Existing freedom user unable to register

I was a state bank freedom user. That App was removed and I am redirected to YonoLiteSBI. After installing , when trying to register using existing freedom user option, it gives the same error everytime : "unable to process. Please try again later ". In other words , this simply does not work. As I am not an Internet banking user (only mobile banking so far) , SBI just removed my access from a perfectly functional app to this junk app which won't even register me ! Shameful implementation

Useless for NRI

No YonoLiteSBI started asking to verify by sending SMS. For NRI outside India, it is impossible to do. Also they only allow Indian numbers. Foreign numbers does not get OTP. I can understand improved security. But this is beyond reasonable. An OTP based verification once in a while is Ok but forcing users to verify by sending SMS is an overkill. That too every time YonoLiteSBI gets reinstalled. I will be moving my account. What is the use of an account which you cannot use.

Not good at all

YonoLiteSBI makes life difficult rather than easy. I use other banking apps here in USA. In comparison YonoLiteSBI is terribly clunky, not user friendly and keeps asking me to register which I complete successfully each time. I cannot open multiple account logins with YonoLiteSBI. I keep getting an API error when I use a pin. It’s just frustrating. Overall user experience is seriously low. SBI, please recruit a proper UX designer to revamp YonoLiteSBI. If you already have UX designers then fire them and hire new competent ones. Also, your product managers don’t understand what user flow really is. You have tons of useless stuff like mPassbook where you have to get pins and stuff. Banking apps should be clean, concise and functional. All in all, a really bad app. Not recommended at all.

Such a bad product

Not sure how this banks functions. I changed my handset trying to register SMS are sent but still not getting proper reason. Just try later something went wrong. Who will say whats wrong. Went to bank those people always say for every reason same thing “server issue”. My old handset no issue. All this because of the stupid sim registration. Why sim registration while I have a valid user login with OTP enabled number.

Terrible design

I don’t think any thought has gone into the design of YonoLiteSBI or even their website. All the options are so convoluted. Even the logout option is hidden behind a weird arrow.
When I list my deposit accounts all I see are the eleven digit numbers. I have no way of telling whether the account is a RD or a FD. I have to then somehow try to remember which account number corresponds to what.
Whoever signed off on this design has absolutely no aesthetic sense and doesn’t know what a decent user interface looks like.

Unable to open the app

YonoLiteSBI doesn’t work properly for a month, it is always have a issue and now it is saying that my device is rooted. I have my iphone 15 promax and it was never rooted, but YonoLiteSBI somehow thinks that it is. Such a waste of time. I am giving the advise to the developer and the team who has worked on YonoLiteSBI, first try to understand the user requirements and build the UI to be navigable easily. You’re restricting everything from accessing their information.

Horrible app and banking experience

I have never been able to get YonoLiteSBI to work. It drowns you with captcha and OTP loop that you can never get out of. I don’t think it has been tested for any international scenarios and I am assuming it works within India at the least. There is no support or help when you get stuck. It keeps sending OTP somewhere all the time unnecessarily and will fail you all of a sudden after an hour of wasted time. It is really very sad to see SBI where I have banked for 25 years to be in this state. Reading the comments on YonoLiteSBI I think nothing has changed. On the email help line I get very rude responses and have given up on that as well. The ultimate option is to switch banks and SBI tries very hard to push its customers away. As an SBI admirer I feel very sad about its customer service and customer empathy. Very unfortunate truly.

Room for improvement

The new updates are not conducive to a user friendly app experience.
2FA is already in place and restriction of multiple user registrations is very narrow sighted and requires user to deregister and register to view details of another account.

Further mobile number based SMS sending is also not user friendly for customers that are roaming.

It works! but terribly!

YonoLiteSBI is the best example how poorly designed an app can be. It's simply the website taken and styled on a smart phone.

The setup is extremely unintuitive and you have to do 6-7 menu drill downs to get something basic done. Example: fund transfer.

Usual SBI gimmicks like logs out a user randomly with no warning. It really doesn't add anything on top of the website. Instead it is more restrictive like you can't add a beneficiary on YonoLiteSBI but you can log on to the website and add one.

And then there is that thing that server is down. 😂

For sure, there is a lot to improve. However, SBI's online presence in comparison to other Government banks is actually quite good. But, given the resources and everything, a bank of this scale should have a way more polished app

SBI is Online? No way it is completely online

How can we say SBI is online for a simple phone number update we need to fill a form and submit in the branch. How does these physical form/ATM option works for people abroad. Also, there is no option to use international number for otp.

Once you enter in to your profile zone, is it user friendly if it asks for password for every step while in profiles section.

Be user friendly with thes options and tighten the backend security instead.

Always a Struggle

Was able to login in January after struggling since November 2021. I was told that all NRIs were facing this problem.
People responsible for its design have to keep NRI users in mind.
When anything is changed the existing login information should work, at least for the fist time to be able to change, if anything needs to be changed for the modified App to work.
NRIs have to change phone numbers linked to clients depending on their visiting India or being in their country of residence. There has to be a more streamlined totally on line process to switch phone numbers from among two alternate phone numbers that the NRI registers for India and the country of their residence. Therefore, there has to be provision for two registered phone numbers, so NRI customer can choose either of these to get OTP. This feature would be most helpful.
Same for having two registered Emil’s, in case one of client’s emails gets heckled, the other can be used. Also, the option to get OTP through registered phone number or email should be there.
It has been a constant struggle when any changes to YonoLiteSBI are made or when I move back and forth between India and the country of my residence.
Please involve a real NRI user like me as a person to be involved when changes are being planned.

Poor response from customer care

I tried to call customer care number of times. Only voicemail, and unable to discuss the problems I am facing. I tried to pay the credit through net banking, I got the message that my name is not mapped in the account. It’s strange. I did the same many times. Pl focus on customer service.

Mediocre design

SBI for me has been a decent bank among the group of non-private legacy banks of India, the staff in their branches has been friendly in my experience in Goa. However YonoLiteSBI could improve the design vastly. The hit areas in the interface for touch are too closely spaced (login button for example) and then further the grouping of services and products is a little ambiguous. I don’t think YonoLiteSBI designers have followed the iOS guidelines from Apple.

Pretty good app!

Overall works stable for me but I did have big problems to initialize YonoLiteSBI but once everything got fixed it works quite predictably except for random issues like ‘We are experiencing network issues’ no matter what you click on after signing in. I normally use YonoLiteSBI to check balance primarily, fund transfer etc. I do through net banking on a laptop. I stay outside of India. Godd job and keep improving and simplifying YonoLiteSBI ...THANKS to the team...Kudos!

I know SBI is a Government undertaking and that people have low expectations. But, YonoLiteSBI has a lot of potential.
Developers- please take some inspiration from the DBS app. Alt least make the UI attractive. This new update as of March 2019 is just the change of color scheme which for me is amazing! But the UI is still old and same. Like for EasyPin screen make it “circle” or a different design rather than the boring old “number box”. You get me? Make something I can be proud of. Take a page from the UPI App. That is a decent work of art- if anything.
Hope this doesn’t fall on deaf ears.

Great App

SBI app has evolved over the years into a simple to use, feature packed and robust application. Hope they add support for facial recognition soon. Please make the upgrade process simple. Often times, that messes up the login and takes effort to get it sorted out. Great job guys!

Decent App but not great..Need some work to do

Given that YonoLiteSBI is build by sbi itself its pretty decent. SBI is not just used by people in india but huge indian NRI people are using them including myself. I expected Yono may upgrade better UI experience and also a Face ID to login to YonoLiteSBI like other international banks are doing. Our indian banks should give a good competition to those banks which are operating globally. Jai bharat.

Suggestion

The options “ Lock / Unlock User ID” and “De- Register” are so close to the numbers ( in this case 9 and 5 ) I often touch “ Lock etc “ accidentally. I suggest the lock options etc can be placed away from the key pad .

Does the job what it meant to do

I read a lot of reviews which says poor design or need rework. I am using YonoLiteSBI for couple of years. I am not saying that I am fully satisfied but still YonoLiteSBI did what it should do. There were hitches but the team behind YonoLiteSBI are trying to do the best. Instead of doing demotivating please do feedback to make it perfect. I can suggest a touchID login option. Great job Team SBI App developers.

Nice UI for day to day activities

Hi, YonoLiteSBI is great for doing almost all the activities required for a daily needs.

However, would like to give the following feedback which we would like to see on the upcoming updates:

1. Almost all the places, it shows my Account nickname while doing a transaction. And its great and easy to understand which account to use. But while selecting ‘Manage Debit Card’ under services, it shows the account number instead of the account nickname which get confused sometimes.

2. Is there a problem for integrating Touch ID or Face ID while logging in? It would be better if the user have an option to select Face ID or Easy PIN option.

3. While doing app switching, it would be better if the SBI Anywhere app can be locked and show the display page, or atleast keep it as option in setting for the user to select.
