i love LeapSecond and i love taking my daily videos but i find it quite aggravating that i can not back up my video with out paying. I dont have the money to pay for this every month. i understand paying for the music and all that other stuff but i cant back it up? Making my video is very therapeutic and helps me be happy. it gives me anxiety that I could lose my entire video that ive worked hard on trying not to miss a day at any moment. I believe i should be able to have my video backed up for free. I also think the trimming part is quite difficult . Its hard to select the exact part of the video i wanna use. I want to rate it more stars but these problems are annoying and i think it should change.

I used LeapSecond for a month while I did a road trip and loved it. Then decided to do it for the whole 2018 year. I like the idea that you can always upload videos at any time so I also haven’t looked back at LeapSecond in a little bit but then found that a lot of days were missing videos that I have previously uploaded to LeapSecond of 2018 (so I had to either rechoose the 1 second or they were deleted completely). I luckily saved half of the year in a video and when I looked back, I noticed the sound didn’t match what the screen was showing. It was okay to start, but after a month in, everything was mixed. I’m not sure what went wrong, but the sound was playing a few seconds ahead of what was being displayed.

I downloaded LeapSecond as a cool story over the course of the year. I wanted to be able to upload pictures from other days because often times I took pictures from Snapchat and saved them on different dates, so I paid an upgraded fee. LeapSecond erased all my uploaded pictures 3 times. There’s no memory on the device, and it doesn’t auto save. I had to reupholstered my pictures to days so many times I forgot what days had what pictures. It became so much work I stopped using it all together. Cool idea with good features for cutting video clips. I liked it originally, which is why I won’t rate it a 1, but LeapSecond overall was not very functional and ended up being a waste of time.

I have used similar apps that have lost all of my videos before but this clean design is very functional and reliable. I do however have one big problem with LeapSecond that would encourage me to go back to a different app. You can only put in videos from that day in a day’s spot. Simply put, I have days where I have two or even three videos I would love to be added to the memories and other days I forget or have nothing. I would love an option to select a day then go to camera roll and select from other dates as well. It is inconvenient that I don’t have that option and would love to know if there is a loophole.

I thought LeapSecond was a great idea! I started a 2 year volunteer ship with Peace Corps in Senegal on February and was told about LeapSecond by another volunteer. I downloaded and even bought the premium version of LeapSecond was really impressed at first. That was until May when most of the 1 second videos I had recorded all deleted out of the blue. I felt completely defeated as it was a thing I aimed to have from the beginning to the end of my service. I ended deleting LeapSecond out of frustration. Now I am giving it a second try, praying videos don’t just delete themselves again.

I love the concept, the interphase is decent, but before this update there was no language saying if you delete the one second videos in your phone's library it will effect LeapSecond . I've been using LeapSecond for close to 9 months and made the unfortunate decision to delete videos that began to appear in my camera last week and all of a sudden I was missing two weeks worth of moments. While it's not the Leap Second's fault cloud storage is that expensive, they should have been able to give a better heads up that deleting videos from your phone has a direct connection to LeapSecond .

Update: I updated and it looks like the photos and video I lost are back. Still can’t figure out what year I’m on in the calendar.

This new version is awful. I had been creating videos for last year and since they updated LeapSecond all of my friends photos and videos are gone. Ever other click is trying to get you to pay for the pro version. You can’t even tell which year you are in when going through the calendar. Interface is very clumsy. Bring back the older version. So much more user friendly!

I love LeapSecond so far!!! However today I discovered something a little weird. After deleting some videos from the first week of the year off of my phone, I found that they deleted off of leap second too. I luckily had the videos in my recently deleted, but when it's later in the year im a little confused on how this is practical. I don't have enough space to keep a Years worth of photos and videos, and I have to delete them off my phone about once a month because of how many photos I take. Are we meant to keep all those videos we use on our phone locally throughout the year? What would I do if it were November?? That's a lot of videos to have saved....

I reserve 5 stars for either great customer service or a fantastic concept and execution.
PROS: Leap Second offers users an easy, functional way to document our lives in short form, making it possible to reflect on a month, or year, within a super reasonable time span. Being able to pick either a photo or video is great. The reminder option is great.
CONS: I get that this is intellectual property and the developers should make money from their work! Totally support that. I just think the upgrades could be a little cheaper, and that we don’t have to pay over and over to add one little thing here and there. Not sure I’m thrilled about having paid for several features on different occasions! Meh.

Overall, though, this is a really great lite app. What makes it most special is that it offers me a certain time every day to pause and reflect on my life, and to consider how I want to frame what was truly important that day. It’s got iconic features. Worth it.

I love being able to post multiple videos per day, the calendar is great, and I like that you can extend videos to 5 seconds with the pro version (I think 1 second is too short). This is an awesome app!!

HOWEVER, one thing I really hate about LeapSecond is the video trimmer. It’s really difficult to select which specific part of the video you want to trim. Every time I want to choose a clip to trim, I have to watch the whole video, take note of the exact second that I want the clip to be trimmed, restart the video, pause exactly at that second, then press “trim”. I’m not sure if there’s an easier way to do it, but if there is I can’t figure it out?? :(

PLEASE LeapSecond would be literal perfection if only the video trimmer were better. My suggestion: let us “scrub” across the video with a selection box containing the 1-5sec clip, and allow us to dynamically preview the selection before committing to trim. Pls I would even pay extra money for this.

ANYWAYS I love LeapSecond please make it more perfect I will tell all my friends about it <3

Edit: ALSO I wanted to add - I would like to see some of the added features that are present in the original second a day app. Such as: create different timelines, export specific clips as one video, enter daily mood/notes, etc. I would love these features. The main selling point of your app, however, is the fact that I can post multiple videos in a day!

LeapSecond was really easy to use and it was fun. However, at the end of January when it became February, I lost all the footage from January that I recorded on LeapSecond itself. Also, I had to put in the clips for the days that I had videos saved in my camera roll all over again. LeapSecond was working great and I was excited to see a full video at the end of 2019, but now I’m so sad to see all the footage go. I tried everything I could do to recover it but none of it seems to be working.

I love the idea behind the concept and was impressed at the functionality of LeapSecond (I upgraded to Pro), but the UX is still a little rough around the edges. When you select a date to import media, I wish it would just show you if you have any photos or videos in that day without having to tap the photo icon to reveal them. Also, when you’re in the screen to select moments to add to your day, seeing the “select” screen pop up and having to tap “select” every time after you’ve already dragged and dropped it is really annoying (doesn’t it defeat the purpose of dragging and dropping?). Once you drag and drop it would nice if you could scroll through them sideways to X out any you want to remove. There are more things like this that if finessed would really make LeapSecond stand out; I already like it more than the original 1SE app!

Aug 6 updated to 5 stars bc I downloaded the update and can export my video.

I like the idea of LeapSecond , I like that you can increase your clip to 2-5 seconds if you wanted to, and most of all I like that you can add multiple videos from the same day.

The largest con is that I cannot seem to export/share my video once it’s created. I want to have it as a file on my computer, and in order to do that I need to share and download the video. I have tried multiple times, restarted my phone, shared different sections and LeapSecond keeps quitting on me. It looks like it’s working to about 90% and then LeapSecond will just crash. And that is exporting the lowest resolution, and only trying to export one year at a time-nothing more than that. The inability to export my file renders LeapSecond useless to me. I emailed customer support but haven’t received any reply.

I love everything about LeapSecond so far with one issue! My pictures and videos are set to play 1 second each, and every time I preview my full video compilation it would play 1 second each like it’s supposed to. Just yesterday it started playing just the first one at a full second, but the rest of the pictures are racing by at about 3 pictures per second. It’s doesn’t give me enough time to look at and enjoy them, and it’s not even supposed to do this! PLEASE HELP! Is there anything I can do to fix it? Or can you check if there’s a glitch that can be fixed on your end? Thanks in advance.

So it told me to like make an account using an email so I did and it deleted my years work of videos and I’m not very happy. It’s going to take me a long time to add all those back in. If anyone else had that problem let me know. I still love LeapSecond though.

Update: talked with Jon and he helped me solve the problem! He was very nice throughout the whole process. If you ever have a problem just contact them and they will definitely help you

Leap Second has been a wonderful addition to my creative making. As an artist being able to record my day to day in video snippets has been a fantastic experience. My family and friends love seeing what I have been up to and the sneak peaks LeapSecond allows them to have into my life. Especially as I usually fail at going through the process of adding photos daily to my social media accts. I have recommended LeapSecond to my family, friends, and students for years now and will continue to do so ❤️

I love LeapSecond and have been using it for a couple years now. I love being able to watch the year in review in a quick 20-30 minutes. I have thousands of pictures and hundreds of videos on my phone of my kids but LeapSecond helps me get it down to a consumable form. I feel like LeapSecond is clean and very user friendly. Many of the issues people state in the reviews have either been addressed by the developer or can be fixed by upgrading LeapSecond . Memory keeping is a high priority for me and LeapSecond a key tool in this endeavor.

I was looking for an option to record one second videos each day and this meets my needs! There is a free version and a version that you pay for if you want the extra features. The date comes up on the bottom of the video and you can choose two per day if you can’t choose just one! I have had to get into the habit of carrying my phone with me so that I can capture what I want

Love LeapSecond so far! It was so good I upgraded to pro and I can’t remember the last time I’ve spent money on an app (probably years). There has been an issue with volume of my clips being really low. I’m not sure if this is a known issue but once restart LeapSecond the clips come back to full volume. Also one suggestion, if I could add a location to each video that would be amazing. Seems to be the only thing missing!

I paid for the leap second pro app, and after 6 months of working on my timeline, LeapSecond updated and deleted all of my videos that were supposed to be saved to LeapSecond . I have tried to contact customer service and each time they reply to me it takes a day and a half...very upsetting do not buy LeapSecond if you value your videos and want a secure backup service.

Went through and populated 6 months worth of video clips.. added them to the days, selected the best section, watched the advertisement required on the free version, to trim each clip and store the 1 sec inside LeapSecond . I really loved it!

Then one day I open LeapSecond thinking I will buy the pro version... and it’s ALL GONE. Sure, the videos are still on my phone- but I would have to go back and drag each one in, preview for the best section again.... BUMMER. I will update my review if they fix this issue- but LeapSecond wasted my time!

Great customer service- Jon helped me fix it! The leap second album accidentally got deleted, but I was able to restore them by adding the hidden clips back to the album!! Yay!

All my videos got deleted for no reason but it shows that videos can be put on for certain days but notbing on there
