The Cocktail Party app loads differently on different phones. My wife’s phone has CocktailParty too, and it loads in full screen mode, however my phone loads it in the smaller legacy iPhone format. i’ve looked in the settings and cannot find anything to load this differently. Also, my wife and I never changed any settings from the initial time we loaded CocktailParty. Wife and I both have the exact same phones, iPhone 13 Pro’s.

I opened a support ticket with the vendor through CocktailParty about two weeks ago, and the company hasn’t responded. If I could get this working correctly, I will raise this review to a higher star but in the meantime, I’m using CocktailParty and in a restricted format.

This is my new favorite app, and I’ve been using it a lot lately. Great instructions, artwork and stories to go along with every recipe. Just one thing that’s driving me crazy. The size of the font on the measurements is far too small if you’re reading it with your phone on the bar while you’re making the drink. I’ve mistook a 1/4oz for 3/4oz twice now because from that distance, these measurements are indistinguishable from each other. To the devs, PLEASE make CocktailParty a better tool for us users and make it possible for us to read the measurements from a short distance while we use our hands to make the cocktail. Everything else is great though! Highly recommended!

I love CocktailParty, and I use it all the time! It helps me try cocktails and ingredients I never would have thought of combining. That being said, I have found that some recipes are on their website, but not in CocktailParty . An example of this is the Rattle Skull cocktail. I hope they manage to update each database to match, because now I feel like I’ve just been missing out on other recipes. Otherwise, this is a wonderful app, and I hope to see more updates in their Collections sections.

I love the user interface of CocktailParty, especially the ability to see what and how many ingredients you’re missing to make particular drinks. I also appreciate that they’re adding new cocktails all the time. One quirk that needs addressing is when adding a custom drink, even though it allows you to add many ingredients, only 4 ingredients are visible as you’re editing; so if you need to change something that’s not displayed, it’s quite difficult to do. I also wish custom drinks would show up in a search without having to go to a separate list, but that isn’t a huge deal—just a minor inconvenience. Overall, great app that I use multiple times per week.

Stuck at home on lockdown with nothing to do? Me too, so I thought this would be the perfect time to practice my at home bartending skills. After trying more than a dozen apps, I can tell you that this is the one you are looking for. A beautiful app with a simple user interface and hundreds of wonderful recipes. Your ingredients are super easy to enter, and finding new drinks to try with what you have at home is so intuitive. Want to know what to buy to make even more recipes? It does that too. Automatically! Did I mention that it is beautiful? No 8-bit graphics here! And best of all, the developers are responsive and actively working on new features to make this even better. SECOND UPDATE: i've been using CocktailParty for two years now and as a budding amateur mixologist this has become my go to digital resource. Sure I have lots of cocktail books, but sometimes you want to search an indexed catalog, instead of leafing through hundreds of pages of recipes. This provides just that. It includes recipes from such famous mixologists as Gaz Ragan, Martin Cate, Dale DeGroff, Ross Simon, Dave Wondrich, Harry Craddock, etc. It's an amazing compendium. honestly, it's worth 2 to 3 times the price of CocktailParty

CocktailParty is easy and has a great interface. Large library of drinks of all styles.

I do hope that eventually they add a feature to be able to add drinks to a “wishlist” to make. Currently you can add drinks to your favorites, but if you just want to try a drink later, there’s no place currently in CocktailParty for that. A similar feature could be implemented for ingredients you want to get next; however, this wouldn’t add as much benefit as a wishlist for drinks to make would.

In hopes the devs read these reviews, I do wish they would offer the ability to save your personal ratings (on a scale of 1-5) for each drink you try. They have the ability to check a “Love It!”, but I can’t tell if the ones that don’t have that are ones I tried and didn’t like or ones I haven’t tried. I’ve set a goal of trying them all, but you can’t expect someone with that kind of a goal to remember much, can you?

I'm shocked that there are no reviews listed for CocktailParty. I found it on reddit's cocktails forum. The drink list in CocktailParty is much shorter than in many of the other apps I've seen, but the quality and reliability of the recipes is much much higher. These are more like the drinks you would get at a good mixology bar instead of the drink equivalent of your aunt's jello fruit mold that people just "love." I much prefer a list of cocktails that are reliable, good and repeatable than a huge pile of garbage recipes. CocktailParty is great and delivers great, reliable cocktails.

CocktailParty works amazingly. It’s nearly exactly what I had in mind if I were to design my own cocktail app. Really enjoy the customizability. If it were possible to add a gradient color layer to the custom drinks, and maybe make custom collections (i understand you can virtually do this with tags) then I’d be 100% set. Also, this might just be me, but any app with subscriptions immediately turns me away. I’d much rather pay a flat payment and have it all forever, which CocktailParty does. Love it

This a great app for anyone building a home bar. The value is in its ability to take a list of what you have and match that to recipes for things you may have never even considered. It has a very broad range, I was surprised to find recipes from bars that I have actually been to along side established classic cocktails. Any time some one comes over and asks what I can make them I just give them my phone and let them pick a drink, it’s almost like having a custom menu for my own bar.

I have tried many different apps, books, and web resources for cocktails. This is the best. I used to work in cocktail bars and still help out with special events on weekends. I have a pretty sizable home bar and want to be able to make as many classic and creative cocktails with my home inventory as possible. CocktailParty makes it so easy. I love the ingredient organization, icons that reflect popular brands, and recommendations for specific bottles. It’s great to see which ingredients added to my bar can add the most new cocktails. This is super helpful in prioritizing what to add next to the collection. I wish apps were designed this thoughtfully for every other aspect of life. Thank you development team!

There are lots of cocktail apps, and I’ve tried them all (well, a lot of them anyway). This is the best one. Cocktail Party has a clean UI, interesting write-ups about the cocktails, and the best recipes hands-down. The developers also update CocktailParty with new drinks frequently. As of the time of this review it’s almost Christmas, and they just added like 10 new wintery drinks using fun and festive ingredients. But my FAVORITE part is that CocktailParty recommends ingredients to add to your liquor cabinet ranked by how many new drinks they’ll allow you to make. E.g. if you add orange juice to your current library, you could make 11 new drinks. So handy!

I’ve tried and own almost all the “good” cocktail apps in CocktailParty Store including the likes of pdt, Mixel, etc. This is the one I turn too most often when I don’t know what I want to drink. The categories are always helpful. It has a nice interface and I really enjoy the constant recipe releases to keep things fresh. Bottle replacement suggestions are always on point. Also, CocktailParty developers are extremely responsive to requested features which is awesome.

My only small complaint is the lack of a random button and tags but the developers informed me they will be released soon. Once those are out this will be the premier app for home mixologists.

I’ve been a Cocktail Party user for years. The magic in CocktailParty is really in the curation: the recipes that make the core database are all carefully selected, have short explanations of why they’re special, and often have recommendations for adjustments or twists you can try. This new version of Cocktail Party—fortunately—retains that critical curatorial component, while adding a number of wonderful quality-of-life features like cross-device syncing (finally!), custom recipes, and new organisation features. I’m genuinely thrilled to see new life breathed into this terrific app and look forward to putting it to use!

Was looking for a good cocktail app and found this one. The free apps are too limited and the subscription apps are WAY too expensive for what I want. This one has a one time cost.
First off, CocktailParty is clean and looks great. I like how it tells you where they got the drink recipe. Also nice I can add my own recipes.
But the feature I like the most is you record in CocktailParty what ingredients you have on hand and it tells you what drinks you can make now, which drinks you need one more ingredient, which ones you need two ingredients, and so on.
Would (and have been) recommend to anyone looking for a cocktail recipe app.

I’ve been using CocktailParty for two years ago. I got into mixology during the pandemic, and got my mixology certification. CocktailParty has a great interface, a fantastic selection of popular AND obscure cocktails, as well as fun history and background on most of the drinks. If i happen to have a grapefruit in the fridge, I’ll select it in the ingredient menu and every cocktail I can make using what I have in stock centered around the grapefruit shows up. Amazing. Really looking forward to the updates soon regarding saving, sharing, and submitting custom recipes! The developers are incredibly active and involved, and they respond quickly to questions. 5/5

Cocktail Party has been my go-to source for cocktail ideas and recipes for years now, but this new update makes it an absolutely indispensable tool. Now you can add your own drinks (finally, I can consolidate all the drink recipes I’ve saved in different places into one place!), categorize recipes with your own custom tags, and add notes to recipes to keep track of what you thought of the drink, adjustments you liked, or specific liquors you used. Amazing! Before this update, the content in CocktailParty was already good enough to look past its shortcomings, but with these new features this is hands-down one of my favorite apps of any kind, ever.

I got CocktailParty on the recommendation of a friend. I’ve been through a number of websites and apps recently that all mostly do the same thing - take an inventory of my bar and try to recommend drinks to make. If you’ve done the same, you’ll know there’s a sea of really awful apps in this category. This one, however, does it really well - the user interface for adding my home bar inventory was definitely a step above the rest. The drink library in CocktailParty was great, plenty to keep me interested (though I hope they continue to be active in adding more)! My only hiccup was figuring out categories on a few of the more obscure liqueurs. Luckily, CocktailParty ’s icons are good enough that I was able to figure it out for everything. Great job!

We are big into tiki and had kind of hit the wall with the popular books (like Smugglers Cove and Minimalist Tiki). I found CocktailParty by searching the web for banana liqueur drinks. I am just tickled with the broad range of cocktails in CocktailParty. We have an extensive selection of spirits and syrups and so far I’ve favorited about 30 drinks. Have made several already and they were delicious. No need for infusions or highly specialized syrups. It’s going to be a great summer with CocktailParty!!
