Coach Tactic Board: Soccer Reviews

I coach girl's U10 soccer and have 7 players on the field and 4 subs. I don't understand why CoachTacticBoard always has 20 players on our substitute button.

Things I like: I uploaded photos of each player and the kids love seeing themselves as little avatars. The animation creation function is a great way to demonstrate plays and strategies.

Things I don't like (or don't understand): I want JUST 11 players; 7 on field, 4 subs, and I don't understand why the substitute function is cluttered with our 11 avatars and 9 more generic numbers. I also don't understand what's the purpose of the "hidden" players in team management. It would be great if the photo uploaded could grab photos from cloud services like Google Photos, iCloud, etc.

Purchased the full version, taking a risk, but as time passes the application makes the purchase worth every cent. Very easy to construct drills and teams for full customization, lots of areas to put your own notes for further drill instruction. CoachTacticBoard is perfect for both beginners and experienced coaches and should be a must-buy if you coach digitally!

I enjoy CoachTacticBoard thoroughly but one of my issues is that the plays that I save animations for end up getting reset with different players. I’d like to keep the players I originally put in the play there. I thought I found a work around for it but it does not work. Tired of making plays with certain players and having CoachTacticBoard change the players on the field. Please fix this! I put the players there for a reason I do not need the, changed.

Also I noticed there is no way to set a tactic for the second team that might be a nice addition.

Like the concept of CoachTacticBoard overall. Enjoy that I can make animations for ball movement, positioning etc. Can only save 2-3 before you have to pay. Animations are a bit tedious and if you make a mistake you basically have to start over.

Agree with previous reviewer. As a coach I want to be able to share plays/drills with other coaches that they can utilize in practice. Not being able to share animations with families is a big miss as well.

Generally speaking, it’s just ok and won’t break the bank for $4.99.

CoachTacticBoard is very useful in creating attacking/defending shapes, exercises, and animations.

Unfortunately, it is not possible to share the animations. This would be an EXTREMELY useful tool, especially with the youngest ages setting out in 7v7 play. If this were possible, I would insist on each family downloading CoachTacticBoard so players could study transitional shapes at home by watching their jersey move up and down the field.

I hope sharing the animation will become available in the future.

The interplay is great! Easily moves things around and the screen capture works flawlessly. My issue.......it needs an update to have the capability of sending a saved video to a friend or teammate or coach/player via text message. From a coaching standpoint, this would be ingenious because it allows the coach to visually explain with moving parts how he wants a player to behave when on the pitch. And to be able to send a text to the player without wasting time in training sessions fully explaining the said behavior.

Love CoachTacticBoard. Helps give my boys a better idea of what to do, animation is key!!!
Your share idea section is not working.

My son suggested that if the animated play finishes with scoring a goal it would be great if it showed a goal celebration, sound, confetti or something to show how the play shoukd finish. I gotta agree that was a great idea⚽️🥅

I do not coach I have a daughter that plays u8 and CoachTacticBoard has helped her no what position to be in. What formation to line up in. I have seen a huge difference she is now telling the other players where they need to be. The play maker mode is great she now understands what herd ball looks like ( when all 7 players are after the ball).

CoachTacticBoard is great for any coach, but it would be awesome if it had a practice attendance log and a season record log. It wasn't frustrating after watching the tutorial video. I have been using CoachTacticBoard for two teams for at least two years. Its a must have!

Love CoachTacticBoard. Very effective tool for creating and illustrating plays and drills.

Two main problems I have are that the shapes you pull in, like a square, can’t be adjusted for size as a whole. You can only adjust one corner at a time, so it’s hard to get perfectly straight shapes.

The other thing is it would be great to be able to edit your captured frames individually instead of just deleting and starting over with that series.

Otherwise I really like what CoachTacticBoard can do. The navigation to options are a little clunky but not bad once you use it a few times.

I love CoachTacticBoard. Very useful. I would like to ask that you add a scrolling feature to the notes. When I open my folder I can't see the full note unless I choose to edit it. It's really inconvenient. Otherwise great app! Would definitely recommend.

I love CoachTacticBoard. I tried out a few from CoachTacticBoard Store, this one was tops. I can change the number of players (3v3, 4v4, 11v11, etc.). I can draw up and animate plays as well practice drills.

I having tons of fun with my new app , especially once i unlock the Pro options , now i can do unlimited training sessions and shared with my team before we hit the fields.

Great up! Easy to use, endless possibilities when setting up any drills or tactical set plays. The training equipment is on point pretty much what is use out there, to draw and set a good session. Overall a very thought out app. Well done!👍🏽

What a helpful app I was afraid my players wouldn’t be able to see it because of all the tiny details but they could see it perfectly

I have been able to do a lot with this simple but powerful app. I paid for the full license and it has been well worth it for what I have drawn up for my teams in only 1 week.

Been using for about 2 years. Really helpful when you need to work out some lineup or tactical ideas on the go. The animation feature is pretty good too.

Provides some great tools to visually create and set up formations, drills, and set plays. It has helped a bunch with my coaching to have a visual tool to illustrate tactics.

Great coaching app, it is just what I need to formulate my game plans on the go. Also like that on my iPhone I can take screenshots and send to my other coaches so that they know what we’ll be working on for the practices.

Great way to show kids what the coach is talking about.
I wish you could edit the line drawings with out deleting all the lines.

If it had a game clock to track the time and the ability to make only the players that showed up to the game available for subs, instead of showing the whole team. I would give it a higher rating

I am a youth player, and I downloaded CoachTacticBoard to use the animation feature to learn my teams set plays. It’s very simple and helps a lot!
