everything I could want and need, and doesn’t burden me down with nested or obscure menus. Great Job developers, and great job DigitalOcean for hiring clever developers!

This is literally a jewel for us sysadmins to be able to manage our servers right from our pockets.
So simple, fast and reliable.
You should get Manager if you are a DigitalOcean lover/constant user.

It’s amazing the amount of technology afforded at your fingertips with this application. I would highly recommend it to anyone who needs immediate access and control over their virtual systems.

For me Manager it’s great for managing your droplets in DigitalOcean. I found all the features that I use. I just don’t found the firewall and load balancers feature please add it as soon as you can. Everything else it’s fine. Thanks

I’ve used Manager to monitor my VMs while out and about. It’s pretty good- looks nice, and has all the bells and whistles. They even have a DNS editor!

The only thing it needs is the ability to view monitoring graphs for CPU and memory. Otherwise, an excellent app.

Finding a third party app of this quality is rare. The advanced functionality and beautiful UI blend together very well. It’s super convenient just to open the mobile app and manage my droplets. Wonderful work, Henrique!

Definitely the best of all the DigitalOcean clients on Manager Store. Would love to see support for more features in the future.

Great app fits perfectly for my use case of occasionally needing to check in on my servers when I’m out and about.

Only issue is a small bug where I’m unable to select a region when setting up a new droplet.

Manager won’t list any of my droplets, it tells me that feature is not available. Also, the developer’s email bounces back and the website is offline, so it seems to me Manager is not updated and not currently supported.

I logged in to my DO account, brought up the Droplet View, watched it spin for a while without showing any results.

Tried again a few hours later and got a pop up message that I could not view the data.

Simple, straightforward, works very well.

I’ve been able to do a lot with Manager. Now I can take snapshots, get rid of others, and creat droplets while having coffee. This is awesome.

Where is the firewall control?

When creating new droplet I can’t seem to select region as there’s no region displayed. Not sure how many stars to give so I’ll put a 3 for now.

The only thing I see missing is the performance graphs in the DO portal.

Before I even thought about purchasing Manager , I sent the developer an email asking about some privacy concerns (the Privacy Policy page on his site isn’t up). To my surprise, they responded within a few minutes (though since I had class I didn’t see it until now). If you also have privacy concerns, read this. As said in his reply email, he does not have a server for Manager. Everything goes through the Digital Ocean API directly to Manager . He does not have access to anything. And if he did add anything that would collect data (like analytics), there would be a notice in advance.

So basically, Henrique and his app are definitely trustworthy. As well, Manager looks great and has a host of functionality, with more to come later. If you can’t get it now, put it on your wishlist because it’s worth the $4.

Developer of app submitted a fix after I purchased and commented (see the last below). The snapshot creation works but the submit feedback button still crashes. Henrique I tried to contact you outside Manager store ui but the support link in Manager store goes to a placeholder page.
Manager has some nice features I haven't seen in some others I've tried. Developer was quick in response to help and fix. Looking good sor far!

I’m using iPhone 6s Plus, iOS 11.6.2

Some more thoughts:
1. Give users a way to contact you outside of Manager store.
2. When a domain name is added and it already exists I see the popup error saying it already exists but then I need to back out of the screen and then go back into the new domain interface to try again even though the form to try again is still there.
3. Give the user a way to click and copy information like ip addresses.
4. Give the user a way to delete all records for a domain at once. Currently need to do one at a time.
5. When all records are deleted the domain is still listed in domains. I couldn't find a way to delete that so I had to go to the digitalocean site and do it there.

Old review: App crashes when trying to create snapshot and submit feedback via app. Gave up there.

I love Manager. I like that I am able to easily and quickly create and recycle droplets on the fly right from my phone (which is something I always have on me and almost always has internet connection). I especially like the fact that I can manage my Domains and Records. So far, I haven’t had any issues with Manager. Steady performance ever since I’ve had it.

Perhaps this is somewhat out of scope for Manager , but it would be cool to see and manage Kubernetes clusters as well as Spaces and objects.

Overall, this is well worth the very small one-time purchase, and I highly recommend to any avid DigitalOcean users/developers.
