I have fun playing this game and I would have given 5 stars if a couple of changes could be made. If you could shade the words going backwards or forward it would save a lot of time, sometimes your brain only sees it one way and you waste time looking for them. Also it takes running your finger over the words 2 or 3 times just to get them to shade, if you fix those couple of items I would give it 5 stars. Also a clue to the new people, try to find all the smallest words first, it’s easier that way.

Update: the game is still fun but it got so easy for me I switched to playing it in German to challenge my “high school” foreign language skills. I will give it 5 stars now because I can change languages and be challenged again!

I was enjoying this game quite a bit; I was finding words, finding some other words, completing the search, and having an overall enjoyable time.. that was until this word (slur) impounded itself on my screen. At first I was just dazed and confused on how this heathen word slur could infiltrate my temple of peace. I started to break down crying but I became angry to.😤I threw my phone at the wall in horror because I actually found where this word was in the puzzle. I was crying and I spilt my coffee all over my couch and myself which I may sue the developers over🤫 I didn’t think it could get any worse but my 6 year old twins walked into the room and looked at this word slur and one of them went blind while the other one converted to atheism😭😭😡👹 I started to crawl on my stomach across the floor to get to WordSearch , but my brain has been tainted by this word slur and I can feel a vegetative state overwhelming me as I write th

I am someone who enjoys word puzzles and have all my life. Word searches and crosswords are particular favorites. This word search has been both frustrating and enjoyable. The latter I’ve already explained and the former is so on two scores. First I wish the game would be changed so we, the players could swipe a word backwards as well as forward...this wastes valuable time if you happen initially spot a word in the reverse. Second having the game being timed is frustrating because this places one in a pressured situation. The player is engaged in a competition whether he/she likes it or not. In addition the placement of the timer is located such that one’s eyes cannot avoid seeing it which makes the pressure ’front and center.’ I know I’m not alone in these two complaints...several others have stated their wish to see the same problems remedied.

I love word search puzzles. I’ve been doing them my whole life. I recently switched over from a Samsung to an iPhone. My Samsung had a great word search app. I was able to control how big, and therefore how many words, my puzzle was. I could change colors including back lighting. I’ve search, for many hours, to find a word search app I like as much. I don’t want themes or other puzzles included. I need something more than just 10-15 words. I finally ended with WordSearch. Even though I think it gives you too many words at a time and it can be hard to distinguish letters and words, because there are so many, I still chose WordSearch. I’d rather have too many words than the puzzle being too easy. This is why I gave it 4 stars instead of 5.

I love WordSearch and use it frequently. I actually like the timer feature, as sometimes I like to challenge myself to beat my best times. I think that it should be an option, like we should be able to turn the timer on and off. I also agree with the other reviews that say we should be able to highlight words in the reverse. Another feature I would like is a wider variety of words to search for, and also themes or categories of words (like animals, places, colors, etc). Other than that I love this!

WordSearch gives you the ability to change fonts for better readability, but it doesn’t tell you the names of the fonts. You just tap a font button until you see the one that suits you. The game highlights every word in pastel colors, and gives you a dark mode option, but I would like the ability to change this to my liking. Personally, I would prefer the highlighter is a color as I highlight the word, and then goes to a sepia/gray tone once completed. This would make completing puzzles less of a headache. I keep finding that the puzzle ends with so much color that finding the last four words takes me as much time as the first 12. Omg please give us more customization. Buying premium-no-ads is really not worth headaches.

I had another word search game on my phone, which seemed to be fun, but it had fewer words to search. I added the same game on my iPad, and it had fewer words than the one for my phone. I found WordSearch in WordSearch Store and play it all the time. Love the size of it and find the words to be different than expected. The one thing I wish I could do is turn off the timer. I seem to get anxious or stressed trying to always better my time rather than just playing it for fun. But, I like it anyway.

I love the format and challenge, but two things bother me. I wish you could find words backward as well. Example being if I’m supposed to find “fire” I wish I could swipe from the e to the f, sometimes that would honestly shave off a couple seconds. Speaking of which the other feature I don’t care for is the timer. I wish it wasn’t right at the top of the screen. If each round needs to be timed so be it but just show someone at the end. Having a timer going stresses me out haha. I wish I could just turn it off all together. I just want to search for words I don’t need to best any amount of time.

I like to play this game and I rated five stars. The only thing to improve is that the player can find every word backwards too. That would be perfect. What I mean is: I need to find the word “water” but this game only let me shade the word from w to r. Better would be if I can start from r and finish and w. Because my brain knows that the word “retaw” is the word that i am looking for and I don’t loose time try for the beginning. Just however I find it just shadow it and then will mark down I color. Thanks

It’s nicely setup and shows you your best time on short scoreboard, which I think is a huge plus. As the puzzles progress, more words are included that I’ve never heard of, so I don’t get to ‘spot’ words out that I know (which is half the fun for me) without looking at the list. I haven’t played it throughout, but because I like the setup, I’d like to see either: different level choices or maintain recognizable words throughout the puzzles.

Update: More words increase to unrecognizable. I wanted more of the level I enjoy playing instead of of levels getting ridiculous. Also should leave some unnecessary physiological reference words out.

While I do enjoy doing word search puzzles, most stick to legitimate words. This one needs work in that area. One glaring example is the word “overmuches.” Seriously? Adjectives do not have plurals, and this is a frequent error. Also, occasional incorrect tenses (it is sped, not speeded!). Practically every word bank has several of these words, while I also find 3-4 actual words that aren’t on the list and aren’t counted in the puzzle. Your computer program that creates these puzzles is only as good as the person who wrote it. And that person does not have a firm grasp of word structures! Frustrating. WordSearch also needs a hint feature.

So glad I found WordSearch and could leave all the others behind. Playing to beat your own time adds challenge, and words are interesting (I don’t mind words repeated across games - it’s not like they are located in the same spot). Ads are minimal and easy to close and get back to the game. Game pauses if you exit to the home screen. I also like the way words left to find move towards the front of the list, so you always see multiple words on the current screen.

WordSearch has a time counter that tracks how much time you spend on each puzzle (it doesn’t count down, just up). It also has all of the word you’re searching for at the bottom of the screen, you can swipe to the left or right to see more of the list. I wanted an app with a list of words, because unfortunately most word search apps have turned into search/crossword puzzles

I like WordSearch because it’s everything you want. It has a colorful highlight that appears on the words when you find them, it’s challenging, and it times you so you can try and beat your best score. I’m only giving it 4 stars because I’m the type of person who likes my word searches to be organized and allow me to be able to pick a topic and search for words associated with that specific topic. This word search just has random words in each puzzle and kinda makes me anxious. Overall great app though

The -devious update prevented ad removal restore and you were stuck with ads whether you paid or not. The developer fixed this quickly and now ad removal works again.
Good game. Some words are a bit odd and might not be words, but it is still just finding them from a list. Compared to other word searches, this issue still makes it the best word search app out there.

It can be a very fun game to play I just wish there was a way to shut off the time as it can be very annoying if you’re not trying to time yourself you feel like you’re in a competition anyway I just ignore it and that works for me other than that it’s a very fun game I like the variety of words and it kind of challenged you because you can’t scan words backwards definitely a four-star game I would say five they got rid of the timer and let you scan backwards

Love WordSearch with very limited ads! The only 2 things I would change (and they are picayune): allow no color the same next to each other and not over top of 2words overlapping each other; AND allow scrolling forward or backwards over a word. Even if these aren’t possible, I will continue to play WordSearch as it is challenging and a good brain workout!

Users should be able to highlight words backwards. This has been mentioned by many other reviewers and I too would like to see this feature. I do wish the words were grouped into categories instead being of completely random. Otherwise this is a fun game. The ads are far less than other games and that’s what keeps me playing. No “tokens” or “coins” needed to play the next puzzle. It just has a short ad every few puzzles and then lets you move on.

Firstly, the developers of WordSearch are terrific. The gameplay is challenging and keeps players engaged. It's self-evident how much thought was employed during the development stage. I would make one suggestion: Enhance the personal records section by distributing records based upon the number of words in the puzzle. For example, display the top-5 best times for puzzles containing 25 words or less, 26-34 words, and 35+ words. Users would then be empowered to track their top-5 times for each of the stratified categories.

The words tend to be in the same place and words are used over and over. They tend to pluralize a lot of words to make them longer. Smaller words are more difficult.
One issue I am seeing is the user of racial words. I w seen the “n” word in different forms in many puzzles. These aren’t words to find, but arranged strategically in the middle of the puzzle. Other times, the word thug is used as well as lynching, slavery, and whipping. Whipping can be used for cooking, but the others are troublesome. Adjust your computer.

Most word search games are too easy for me, but this one is not. It’s just my level (even though I’m in grade school) I enjoy the timing, it helps me set goals for myself.

You may think the timing is stressful, but try doing what I did and set goals. And you may think that the loads of words are hard, but just try a little at a time.

The only thing is there should be a “dictionary “ to explain some of the word meanings because of the high vocabulary.

It’s so easy to play and looks nicer than the written version. The colours are pleasant and it’s easy to read. The only problem I’ve come across is sometimes you have to run your finger several times over the word before it highlights and that cuts into your score, but hey, you are only playing against yourself so it’s no big problem. If you had competition like duels that would be an issue. Good game and good time waster!

I’d like to see more settings for customization, don’t get me wrong; the things you can change are amazing but if you had the option to change the way you cross words out would be cool I feel Ike the highlighted colors are a little much, I’d like to see maybe an option of bubbling around the word once you find it or even a straight line across the once you’ve found it. It’ll really give the user a more effective way to search for the other words when it’s closer to the finish line.

Love playing, but I hate how the leaderboard shows your best times and no way of seeing how many words there were. For example, if I were to solve a puzzle in 3 minutes with 25 words, it would show up as my fastest time whereas if I solved a 35 word puzzle in 4 minutes, it would show as second place. Some consistency, like a way of filtering “best of all time” or seeing your best time per the number of words would be great. So when I solve puzzles with 25 words, I can compare it ONLY to other puzzles with 25 words.

Small fixes like that would add a larger competitive aspect to the game in my mind.

I love doing this type of word puzzle. What I really enjoy with this one is that it has a long list of words to search out. I like it when the lust is down the side of the puzzle more than on the top or bottom so of it but this one works just fine. If you are like me and need the challenge of a longer list then this game will be just what you are looking for. Sometimes it feels really easy but watch out because it isn’t always as easy as it seems. Download this game, I know you’ll enjoy doing it.

Please stop using dark colors like dark purple dark blue etc it’s VERY hard to see the letters once it’s highlighted to find other words especially when dark colors overlap, I personally will have to stop using WordSearch because I just can’t see the letters. Thanks for your consideration.

I actually left the game for about 3 months I missed playing for sure. I hope something was done with the colors.
