Guide for Binding of Isaac Reviews

I've been using Guide to track my progress on the Nintendo Switch version of Isaac and it is amazing it has almost everything I could ever want, but just almost I have some problems with Guide that kind of double as suggestions.

(Champions)

I think it would be nice to have a this app to the champion forms of enemies and what each color does.

(Antibirth)

When the settings for Antibirth are enabled your ”Collection” section doesn't include Antibirth Achievements, Items, Witness completion marks, or Characters. I'm thinking that it would be reasonable to add this content for when someone is playing Antibirth.

(Current Game Switching)

If you wanted to add the original BoI and BoI:WotL I feel it would make a more comprehensive this app. I don't know if it is possible, however, my idea is: Three sections one for ”Classic Isaac”, ”Repentance”, and ”Antibirth”

This is the first and last this app you’ll ever need. From when you first start out, to when you’re running your 3000th and the effect of the item you’re looking at is just on the tip of your tongue.

With everything from base Rebirth to the newly released Repentance, you can easily find the information you need and ALSO track individual saves progress. Every achievement, challenge, item, boss and character all packed nicely into an app that is COMPLETELY FREE to use with ads (they can be removed by paying for Guide !)

Note for the dev: You’re missing entries on Baby Plum and Plum Flute from Repentance, but everything else is here from what I’ve seen.

You know when you’re going through a dungeon and you see an item. What does it do? How does it work with what I have? Should I pick it up? Any question you have I’m pretty sure Guide can answer for you. From cards to transformations. I haven’t had a question that Guide couldn’t answer for me.

Some things I found useful: When you look at an item you can mark if you found it or not also on the characters you can mark what completions marks you have. If your new to this game or old there is something in Guide for you. I open it as soon as I start the game every time.

Guide saves me so much time and trouble while playing Binding of Isaac: Afterbirth+. I usually like to just get the item and learn what it does the first time around, but with SO many items, it’s easy to forget what each one does.

It is so quick to search for any item or trinket you come across with Guide. Being able to filter by the Item Pool one comes from is handy, but even better is the color sorting that allows you to quickly find the info you need and get back to the game.

I haven’t fully utilized it yet, but the ability to mark the items you’ve collected and bosses you’ve defeated seems like a great help to any completionist.

I’ve been using Guide for years now. It is informative in every way down to the synergies. Sure you can learn as you play but for someone who has played as long as I have it’s nice being able to go to Guide to quickly remind myself what specific items do. The camera function is a great addition. I only wish my hands were more steady so I could actually use it but I’m sure if they didn’t shake it would save me a lot of time when I come across an item I’ve never seen. I’ve grown accustomed to picking what item pool I need to look through to find the item I need more information on.

I’ve been using this for about 8 months now, and it’s saved so much time not having to pull up the wiki. The amount of options to search by helps a ton, as it recognizes things like color or shape of the item if you don’t quite know the name or feel like looking through all the icons. And it’s especially useful when playing Isaac on my switch on the plane, as all of the info is available offline. Guide is so well done I also went and bought their Enter The Gungeon this app as well which has just as much attention to detail paid to it

When repentance came out, they were super quick to start getting stuff added. There’s still a few bosses (BABY PLUM) not added and none of the new monsters but I know everything will be there soon enough. I love Guide and constantly pull it up while I’m playing and forget what an item does. Very happy to have this while I’m playing and props to whoever keeps up with the updates because I know it’s a lot to have to add and they’re doing great. It’s also my favorite app to play around on when I don’t have internet. I just study items and achievements haha.

can’t recommend Guide highly enough- I use it pretty much every single time I play isaac.

it’s also really cool that the creators offer a free version of Guide, with the only cost being short ads (and they don’t even play after every search- they only pop up every now & then). I’m glad that anyone can benefit from Guide even if they can’t spend $ because it really is super useful (and very thorough). once I started using it more & more, spending the 1.99 to go ad free was a no-brainer.

tldr awesome app, super thorough. saved me so much googling. if u play binding of isaac, it will be useful.

Guide is like TBOI Wiki, but with so much more. For the average player, it has a lot of tools to make finding the information you need quick and painless. For the achievement hunter, it has a great system to keep track of your progress, and can even be synced to your Steam account as well as some other platforms. On top of this, it has consistently been updated in a timely and accurate manner as the game itself changes. The features are too many to list here, but I would highly recommend any player of the game to check them out.

This is an amazing app, there is soooo much to it, it has everything you have ever wanted. This this app is very helpful for people with >200 hours of the game. I feel that the amount of effort put into Guide is incredible! Guide deserve to have 6/5 stars! The best part is that you can access EVERYTHING without adds! Guide needs an option where I can just keep watching ads to support the developers, because they deserve it! But seriously there are almost no ads which is AMAZING! Is app is a instant D7/D6! (I didn’t even know the D7 was a thing until I got Guide!) Everyone who likes TBOI needs to get Guide!

With the new TBOI repentance out I wanted an app that had that update and even the wiki is missing some stuff. This is SO amazing and even helps me track what I still need to do for the game and keep it organized. You can mark what you’ve finished and collected and it’s so helpful. Wish I had this before I started. More helpful then online and so much faster. No more clicking through tabs. It’s also great if you don’t know an items name. I recommend this for anyone who wants help with Isaac. Love the people who made this. It’s amazing.

It doesn’t just have every item in the game. But it has every character, boss, object, enemy, etc. It shows how to unlock all characters, it can categorize the items by room type or other criteria. It’s also super easy to look up items, even if you don’t know the name. For example, if an item is a big red circle, you can type into the search bar “red”, and every item in the game that has red in the icon will pop up. Great app, ads are the only thing but they pop up pretty infrequently

I’ve been playing Isaac for awhile and I downloaded Guide when Afterbirth + was out (or when I learned it was out). I’ve been using it ever since and it’s been super helpful for repentance. No wait time or buffer besides a couple ads here or there and Guide gets straight to the point, even adding notes or possible synergies that would work with an item or character. Over Guide is 10/10 and I super appreciate the development/developers behind it

Love it a lot, there’s an occasional ad but it’s quick. Been playing Binding of Isaac for many years now and I have always used Guide while playing the game. So helpful, you can sort items by color if you don’t know the name, you can sort by item pool or type of room and shows in depth information on how the item is acquired. There is so much information that it’s too long to list on here. 100% recommend for any binding of Isaac player.

This has helped me a lot when playing. Guide ’s far more convenient than using the web, which is great. It pretty much covers everything I’ve needed to find out on the spot. All in all, the full app’s worth it.

On another note, (this could be just me not being able to see it) I can’t seem to find where enemy champions are at in Guide . Knowing exactly which color does what and the chances they have to drop their specific item could help a lot on hard mode. Thanks again for the help.

Guide has all the information you need, in every variation of organization. It also makes tracking unlocks easy. By far worth the purchase.

The only thing I’d say is it can be a little bit hard to see whether items in the collection tab are gathered or not. Especially the darker items like chaos, 20/20, judas’ shadow, etc. an option in the settings to change the background color would be nice to help this.

Guide itself is fantastic. the camera feature is especially handy for a person who still hasnt memorized the items.

That being said though, the ads are god awful as they pop up after every couple items you look up and click on. the ads themselves arent the worst I’ve seen though.

The plus side is that getting rid of ads is pretty cheap considering the quality of Guide .

I’ve used Guide basically every single time I play The Binding of Isaac since 2015. It’s NEVER let me down. The layout of Guide and the ease of use to find out about items quickly has always been superb! Just re-downloaded for the first time in a while and noticed the camera scan feature. Amazing! What other this app app developers are putting this level of care and love into their free this app apps? Big congrats to the developer!

I don't usually leave reviews but I got this on xbox because all of the items were confusing and then I got a friend to play and I use the this app and we alternate. This this app got me into Isaac because of the easy to use search bar and items, and then they updated it for repentance and its a great interface. I would get it and if you enjoy it then I suggest buying premium, also check out the gungeon this app

Guide is so handy to keep track of all your unlocks in Isaac or just learn what each item does. I downloaded the free version and almost instantly bought the paid version. The developer has put allot of thought and care into Guide and it shows. I’ve got over 400 hours in Isaac and still love to just scroll through Guide to re check item descriptions or different synergies. Much easier then going to the Isaac wiki or platinum god. You should definitely give Guide a try!

I think it a really good app that has helped me figure out what something does in the game. In a game like Isaac it can get hard to remember what each item does or how to unlock them or what a certain room does. I recommend Guide and think it is really nice to have. Only thing I would like to have is the option to link it to an Xbox account because I don’t like having to go and toggle each thing that I unlock/finished manually. But other than that, it’s really good.

I love how Guide tells the affects and tells you how to get items it's extremely useful. But on random intervals Guide will just freeze, it's somewhat rare but when it happens it slows your phone down. Also, curses need to be added from antibirth such as curse of the giant and it's not on there even though you put some antibirth items and trinkets in Guide so why not curses. Thanks for the great app though. All Isaac players will appreciate this.

TBoI is a simple, fun, and almost never ending. Now I don’t like to have help for me learn and beat a game, but sometimes, with games like these, you can’t guess what all 1000 items do! The search feature is MEGA easy, along with little nifty ones like the “I have discovered/obtained this item” and I’ve had Guide for as long as I’ve been playing Isaac on my PS4. Love you guys for making this. I think it’s even better than the wiki Isaac site too!!!! Love

Thankyou for the response. I’ve realized after posting my review back in recent times that it belonged in Afterbirth+, and thought that the killing Mega Satan symbol was meant for Delirium. Thanks for clearing that up. I’d like to add a quick just saying that I can feel like some information that goes into some parts of Guide feel like an actual person talking like ‘it seems to be — too..’ instead of a straight forward, bland experience.

It's the complete full this app must buy for 100% runs helped me figure out what each and every item/boss does even includes some steam workshop items do! Every once in a while an add will pop up not a big deal at all especially considering what Guide has to offer I still haven't even finished reading all boss combos I have a lot of work to do in short thanks for this awesome app no pay walls for full access. :)

This is by far , the best app/this app for those who play Isaac, but don’t know that much about the game just yet . It gives you all the information you need to play , and doesn’t leave out anything. It tells you how to unlock items , trinkets , and gives you information about bosses and characters . Overall Guide /this app is put together very well and it’s not a hassle to find what you’re looking for . 5/5 .

I honestly would not enjoy The Binding of Isaac without a this app a like this. The game is great but its completely vague descriptions for lots of items make it some what frustrating, and a this app like this just helps tons.

Being able to quickly look up an item or unlock method is fantastic, and it's also nice to be able to see synergies with different items.

Overall a great this app and definitely worth it.

This this app is very well made and convenient to use. Extremely useful for finding items when you don’t know the name, as there is an option to sort the items by color, making it very easy to find what you are looking for! Guide has about all the information I was looking for. 5 stars, would recommend to a friend!
