Carrera Race Management App Reviews

App does not work as Carrera describes. "Quick-start Racing" button makes you re-enter most of the racing info. Not really a "Quick" start. The "Performance Test" does not work (requests you to enter a circuit but does not list your entered circuits). The reason I purchased CarreraRaceManagementApp required "Carrera AppConnect" bluetooth connection component was for the advertised racing sounds and commentary. CarreraRaceManagementApp does not provide this feature. Carrera should be ashamed to sell (app is free but you have to buy the Carrera AppConnect device) such a poor feature that barely does what it is advertised to do. NOT WORTH THE MONEY!

The idea behind CarreraRaceManagementApp is good. Extend and enhance the physical experience with an app. The execution is not close to what it could and should be.
- not intuitive: I have teenagers using it for a minute..then drop it cause its too much time to get through it
- bad response
- old design thinking
- introduces drivers that have not been created
- ..just too. Many things that are just not what any app nowadays should offer
This has gotta be revamped with not an overhaul, but a from scratch built. It can be the engagement extender for a physical game. Today, very disappointedly not anywhere near the potential :(

Older version announced driver leading race, lead changes etc. Sad to see an update eliminate one of the best features of an app especially when the overall improved design was good. It should not take this long to fix a small bug or add what customers are requesting. GET ER DONE

App wasn't that great to begin with, now the sound won't work (it also updated my controller without telling me what was in the update, I'm worried).

SmartRace is compatible with Carrera's Bluetooth adapter and works much better, albeit it isn't free...

CarreraRaceManagementApp is basically broken. The previous version worked ok with race sounds and commentary. The sound no longer works in this version! Other functions are buggy.

CarreraRaceManagementApp bricked my Control unit after trying to update via Bluetooth after trying to use two different iOS devices. Now I’m out 100 bucks and I can’t race. CARRERA FIX THIS!! This is really disappointing.

Most disappointing app I have ever used. Just updated my controller and now my unit is useless. Sent message to Carrera and no reply. CarreraRaceManagementApp obviously was not tested or they would not have published. DO NOT LOAD.

Totally crashed STAY AWAY

Very exciting idea, wonderful tool but it needs work. Right now I'm unplugging this and will await for version update that will hopefully fix issues. Do not buy till its fixed... Issues:
1- non existent tutorial or instructions. impossible to assign cars to screen, no idea what car is what on CarreraRaceManagementApp. Deal breaker right there... Plz fix
2- very strange... Volume of announcer and sfx too low. When connecting to a external speaker to address this only parts of sound come through? As a app developer love to know how u introduced that bug?
3- UI and UX gets a C score. When viewing speed adj for example back doesnt take u back to menu but back to start?
4- can u please add an english language option not everyone speaks high german :)

CarreraRaceManagementApp does not live up to the Carrera name. I am a collector with over 100 of the digital 132 Carrera cars in my collection. The cars and track are top quality. Works of art. The racing experience would be much improved if Carrera would continually work to upgrade CarreraRaceManagementApp . Carrera is merging real works into the digital market and users expect fewer bugs and intuitive software that is user friendly. Why no response since January 2016? Carrera has a fantastic product they need to work on CarreraRaceManagementApp to match the cars' performance. When that happens Carreras customers will be having better neighborhood races and introducing the product to a new generation. Listen to your loyal customers Carrera and improve the software. With a little imagination you could add some good graphic, suggested racing formats, built in digital mechanical issues randomly hitting cars, etc to improve the racing experience.

Many reviewers have stated that they cannot figure out what car numbers they are as they race. I have wireless controllers and each controller and not the cars represent the car numbers. Weird yes but I noticed that each time I put a car on the track it was given a number. When I found controller number one I programmed it to my favorite car and now it's car number one when it goes around the track or it has my race manager name on it. In short the car number is based on which remote you programmed first during wireless set up.

CarreraRaceManagementApp is no more than a piece of GARBAGE!!!
I bought my set and many accessories and expansions a couple of months ago and I have had ZERO satisfaction and LOTS of problems, the developers of CarreraRaceManagementApp should be ashamed to produce this type of trash. Every update has VERY little improvement but tons of issues, after this last update I had to delete the application and reinstall it due to crashing, of course I lost ALL my data that took me weeks to gather. I have invested over a thousand dollars in this track that will be up for sale tomorrow, I hope I will never have to deal with a company like this again.
STAY WAY FROM THIS COMPANY AND IT'S STUFF AND SAVE MONEY AND TIME!!!

I have connected the dongle and I can connect to it. It prompts me to update the Control Unit. I do accept and reach up to 99% and gets stuck there. same behavior on iPad and iPhone. I've created the circuit, have added the drivers and cars. When I click the start race button it doesn't do anything other than showing the drivers. Timers don't start. I can run the cars on the tracks but it looks like there is no communication with CarreraRaceManagementApp . Support and information on the web is very limited.

Bought the BT dongle and so far my 6+ connects about 90% of the time. The issues I am having are.

1. When running a race the "ghost" cars are all labeled #7 and therefore get counted everyone one passes the sensor racking up laps.

2. Sometimes during the race the wrong car is getting credit for the laps or laps aren't being counted at all.

3. The ambient sounds work only about 50% of the time and the commentator only about 20% of the time.

4. You can only display the top 3 cars racing so if there is more than 3 the 4th+ either has to log in as a "driver" or they can't see their fuel levels.

The only reason I gave CarreraRaceManagementApp 3 stars is because the car setting feature works as advertised and it's real easy to use other wise. Hopefully since you can no longer use the old lap counter or position tower with CarreraRaceManagementApp and Bluetooth hardware the company works on these bugs ASAP.

Like the other reviewers, I spend a considerable amount of time to connect to the BT dongle. (Don't try to connect from "Settings" - connect from CarreraRaceManagementApp only)

Still CarreraRaceManagementApp can't keep track of laps and vehicles correctly.

Stadelbauer should be ashamed to put this out to the public. The documentation is a joke and the software is buggy.

The updates have added some much needed control over picking cars and some obvious time tracking features. I was unable to run a bluetooth speaker for sound at the same time, or CarreraRaceManagementApp would frequently crash. But this is starting to get there. Next on my wish list: remember which controller is assigned to each car until I manually change it.

I am no longer able to open CarreraRaceManagementApp because it immediately crashes.

UPDATE: Reinstalling CarreraRaceManagementApp must have forced a version update and it is working well.

After hours of messing with this we were finally able to get a connection but can't add other racers that profiles were created for. It seems like a great idea but some flaws and lack of instructions make it very frustrating.

The idea of CarreraRaceManagementApp and the AppConnect is great and can change the way slot cars races are. CarreraRaceManagementApp gives all the info you need during the race and give the race a lot of fun. But CarreraRaceManagementApp itself is totaly bugged, and crashes all the time. Needs urgent update!

CarreraRaceManagementApp constantly crashes even after uninstalling it and reinstalling it. Right now it isn't worth the money for the bluetooth until they get CarreraRaceManagementApp fixed.
