Great Beginning

It does what it says it will as far as monitoring devices on a wireless network and sends notifications when a new device logs on.
It naturally does not have Be ability to block devices since that is handled through your router.
It would improve the functionality of multiple iOS devices with WiFiGuard installed could shared custom names as it is each instance of the device must be manually kept in sync.
Pulling information reliably would be nice as well such as MAC addresses. This would allow for blocking that MAC on the router.

Potential, but not there yet...

WiFiGuard tells you the total qty and IP address of all connected devices. It fails to pull MAC address 90% of the time, and does not label devices based on available information such as upnp address which would eliminate the need to get out the computer to identify which devices the ips belong to. Self labeling or at least identifying which group (screens, phones, accessories, network, etc) would double the usefulness of WiFiGuard.

Also, as previously mentioned by others "change name" changes the name of every device, (which is odd, and a giant PITA, also mine changes all names at will... whereas custom name option is device specific. Since the SID already contains the network name, I would suggest eliminating the name (not custom name) spot and instead placing the SID there instead.

WiFi Guard

This is a good app but sometimes it cuts off so can this issue be fixed? I do enjoy WiFiGuard but it does need updates in WiFiGuard. For now it’s a three star. Now that I have a new phone it works better on my new phone. Improvement is always a nice addition to WiFiGuard to make it better and to protect the user from any malicious attacks on there phones. Five stars this go round. Also, sometimes WiFiGuard tells me that I am not connected to WiFi and I look at my cellphone and I am clearly connected to WiFi. Something has to be done about correcting that small problem.

WIFI Guard

I suspect that it is protecting from intruders I do know and appreciate that it picks up all my WiFi items within my network. Identifies by IP address, which means must go find out what item it is. TV, printer, iPhone and iPad, etc. You do have the option to edit the items name which is good. I still give five stars, product is needed and hope for many more improvements.

I have found that when entering edit name it will change all previous to the last entered item. As long as protect concurs that is the main reason for WiFiGuard. Again thanks

WiFi Guard

WiFi Guard is good so far but it has no been on my phone that long. But as of this review I like WiFiGuard . I will let you know later if it's good for my device or not but so far I give it a thumbs up!! I also give it five stars for blocking certain devices from getting on my network. I have now had WiFiGuard on my phone for awhile and I am so pleased with it that I have given it a five star rating. It does what it says it’s going to do without any problems so far. Send updates when needed and keep up the awesome work.

Custom name changes all

Generally this is a pretty good app. It lets you see all devices connected to your wireless networks. However when you change the customer name on one device often WiFiGuard will change all device names to the same name. So it makes sorting through all of the devices more difficult. If they fix this bug I would certainly give WiFiGuard 4 stars... and 5 if it would let you block devices

Very Useful App

I appreciate the accurate discovery of devices attached to my LAN. Data reported by the devices is accurately displayed. Of my 8+ devices two apparently do not have icon images and display the "?" character. Roku and Blackberry display "?" and it is a bit annoying. It would be a plus if there was a set of icon images From which I could select to replace the "question mark." I recommend WiFiGuard. It is not a burden on any of my devices' cycles. And it quietly does its job. Well done!

Useful

This application does exactly what I expected. I have it on my AppleTV & iOS devices. All I do with it is occasionally launch it and browse the populated list of logged on equipment just to make sure no unauthorized devices are on my networks. It is a streamlined app, and pulls data fast. In truth, my 2.4G and 5G networks setup are advanced and it is extremely unlikely a user in my building would have knowledge, equipment or motive to break into them, but seeing is believing. It's a great addition to Apple's AirPort Utility.

Wi-Fi Scanner app

I found WiFiGuard extremely useful in identifying all of my networked devices. It identifies the IP address and on some hardware the MAC address. You can then custom name your network devices which makes future scanning very quick. I did find that I had a router that was broadcasting duplicate IP addresses. Rebooting the router solved that problem. Overall, I found WiFiGuard useful and would suggest that future versions add bandwidth speed testing on your internal network.

Wifi Guard

This COULD be good app, it does have potential, but… I don’t know anymore than I did because all it says is “unknown device,” well no crap! When I take the time to rename the unknown that’s fine and good when I close WiFiGuard , BUT when I reopen WiFiGuard again, I have to take the time and do it all over once again. THEN all of the sudden they ALL have the same name. I have been reading a few of the other reviews and it seems I am not the only one with this issue...so just WHERE IS THE DEVELOPER OF WiFiGuard?? What developer? No comments on problems with YOUR app? Sorry, but that shows no concern in my opinion and THAT is enough for me...DELETING this/YOUR app Mr. Developer!

Five stars

Well done I love it. WiFiGuard protects all my wifi connections. Using it about 2 years and love it very much. WiFiGuard so great and I recommend anyone who wants to protect their wifi service. WiFiGuard always telling me if any new device I connect with my wifi, so I knew it before something bad happens. Thank you app developers; I love you a lot. Happy Christmas and Happy New Year. I know a little early but don't worry both will come soon. 😀😀😀

Great app for seeing who’s on your WiFi

This seems to be the best free app to look at your WiFi network devices. I like the ability to quickly rename each device so it’s much easier to see what all is connected next time you check. No more trying to remember those cryptic addresses for your connected devices. So far no adds popping up either.

See my devices and Unknowns

I’m not sure how many devices I have because I have a security system that runs off the Wi-Fi but I am showing that there are “?” next to unknown devices and I’m not sure how to determine what they are because all it’s giving me is an IP address

Best WiFi scanner on the market

I enjoy using WiFiGuard everyday to find out if the WiFi I’m connecting to is secure or not, being on the go and using my business on my tablet is worrying that my personal and business account might be hacked but while using WiFiGuard I have peace of mind.

Imma girl

Not sure how this work currently experiencing illegal audio possibly video use in my apt downloaded WiFiGuard to see if it will somehow bring me close to how this surveillance is connected. App shows unknown at time which created a problem. Using hidden camera finder I detected cctv and mouse not sure if that is associate with my WiFi app or not. I like WiFiGuard just really unsure of purpose as it pertains to my situation

Locked me out of my router

If I could give this piece of garbage a negative rating I would. I installed WiFiGuard at 7:30 tonight and sat down to watch a movie on my Apple TV. Within 25 minutes the wireless kicked me off, shut off my iPhone’s wireless connection and wouldn’t let me back in. I had to reboot my router, change the password, and wipe the network map before I finally realized it was this stupid app causing everything. I deleted WiFiGuard and restarted my phone, and just like that, everything starting working again. DO NOT GET WiFiGuard.

Works

Great app to see how many devices are on your home router. It doesn’t always tell you the device name but, it will give you an IP address which helps to narrow down devices on your network. I find it easier to use than the competitor app which rhymes with “Ring”.

Excellent!

In the day and age where anyone can drive down the street and login to your network, WiFiGuard is comforting to have. You just check to see if you can't identify any devices that show up and take the steps necessary to knock them off. Hats off to the developer.

WiFi guard

I like WiFiGuard; however I am a novice. I had been showing 5-7 devices. Went on vacation and started showing 13 but teens in and out using their cells. But it is still showing 13. Better than it was before I changed my password.
