The app I love to hate

Overall JiveCommunications is a great idea, however it is also my biggest headache. I have held off on rating JiveCommunications in hopes it would improve, but have continued to have problems. When it come to incoming calls it is usually a waste of time to try to answer a call. Either I can not hear the caller or the caller can not hear me. JiveCommunications logs you out but does not let you know you have been logged out so you do not receive calls or sms messages. I have spent countless time on the phone and via email with customer support and it is one rabbit hole after another. It would be one thing if only 1 or 2 users were having an issue but it is the whole organization. Not to mention the response time of customer support is a bit reductionist. You either sit on hold for 30 min or if you communicate via email it is one email a day. Really makes me want to fire the old Nortel system back up, at least it did what it was designed to do.




Crap

My company has me using an iPhone 8+. Everyday JiveCommunications logs me out. When I try to log back in it says there was an unexpected error and I am unable to log back in. Called their tech support and they said uninstall JiveCommunications and reinstall it. Ok it worked. The next day it does it again. Uninstalled and reinstalled and it works. After a week of uninstalling and reinstalling JiveCommunications everyday, I called their tech support again. Spent 30 minutes on the call 90% of that time was on hold while the representative went back and forth check this, not the problem, over and over again. Asked to be transferred to another representative (tier 2) was placed on hold again. After 5 minutes I hung up. The only possible solution they gave me was to pay apple a monthly cloud storage fee. My company would cover that cost, but that’s not the point. Why do I have to pay someone else money to make your app work.




Jive has gone down the drain

If you’re considering Jive for your business, as a former partner, I’d advise against it. To say they are grossly incompetent is being generous. Their products including this mobile app, the web admin console, etc are riddled with bugs. Support is mostly in Guatemala now and doesn’t understand their own products. We’ve identified broken core features and phone firmware bugs only to be told they are known issues that have been fixed in device firmware from the manufacturer but jive has no timeline for rolling out said firmware. We’ve identified features with call queues that don’t work as documented impacting ALL jive customers, and are still not fixed months later. Try another voip company like intermedia if you want a stable product and support.




Convenient but has a couple bugs

So far my experience with the Jive app has been okay. My contact names come through with the CRM I’m connected with. I can make phone calls while I’m out and about with out using my personal number. The two big bugs I’ve been encountering though are 1) not being able to enter passwords while on 3 way calls (tapping the numbers) 2) when clients call in, they can’t hear me and I can’t hear them. I have to call them back.

Other than those two bugs though, it’s not that bad of an app.




Constant Issues, Bad Service, Bad Support

We chose Jive because of partnership & integration with zoho. Very dissatisfied. We’ve had the same constant problems since first day of service. Multiple help ticket requests. Various attempts at escalating. Never resolved never fixed. Basically been a useless provider, and detrimental to our clients & our business, and horribly hinders our ability to provide high customer service standards to our own clientele. The threat to lose our business made no difference. We’re now letting zoho know about our negative experience and canceling our service with jive. Definitely won’t be recommending this company ever again.




Can’t believe this app is what it is

A app like this should just work being from a reputable company like it is. JiveCommunications is probably the worst app I have on my phone. Several issues but I’ll note the first few.
1. JiveCommunications logs out randomly without notifying you. Missed calls all the time because I don’t realize it’s logged out.
2. Texting is a joke on JiveCommunications . Sometimes I get notification days later that I received a text (even while logged in).
3. Voicemail is pretty bad too. Every call that comes in and the called doesn’t leave a voicemail there is still a 1-3 second voicemail of the sound of them just hanging up.
Many other things but I’m sure it’s listing in someone else’s comment. I wish I had known this before signing a contract with them. I’m willing to get another service still just to get off this platform.
I will say their backend system is pretty nice with phone tree customization and other cool features but it’s not worth how JiveCommunications is and I need JiveCommunications .




Scam!! Watch out for the “early termination fee “!!!!

I was originally told that if I terminate my contract, I would only have to pay for the equipment that I used. So I used it for 2-3 weeks and decided it wasn’t good for my business. I tried to cancel and now they want me to pay for 3 years of service!!! What service?!?! I was told I can cancel anytime by their salesman Edwin. Now they are practically holding me hostage and won’t terminate my contract. It’s been 2 months already and they still “looking into it”. Scam of the decade. Watch out people!!! On top of that, I never saw the contract!!! The guy E-sign for me, which have to be illegal!!! Can anyone help me with who I can contact?




So much better!

They have made some serious improvements the last few months with their app. Before it was pretty buggy, but the last updates have fixed the issue with logging me in and out, and issues with connection. We were having issues until we updated our apps! Now it works Perfect!! Update your apps!




Horrible app

Horrible, horrible app. I have good cell service and WiFi, yet I consistently over the course of the year we have had it have issues with calls not coming thru, unable to make calls out, can answer calls but nobody can hear each other... I’ve spent 3+ hours on the phone with customer service, and they ultimately told me “meh, I dunno. I don’t blame you if you switch companies”. Never have I ever been able to send a message through JiveCommunications . The only reason I haven’t switched yet is because I invested in upgrades phones at the office and it’s such a pain and investment to switch.




Good idea, terrible execution

I don’t know how many times I’ve caught myself swearing at JiveCommunications. I don’t always receive notifications when someone is calling, when I answer an incoming call it’s a toss up if the person on the line can hear me, but most annoying is the incessant ringing!!!! Why are there two rings and one never stops even when the call has been connected. I’ve tried logging out and logging back in, deleting and redownloading JiveCommunications , talking with customer support. I’ve given up. I hate JiveCommunications. It works against my productivity when it should be adding.




Fixes have been awesome

I use JiveCommunications with my Jive service every day. I used to get logged out a bunch but now it works well. I can text from my business number and keep calls separate from personal. I love the do not disturb feature as well. I am able to automatically turn it on and off based on my location.




Love it

We are a small business and this application and phone service helps streamline communication. My only wish is that when I pick up the physical phone rather than JiveCommunications when a call is forwarded, that it wouldn’t show the call as missed on my app. Other than that it is great, works well even on 3G service.




Recent Calls not Being Logged

App is not pulling calls from server cloud PBX system but rather local phone app cache. So if JiveCommunications is not connected or online (or airplane mode, phone off etc) when a call is received/pushed to your customer extension then when you look at your recent calls, it never shows up. So as a busy business owner/traveler using this Jive app, you will not be able to count on knowing if you missed an important or critical call. Jive’s response so far is that if the caller leaves a voicemail then you will be informed...thanks for an app that halfway works. 😕




Pretty good app

I have used Ring Central and Vonage and now I am with Jive. JiveCommunications has taken some heat but compared to the last 2 apps I have used JiveCommunications works well. It seem to glitch every once in a while but the Ring Central and Vonage apps did the same thing. It’s not perfect but it works well for an app.




So much better!

JiveCommunications has a much better interface now. It does everything I need JiveCommunications to do. I can make and receive calls, text, check voicemail, etc. All of it is through the business phone number. I love it!
