Mostly in love

I have been using this app daily for over a year now and i love all its features and its very easy to understand how to get the most from copymethat. There is one thing i dislike and it will likely be the reason i eventually move to another program instead, and that is this problem in the shopping list... although i can add as many new categories as i want, i can NOT delete the default categories, nor change their names. The program will always list my shopping items under the default categories regardless. I would like my food list to be categorized under the store names i created, rather than the general tag of dairy, meat, spice etc. what is the point of being able to add categories if the program wont recognize them and list my items there? One feature i like the most is the red border of the page display itself and the large blocks of photo recipes listed in a grid. As a visually oriented person i find copymethat a pleasure for my eyes and finding inspiration for cooking is easy with the program. It runs exceptionally well on my ipad and even works in landscape mode.

Pretty good, just a few things missing

I think it’s a great app that is definitely going to replace Pepperplate for me (have been looking for a decent replacement for a while because it was getting buggier and buggier, probably not supported anymore). This looks like it will do the trick. The browser button works well, and the tags are useful. I just think that there is a lot they can do to make the app a standalone version of the system. Right now you can’t pay for premium in the app ; instead, you have to go to the browser and login to the website. Also, the recipe doesn’t include times for things. Also you have to do double line breaks between instructions to make them numbered or bullets. The formatting was much more simple/straightforward on Pepperplate, but I actually wanted to be able to pay for something that would continue to be supported and improved. Looks like this one is going to fit that bill.

Powerful Little App

I don't normally write reviews for apps, but I am making an exception for Copy Me That because it is everything I have been looking for in a recipe app for years. I love how I can customize my recipes with tags to be able to sort with my own categories. I especially love how open ended the menu planning is—most meal planning apps and calendars only allow for three or four meals a day; I really like that with this app I can plan as many meals and snacks in a day as I want. I am really close to purchasing the lifetime membership. The minor complaint I have is the browser button in my app doesn't work. I would like to be able to open my linked recipes in Safari. From what I've seen over the last few months, the browser button does not open Safari. I don't know if this is a glitch or intentional. I would also love if developers would integrate a printer friendly version of the menu planner (that writes out the day's meals in a simple list instead of the thumbnail view that is the current default). I would like to be able to print off the week's menu plan on a single sheet of paper to have up in my kitchen where it's always visible. Despite these minor things, the app is pretty near perfectly what I want in a meal planning and recipe organizing app. Highly recommend!
