When you enter an event and date it took place on it shows up in the dashboard a day off in error. As others have noted this could be a great app with a little effort by the developer. Sadly it looks to be long abandoned.

Would be nice to be able separate practice from competition scores and see your average for each one separately, in addition to your total average.
Also would be nice to be able to group scores via the most recent month, and work back to the beginning.
Also, let's be able to save each year separately. There is no provision within ShootingDay to do this, like for one year, or to have multiple leagues. I guess for next season, I'll just delete ShootingDay and download again.
Otherwise, I like it for keeping an average, which is what it was designed to do!!!๐๐

ShootingDay is a good app for keeping track of scores and gun usage. However the round lengths don't allow for 30 or 50 doubles configuration. ShootingDay could be a 4-5 star app if it allowed for 30 or 50 round configuration.

It works well for keeping up with scores. Slider bar for score is too sensitive on iPhone. Tough to get it to stop on correct score. When releasing, it jumps up or down a couple numbers. Fix that and it's a 4 star app.
Add American units as well (ounces shot vs grams) for shot shell type.
Allow deletion of cartridge types. A few more bells and whistles, I'd consider paying for the extensions for skeet. Although $5.99 is pretty high. I like that I can save shots without a score. Works well for keeping shot count when I'm practicing but not keeping a score.

This has potential to be a very good app. But some needed improvements would need to be implemented first such as Configuring it for shooting Handicap Trap or 50 pair of Doubles.

a few additional features and this would be worth paying for.
the sensitivity of the slider needs to be fixed - very hard to select a number

I have been using ShootingDay for a two+ years now and it is fairly easy to use. It needs a lot of work to meet the needs of ATA / Olympic shooters. I have tried to communicate with the developers , offering suggestions and Feedback but response / engagement has been โunderwhelmingโ. They have been talking about about a paid version for Trap for two years now, with no updates! I hope the developers listen to their users and improve this product.

ShootingDay showed a lot of potential, unfortunately developer appears to have given up on it. The major flaw with it is the inability to score the option as your first miss, and only will score it as 8 Low. This will not allow you to see your true average per station and will falsely give you inaccurate average for 8 low. Guess Iโll go back to logging with pen and paper. Too bad because Iโd love to recommend it my fellow shooters. It would be a 5 star otherwise

No consideration for first miss and option has been mentioned for five years, yet the developer hasnโt addressed this shortcoming. Furthermore, percentage is based upon 100 (4 rounds) shots, yet many of us seniors only shoot 2 rounds at a time. Seems like there ought to be a way to address this also.

When trying to send event by text or email end result is truncated. Looks like it only sends the first 2 rounds of an American skeet event. Basically only whatโs on the iPhone screen. If you scroll up to later rounds it still only sends the top two.

ShootingDay is decent. It could use some options to filter by time. For example, It would be nice if you could filter the arsenal by date range so you can see how youโve done with a certain Ammo in the last 3 months instead of having the average distorted by old data when you werenโt as good.
It could be a lot better with minor regular updates to refine and improve, but has clearly been abandoned at this point.

We need to be able to record each station for trap not skeet. Please help
by Badmudderfugger
I use this for skeet primarily. One thing I would improve is recognition of the โoptionโ shot after the first miss. I donโt see how to record the option and the hit/miss screen always shows two shots on low 8 - which canโt happen if you miss a shot during the round....
Other change would be addition of standard skeet doubles - a 50 round/shot game.
And/or - ability to customize the hit/miss screen to record variations of h/l/doubles. (Ability to create a custom game)

We need a defined discipline for handicap. We need to be able to see an average for each discipline (singles, doubles, handicap).

I LOVE the hit/miss charts. I track American and international skeet with ShootingDay .
If the dashboard tracked by round rather than by event it would be more useful. Since "events" could be 1 round or 16+ rounds it's not apples to apples when looking at things like the time line graph of percentage of hits.
For American skeet this thing needs a way to place the option shot. I always shoot it at the first miss so I personally know that that's where it was...but it shows as a second low house shot on eight.

Good app overall, I like it better than other subscription based apps. A glaring feature is itโs missing the option shot. Other apps have implemented the option, right now if you shoot an option it shows a miss at station 8 and skews your percentage at the station you took the option on.

Was looking for an app to track my scores and see if Iโm actually improving. Have been entering my scores for past months and I find the interface to be smooth and easy to use and doesnโt trust look like a plain screen with generic box drop downs like some other trackers.
I have primarily been using for trap scores so I am hoping the trap pro will be available soon.
Might be interesting to add tracking wind speed too, Iโve been tracking in notes.
A UPC scanner to scan a box of shells and have it added to cartridges would be very slick.
Overall a nice app and it is free, but I would pay for the trap pro if available. I will need to try skeet.

This is a great app for tracking scores and averages to handicap rounds with others in our group. I simply put in two 50 target rounds to make it 100 in order to score correctly as this is a typical shoot. The other addition would be a means to track other shooters scores in our group as a means to compare as an option. First blush is that it works very well for an initial way to track scores! ๐๐ผ

ShootingDay is amazing to help improve your overall shooting scores. A common issues with kids I coach is that they forget what they learn and then in a week they forget and change how they do things but now I can just refer to ShootingDay and show them when they did great this is what you were doing and said. Overall amazing app
