What is Air Lookout? Air Lookout is an app that simplifies air quality information for users. It supports the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s air quality stations in North America and presents actionable information in easy-to-understand language. The app works on iOS, iPadOS, watchOS, watchOS complications, and now supports Shortcuts and iOS 14 Widgets. Air Lookout Pro offers more features and data for people who take air quality seriously.

- Home Site: Select a home site to always show in your station list and use it instead of sharing your location with Air Lookout.
- Week-At-A-Glance: Quickly see how air quality has been changing throughout the week and know if you can exercise outside, open windows, or should take caution if you’re in a sensitive group.
- Detailed Data: View all reporting data from any E.P.A. air quality station and see every pollutant’s measured concentration and AQI.
- Map: Browse all E.P.A. air quality stations by location and see every station’s reporting AQI.
- iOS 14 Widgets: Monitor any E.P.A. air quality station right from your home screen and supports all sizes: small, medium, and large.
- Shortcuts: Use air quality data to interact with other apps or devices.
- Purple Air Widget for iOS 14: Find the nearest outdoor sensor, search and select any Purple Air sensor, and select and enable corrections such as the E.P.A.’s wood smoke correction and University of Utah’s AQandU correction.
- Privacy By Default: No tracking, no ads, no data selling, no location monitoring, and no location sharing.
- Air Lookout Pro: Morning and evening notifications will tell you current conditions and the forecast for your area, favorite and track any station, detailed hourly graphs that show years of historical data for all E.P.A. monitoring sites, and custom app icons.
- Monitors PM2.5, PM10, Ozone, Nitrates, Sulfides, Carbon Monoxide, and more (12 pollutants can be monitored from supporting air quality stations).
- Data is provided by the United States Environmental Protection Agency.
- Offers subscriptions for “Air Lookout Pro” for $1.99USD per month or $19.99USD per year. Subscriptions will automatically renew unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period (and charged to your iTunes account). You can turn off auto-renew/manage subscriptions in your iTunes Account Settings after purchase.

Uses too much data
I was on a trip for a week and iOS said AirLookout used 1GB of cellular data! Even in my home area it used almost 900MB for the previous month. Way too much data usage for an app like this.

Finally!
As someone with a breathing disability who’s job is mainly outdoors, I’ve been searching for an app to replace the American lung associations app that no longer works with IOS upgrades. My search is now over! AirLookout not only shows the current air quality of my location, but nearby areas that I have to work in. THANK YOU! Simple to use. Easy to understand. Figured it out in less than five minutes. I use it every morning.

Outstanding Air Quality App
This is one of those Apps you See but don't see! I can't begin to tell you how outstanding AirLookout is I truly thank the people who put this together and like the main gentleman who did this thanked his girlfriend for hanging in there for the amount of time it took him to have what I feel is an awesome Air Quality App I thank her also! Trust me down load this now you'll get the picture fast!

Overalll I like it
I like the goal of presenting an easy to read aggregate of available information.
I wish I could look at other locations, not just where I am at the moment.

Not quite
It’s a nice app but doesn’t quite live up to expectations. The data is not accurate (we have a very smoky, orange sky, and AirLookout says ‘moderate’ (53) where other national weather apps put us at 158). Also, difficult to get to show info without location data. I don’t want to share location but just search by city/zip. The map saves AirLookout, when I can get to it, past the location data requirement.

Excellent!
If you live on the west coast or live in a brush fire region, I highly recommend AirLookout. I use it religiously as the smoke blows north into my county. It's wonderful to know I can have peace of mind when deciding to take my kids to the park or the family on a hike. AirLookout is also very well designed. Great app!

Best Air Quality App
I've downloaded a few air quality apps and this one is by far the best one out there. Not only does it tell you what the particulate count is, but, it tells you how dangerous each one is to you and what exactly each particulate is. Great app!

Looks like a winner
I just purchased AirLookout because of recent poor air quality in the Pacific Northwest due to wild fires. I haven't used it much yet, but my first impressions are that it looks like a well thought-out app by a detail-oriented and conscientious developer.

My station missing most important data!
I was excited to try AirLookout specifically to get small, fine particulate matter and ozone because that is precisely the pollution generated in my air by landscape maintenance equipment, blowers being the worst!
Please advise how I can contact my local station and get them to add this data. If I can get that, AirLookout will be perfect!

In overall a good app. Please add the option to get push notifications when the air quality level is higher than a given specific level/target and location selected by the user.

Make sure there are detectors in your global position
I can’t use AirLookout because there are no detectors in my part of the world but the support from Air Lookout is helpful and professional

No time stamps
The description implies that the information is updated every hour and the latest EPA data is shown. This does not appear to be the case. It doesn't display a time stamp so you can't tell how old the data is.

Good App, One Suggestion
App provides good air quality information in a simple, clean layout. One suggestion - on the Apple Watch complication, please give the user the ability to choose which air quality statistic to display. I live in an area where pollen is high, so I always see the pollen number rather than AQI on the complication. Would like to have the option to see AQI at all times.
