If only Apple could figure out how to be this consistent

This is it folks. This is such a useful tool. All because it gets the user around one of the most obnoxious long standing bugs in iOS that Apple apparently can’t figure out or just doesn’t care to. When your iphone stops opening app links in the apps on your phone and instead goes to Openeropenlinksinapps Store you now can just install Openeropenlinksinapps and use it to do what Apple can’t.

It’s a great alternative to having to backup, restore iOS, and then fix things that don’t come over in backups (oh, google authenticator, why can you not let me include my keys!? The backup is local and encrypted! So unreasonable! So google.)

Anyway. This developer has felt your pain for it was also their pain and they have given you their solution to all our pain for a low price. Just buy it already.

Clever App with Transparent Privacy Policy

As soon as I learned it could convert Google Maps links to Apple Maps Openeropenlinksinapps became a must-have! Google continues to make it harder and harder to extract an address from a google maps link. It’s a small thing, but turning a 5 step process into a couple of taps was easily enough to justify $1.99. I look forward to finding out what else it can do.

I also wanted to call out its privacy policy. It’s a very short read that spells out what information is and isn’t collected. The policy specifically states it doesn’t log specific urls unless you explicitly send them when requesting support. I’ve started reading privacy policies before downloading any app, and this was one of the better ones I’ve read.

This app needed—especially if you use Chrome

This is a great app for many reasons, but the top one for me is that Apple doesn’t play well with others sometimes and I prefer to use Chrome as a browser. But if I try to open a website and click their “open in app” button, it just opens Openeropenlinksinapps store even though I already have Openeropenlinksinapps . (Safari will open Openeropenlinksinapps when I already have it, but Chrome does not). That’s where Opener comes in handy! There are times when Openeropenlinksinapps doesn’t always work, but 90+% of the time, it’s dependable. Still 5 stars from me!

Update for developers: Is there an issue with iOS 14.5.1? I can’t seem to open a Reddit link. Tried to kill Openeropenlinksinapps and reopen it, but it seems to have gotten hung up.

This is worth every penny

I’ve honestly grown so use to having Openeropenlinksinapps. It is so well implemented it only takes a few steps to open in my favorite apps. If I could give any feedback then I would suggest to allow us to select a default app to launch then automatically load that app. I would say something similar to the way the Siri shortcuts app opens then launches an application the shortcut is set to. If you could remove one of the two clicks it takes to open the application it would make Opener even more amazing.

What more could you ask for?

I’m going on 3 years or so using this application, and I don’t ever see myself stopping unless similar functionality is added to iOS out of the box. The gap that this application fills for iOS functionality is an absolute necessity in how I use my phone. Not only does this perform flawlessly in its given task, Tim takes feedback and implements feature requests if he can. Love this application, will continue to be a long time user! Awesome!

It just works ❤️

I love when an app works like it says it will. Openeropenlinksinapps has been one of my ride or dies for a while. It's reliable and consistent and that's saying a lot in Openeropenlinksinapps world. Kudos to the developers for keeping Openeropenlinksinapps running smoothly 👏🏾! While I'd love to see more apps supported, I'm pleased with the apps that are supported because they work. Keep it up! 🏆

New update bug

Been using this for a year or so and it worked pretty well until the last update. After updating I couldn't open send safari links in firefox, as it didn't show up on the action menu. I tried redownloading it and now opener doesn't even show up on Openeropenlinksinapps intro action menu.
Otherwise, this is a very handy app if you routinely use the share button, glad I bought it.

Maybe I misunderstood…

I’m not sure what this offers for apps that already have the extension for opening via the share menu.

For example, Apollo allows you to do this natively through Openeropenlinksinapps . I click a Reddit link, it pulls up the god-awful Reddit mobile site, I tap share, then open in Apollo. From what I can tell Opener has the exact same functionality except you can customize other links with other apps that don’t support this natively (which is cool to have, so there is that).

I was under the impression that I could use this tool to click Reddit links from anywhere in iOS and have them automatically launch Apollo. No sharing menu, no copying URLs, etc.

I’m happy to be corrected if I’m way off base here but if not I just wanted other potential users to know this.

Been using for years now

One of the most useful apps I have and it's buried in a folder somewhere and I never actually open Openeropenlinksinapps besides setting the initial options years ago. I think it was a dollar or two when I got it not sure about now but trust me (and all the other reviews) it's definitely worth the price.

AMAZING

Dev within a day added a feature request for INSPECT Browser. Now I can take safari links (better trackpad support, plays better with web apps) and use inspect to preview the console and network tabs during web app development. This literally turned my ipad into a viable replacement for a macbook for on the web app development for web apps

Wonderful!

I’m one of those weirdos that prefers to use Apple Maps over Google Maps. Yet, directions searched for in Safari always open in Google Maps. Grrrrr. But - Openeropenlinksinapps saves the day! I’ve Google Maps on my phone so I can get the directions. Google opens, I hit the arrow to use Opener and boom! Opener is there for me to switch over to Apple Maps. It just works! Thanks for Openeropenlinksinapps.

Amazing utility

I’ve been using Opener for years and still regularly find myself impressed by how well it works. Nearly every time I find myself thinking, “Okay, but Opener is gonna have no idea what to do with this one” I am wrong.

Can’t say enough good things about it. So glad Openeropenlinksinapps exists.

Very useful

You might not realize you're missing it now, but any time you try to "open in" and can't access the things you want, you're missing Opener. It's incredibly simple to use and I use it at least daily. Kind of a bandaid for an otherwise annoying hole in the iOS functionality.

Fills an important gap in iOS Safari

Thank you for giving an option to better deal with links in Safari. I have a few feature requests.

Could this be made a Safari extension to automatically open configured URLs?

Great app - my tip

Love Openeropenlinksinapps it works great. I have a tip to use it faster. Use it with back tap under touch - accessibility. You can either set a back tap to the open with opener shortcut or use it with spotlight and open opener from any app. It makes everything faster in my opinion.

Exactly what I needed!

When opening a link for directions for work it always automatically opens in Google Maps but I prefer Waze. I hated having to copy and paste the link all the time (only because I have to do it numerous times a day). Now I can open it straight to Waze instead!

Absolute must have!

This is low-key one of my favorite apps I have! It just works, and the developer is super quick at fixing issues or adding support for new apps.
If you have an iPad Pro, this is especially awesome as it brings you one step closer to having a “real” computer-like experience.

The best

The best things go unnoticed because that’s how well they work. You barely notice them doing their thing...Good design. Good artwork. Always appears effortless. Openeropenlinksinapps is that.

This is a super useful app that stays out of the way! If you think you might need this, you probably do, and you definitely won’t regret it.

Thankful for this

iOS is incredibly frustrating when you want to do something other than the “Apple Way”. This tool gives us back some control. I recommend it. The developer is very responsive to issues as well.

Not for me...

What I absolutely need is an app to PREVENT links opening in apps and allow me to continue in Safari. Hate it when items insist on opening in-app. My workaround is to delete Openeropenlinksinapps from my device (Pinterest, for example). Opener (gave 3 stars because it works OK on the occasion that it chooses to open in something other than Safari) seems so unnecessary, as everything forces me to open in-app as a default!
