It's useless, missing a key feature

You can't browse! You can only search for idioms that you already know. I wanted an app that allowed me to browse through idioms and phrases to learn NEW things, not just to type in phrases I already know about that I want to know the meaning of. I could just use Google for that. IdiomsandSlangDictionary is useless really.

Ads do not seem to go away

To the developer of this application (or to whom it may concern): I paid for a subscription already and yet the ads still show up at the bottom of the screen. Then I made the same subscription purchase , and I got the info on screen: "You already paid for a subscription of thi App. Would you like to have it again for free."
Is there any way to get this fixed. Thanx !

Does not save book marks

I had tons of Odom’s saved in my bookmarks only to have them disappear when I had to reset my iPhone and reinstall IdiomsandSlangDictionary . Could you please let us save/back it up to iCloud or Dropbox??

Good app but needs some work

What made me want to download IdiomsandSlangDictionary is that is looked very entertaining and looked like it could help me a lot with idioms. What I liked about IdiomsandSlangDictionary is that when I wanted to know slang, or he definition of a word it helped me a lot. What I disliked about IdiomsandSlangDictionary is that when I got to look up a word it either glitches or it pulls up an ad. There was another app I downloaded but it definitely was not as good as IdiomsandSlangDictionary.!.!.

categories

They used to be all categorized and ordered alphabetically. Can you put them back into?

Great app

I volunteer with ELLs as a conversation partner and I think IdiomsandSlangDictionary is an excellent tool to level up their English. As a friendly suggestion, maybe have translations of the definitions of the idioms in other languages. Other than that great resource for teaching and learning English.

Perfect, except it must also be usable offline

I love IdiomsandSlangDictionary. The only problem is that it won't allow me to access the meanings of most of the phrases and idioms offline. Upgrade IdiomsandSlangDictionary for total offline use and I'll give it 5 stars.

Very useful for non-native English speakers

I have been using idioms and phrases website for a long time and now IdiomsandSlangDictionary for sometime, precisely, this is a lifesaver app.

For every idiom or phrase, it explains the meaning and gives you couple of examples to understand it better.

This is the best proven way to learn idioms and phrases if you are a English learner! I will definitely recommend IdiomsandSlangDictionary.

An index or word list will make it better!

Love IdiomsandSlangDictionary. Helps keep our language alive

I like this app!

It's a little clunky for an app, but it is a great resource for my third grade class to look up the meaning of idioms. Thank you!

Now I can see where all the phrases and idioms we used fifty years came from, the origins. Fascinating app.

A graphic illustration conveys a stronger message than words, as in "The book jacket is a big selling point—one picture is worth a thousand words." This saying was invented by an advertising executive, Fred R.

Our flagship app is The Free Dictionary (TFD), powered by TheFreeDictionary.com. Find our other apps by searching "Dictionary by Farlex" in the App Store.

TheFreeDictionary.com - Farlex apps have been downloaded tens of millions times across multiple platforms, with top ratings after hundreds of thousands of reviews.

To promote his agency's ads he took out an ad in Printer's Ink in 1921 with the headline "One Look Is Worth a Thousand Words" and attributed it to an ancient Japanese philosopher.

Six years later he changed it to "Chinese Proverb: One Picture Is Worth Ten Thousand Words," illustrated with some Chinese characters.
