Dozens of offensive, ugly, stupid game ads run for way too long after every couple of puzzles. The "X" does not appear at the beginning of the ads, so I was forced to sit through more of these hideous ads than I could tolerate. The flashing colors and lights brought on a massive migraine, and no app, even an interesting one like this, is worth that! People who suffer from seizures should avoid BrainDots entirely, or risk it bringing on a seizure. I am dumping this miserable app as soon as I finish writing my review. It's really too bad, because the puzzles are interesting. I know I could pay $4 to dump the ads, but that is excessive and smacks of extortion, so I refuse to support BrainDots with my hard-earned money. Enough already!

I wish I could give this a five star since the game concept is really fun. However the difficulty which should be due to the puzzle is actually due to BrainDots design, primarily the graphics. 

The graphic resolution is "blocky". I hat to pull out my Jot Pro stylus in order to draw with more control and still the graphics got stuck. Many times if I draw next to another line it would show your point where you want to start but you cannot draw anything.  There is no undo or option to redo the line before making it live. 

Also if you accidentally draw on the back arrow or the redo arrow in the top left and right there is no conformation so you immediately lose you game and have to restart that round. 

I hope future updates fix these issues so the difficulty becomes the game itself and not the game design . To spend more than $0.99 is questionable but if you do it should work flawlessly. 

If this ever gets fixed I will update my review and stars since the game could be really good.

I am a long time player of this game and I've had relentless crashing problems on my iPad mini. I've uninstalled and reinstalled this game several times, starting from the beginning again and again with the same issues. I have nothing running in the background and over 2 gigs of empty storage on my iPad. I don't understand why I'm still having these issues. I try to play a level and the game just crashes. When it does actually let me play a level, it usually crashes before the balls even touch. This issue really started whenever you added the level builder and user levels. I also miss the weekly levels that the Devi created... The user levels get really boring really quickly since there's never really any challenge, it's more artistry and trick levels than anything. Please fix this crashing issue if at all possible. I love this game and would hate to have to let it go once again.

I loved this game so actually paid to have ads removed which I rarely do. The last version added banner ads at the bottom of the screen that takes up so much screen space it really detracts from the enjoyment of the game. EVEN AFTER I PAID TO HAVE ADS REMOVED!! I tried restoring purchase, didn’t work. Wrote to the developer several times, gave them more than a week to respond before leaving a bad review - more than fair. They never responded. So here’s the bad review.

I used to develop apps and know how much time it takes. I don’t complain about ads. I disagree with entitled people who complain about ads in a free game. Since when should software be free? How would a developer make any money and be incentivized to develop? So you EITHER watch ads OR pay to have them removed. This seems like a fair deal.

But I PAID!!! I should not ads.

I love this game a whole lot. It’s simple, fun, and challenging. And as much as I want to love the game, I’m going to be deleting it because of the extremely intrusive, non-skippable, long advertisements that pop up every 2 attempts. I understand that the developers need to make money, but why not just charge money to download BrainDots initially? That way, everyone has to pay but everyone can have an enjoyable experience. The way they continuously display ads is an obvious attempt to make you spend 3.99 to get rid of them; and for a second I thought I would. I’m not going to. Have some respect for your customers, and don’t extort them with brainless advertising.

There is business and then there is greed. One of the most ad-intensive games I’ve ever played. Just ridiculous. Ads that won’t put up the x for a long, long time. Ads that require multiple Xs to get out of. Ads that require you to play a stupid mini game to get out of. Ads in the middle of levels when you have to restart, when you’re trying to adjust to just the right angle and location and can’t get your bearings because of yet another $()(&+-!! ad. This game is a great idea but playing it just fills me with rage. Translimit. Remember that name and avoid every app they make. They’re not games, they’re ad machines.

This game is awesome, except ONE thing that honestly gets my blood boiling. Hints are offered WAY too frequently. I can't emphasize that enough.

Hey, it's great you're trying to help us solve the puzzle, but more often than not I like to work through it as it IS a puzzle after all. I do not like being offered a hint every other time I retry or fail. It honestly gets very annoying and there's no way that I can see to turn it off... like practically jamming hints down my throat. I hate it so much.

If you guys were to change this so that it's less intrusive, and also allow faster response of the retry button (sometimes it doesn't work until you fail the level), this game would be 5 stars hands down.

This game has entirely too many ads. I am deleting it because of how annoying these ads are getting. There is literally an ad everytime you restart a level( which is fairly frequently). The majority of the time spent on BrainDots is watching ads which is infuriating. I can’t even begin to start enjoying the game before an ad pops up in my face. If this game had less ads, it would easily be in my top 3 games. But I am deleting it because this is far too frustrating. I am going to look for another game I heard of that’s similar but does not have nearly as many ads.

Well I found this game reading reviews on another game similar that I found first And absolutely LOVE. That being said maybe because I started there I like theirs better. Graphics are nicer but they can’t produce new levels fast enough witch has me here playing this game while I wait. Good for u I guess. But what I’m frustrated with is why I can’t run up over a line, I can lay a line across the empty space and go over it, makes no sense. And there is no real way of solving a puzzle and the hints give u a good idea of what to do but even I a do exactly as it draws it may still not b exactly right. And u show the hint one time and u have to watch the ad all over again every time when it doesn’t work like it should have. Which the ads r a little crazy. And I’m ok with ads most of the time but this is a bit excessive. And now that I’m on level 120 or so I have no more hints and I am having trouble with some levels and I found it crazy that I can just move on to the next puzzle?? Who does that?? And there isn’t just one way to solve a puzzle. U should have some kind of system of rating how u solve it, in order to move on. Anyways I will continue to play.

I understand that free games need to turn a profit somehow, but the way ads pop up when you just want to try a failed stage again is highly irritating, particularly given the propensity for accidentally activating one of them because it shows up right where you were already clicking for a different reason. Still, the game is luckily entertaining enough to make the annoying things worth the hassle.

Like everyone else's complaints. Mine are the same. I was not able to play this game without it crashing until I got my iPhone 6. So... That could be the problem for others. Besides that I do like this game. But I will never pay $4 for it. I do agree you should not have to log in with social media to get certain pens. That's unfair for children. Or really anyone who isn't part of those communities. All in all its a good game. The adds seem to be less then they used to be. But still annoying.

I am obsessed with this game! It's not perfect, but it's addicting. The ads are definitely annoying but I enjoyed playing so much that I just bought it to be rid of them. I get really frustrated at times when I can't figure out a board, but there are hints for that. However, as with comments below, I wish it didn't offer hints so frequently. And a stylus does make it Much easier to be precise than with s finger. Oh, and it crashes on my tablet, but works perfectly on my iPhone. 👍🏼 Worth the money to have it on my phone.

User made puzzles, seasonally themed puzzles, a default set with unlockables, no lives/hour mechanic. Just play an awesome game. So why four stars?

There are different puzzle types: thought, drawing accuracy, and reaction speed being the most obvious categories. I don't much care for the ones where I have to draw something while the ball is moving on a conveyor belt, or a piece is falling. Almost as bad is where I can see the solution, but can't draw the shapes accurately enough. On the other hand, you can skip the levels, so still a great game.

This game is wonderful, very original, and allows you to use your brain in such a creative way. I’ve had this game for quite a while now, but I have to say the ads have gotten a lot worse since I first remember. The cut in ads are just ridiculous and intrusive especially the ones you can’t X out of after five seconds. Enough is enough please get rid of these if you want my five star rating. You are gonna drive people away if this keeps up, I mean every time you win a level, every retry I press there’s an ad, this has got to stop!

There are some changes I would like to make to this game to improve it's popularity. First I have the idea of more objects for creating a stage, such as something that would stay for a little while in its place and then fly so far across the room. My second suggestion is that there to be more of a variety to choose from like when you go to play the stages that someone else has made maybe you can do a folder for "past 3 months" or "past 12 hours" other than that I've really like this game and will continue to play it 😺😸

This morning my 8-year-old was playing this super fun game and an ad popped up that showed cartoon images of partially undressed adults. I think it is for a game where a woman discovers her partner cheating on her in various ways (finding him in bed with someone else, for example). Of course my son is curious and confused by these cartoons, asking “why did that lady say that bra wasn’t hers? That’s weird.” Really? Thanks, Brain Dots.

I would like you to change your age rating for BrainDots .

I’ve played this game for years now. I just updated it on my iPad, while doing so I read some of the reviews... people complaining of ads, pay to get rid of them! It costs next to nothing, if it has granted you an hour of enjoyment is it not worth the 2-3 dollars they’re asking for?

Another reviewer “loves the game” but wants more shapes with special abilities only granting 3 stars. Ive drawn out items from pushers, pullers, swinging catapults, all the way to gravity driven walkers on this game, you don’t need to have special ability blocks or shapes you need a better imagination.

If your device is crashing a lot maybe it isn’t the game... maybe you need to update your device.

This game is perfect if you want a puzzle game that is actually challenging. The first hundred levels are quite easy, but it ramps up to the most difficult game available on BrainDots Store by lever 250.
Also, there are some users who show real brilliance in the user stages, making and beating levels of prodigious difficulty and keeping me occupied for years.
The ads are pretty bad, but for the classic mode airplane mode can be used to avoid them.
Get this game.

To readers: I have a few cheats for your complaints. Sadly I don't have the solution to crashing, but if you're sick of the ads, you can't do anything about the ads when you complete it, to not get ads after each fail, hurry and press the redo button before they die, so that you won't have to wait for an ad. If you want that rainbow feather pen, you don't actually have to share it on social media. I just clicked on one of them, then exited the window that asked me to sign in. When I got back into BrainDots , I had it. Sadly, that one doesn't write in rainbow, so if you want one that draws in rainbow colors, you have to press the redo button 100 times to unlock it, then buys it for 300 coins to use it.

If you're still reading this and considering getting it, I totally suggest it! It's so fun and addicting and I got all my friends to play it and they love it too!

Fun, challenging, & addictive. Hard to put down. I love the visual aspect as well as the learning underlying the games' construct: geometry, physics (gravity!), creativity, and spatial thinking. Also really like the ability to watch videos of other's solutions. And people from all over the world. Most games I tire of after a short while. But the unique varieties of challenges & increasing difficulty makes it the best game app I've had in the 7 years of using an iPhone. Thanks!!!
