Pretty good

It gets frustrating when you tap on EVERYTHING in a room for 5 minutes and it turns out you hit the thing you needed 20 times before it moved or gave it to you. The storyline needs a little beefing up. The solvability is actually at a good level. It’s not so hard, you can’t progress. It’s not so easy, you can complete it in minutes. The biggest difficulty is when it won’t move things or let you pick them up.

Horrible puzzles, unless you like tilting your device

This game was fun until I got to the puzzles that required tilting the iPad to beat the puzzle. Sometimes the puzzles were overly sensitive to any movement and others where I was shaking my iPad to get any movement. Ok, I can deal with that for a couple of puzzles, but by the middle 9f the game all the puzzles required tilting and moving the iPad to beat the puzzle. This may be a measurement of twitch skills, but it didn’t require any puzzle solving skills. I quit midway through, and in hindsight I should have quit right away. What a waste, and it was super frustrating. Unless you like tilting your iPad, then don’t waste your time. I generally like the Haiku Games, but this one is garbage. It really isn’t even worth 1 star, but I gave it 1 star because the story line seemed ok.

Buggy, cannot complete until bug fixed

I’m on the very last chapter and the apple weighing game is messed up! You’re supposed to choose the heaviest apple out of I think 10 apples after 2 times using the scale to weigh...and you need to do this 3 times in a row choosing the correct apple. Only, if you choose the wrong apple (this is a difficult mini game), the apples graphic no longer separates into 10 apples, but stays as one apple asking you to choose which apples to weight. Well, you can’t choose because it only shows 1 apple!!! To get out I have to start chapter all the way over again!!! (Which I have done 3 times!!!) or pay $5 to skip puzzle!!!! I quit. Fix the bug please. I will not pay for a messed up game:-(

Meh

The story (as far as I got) was decent and somewhat funny. Unfortunately, the hints are poor and serve as directions for the mini games, meaning the directions aren’t free (which is pretty messed up). Stars are easily found; however hints have a high and unanticipated cost. Basically, if you get stuck at any of the mini games and don’t have enough stars, you’re forced to either give up on the game or pay money for stars. I personally don’t find this game worth actual money and would have preferred to just watch ads to earn stars. The mini games were a fun and interesting addition to an escape game, and the artwork is nicely done too! It still feels like this game was purely created to farm money out of people. Worth the time but not worth the money.

No Explanations

Some reviewers have called this game easier than the other Haiku puzzle games. That’s only true if you’re very familiar with the developer’s other apps. Unlike most other Haiku apps, this one does not give the “free hint” to explain the objective of puzzles. This is frustrating because some puzzles are very easy to overthink. Usually, the solutions are much easier than an experienced puzzle solver would expect. Not to mention, you have to perform random actions like tilting or shaking your device which seems totally out of place. Also, the mini games are ridiculously hard. The boulder game is a nightmare because there is a lag and the swiping is counterintuitive. This is one of Haiku’s older apps, and it shows.

Could be a lot better

The response is terrible ... in act one, you have to tap the weights several times (sometimes 5 or 6 times) in order to even pick up the weights ... rolling the marble in act 3, also for example, if you hold the phone tilted to the right, the marble continues to roll to the left far too long even when rolling very slowly ... same goes for rolling up and down – any direction really.
Additionally, it is offered that you can skip a puzzle if you “like” the game on Facebook ... that having been done I was unable to skip the puzzle ... only other option: purchase stars! Not this time!
Developers please fix the response sensitivity and the issue of getting hint stars for more stars and a better review.

No WiFi Game

This game plays like a escape game, but it has a plot with cutscenes (hence, Adventure Escape).
Many of the puzzles can be solved with ease, but the developers leave enough difficult puzzles for you to try and figure out (the hard puzzles are usually at the end of a chapter).
You can find and collect stars to use as currency for answers, but try not to use them unless it is necessary.
The best part (of course) is you do not need any WiFi to play this game.
Haiku Games craft their apps rather well. No disappointments so far.

Terrible Mini Games Ruin It

I greatly enjoy all of this developer’s games, but this one is very disappointing. The ball mazes are extremely clunky, and the boulder dodge is the worst. Swiping sends you the opposite direction you would expect, and the delay between movements is so long that to go from one side to the other you have to do the first movement before the boulder is even past you. The game is very clunky overall, much like a low quality flash game in your browser. I’d love to see the developer revisit and rework this game to at least take some of the clunkiness out. Until then, I would suggest fans (and everyone else) just skip it.

Buggy. Freezes. And bad puzzles

I have enjoyed almost all of the other Haiku games. But this one frustrated me to no end. The program would freeze so often, I couldn’t tell if an object I touched was just background decoration, or if I had to wait a second and try again. I had to use 35 stars to skip the boulder challenge because I couldn’t swipe during the many times it froze. In addition to that, several puzzles made no sense. And I’m pretty sure one of them was actually wrong (one digit should have been “4”, but the puzzle accepted “7” instead). I would recommend ANY of the haiku puzzles before this one. Most of them are great. Sadly this one was a big miss.

Not one of my favorites

I’ve done several of these games and am making my way backwards through them. Hints are not helpful, and the mini games are harder than the actual mystery. Often, the locks are hard and no where to see where the clue is, even after looking online. There was no way to know I had to shake my iPad to get the cauldron to shake. The company has done a better job since.
I like this company and the concept. Worth doing when you are bored.

The hints aren’t good

When I got this game I thought it would be fun but I got stuck a lot so each time to get a hint I would have to go back and recomplet the previous levels and start all over on the original one I was on.
And the mini games are frustrating and to skip thoughs you have to have more stars prity much what I’m saying is the stars coust to much or make you watch a video or have the hints for 2 stars or for free
( I would expecaly like if you fixed the bugs and made it less frustrating.)

(Thank you :/ )

Simpler, yet frustrating

Love all of Haikus games, and while this one is a bit simpler in the puzzle solving department, some of the mini games are more frustrating than they are worth. The boulders in the third act were rediculous. The lag and unresponsiveness of the swiping made me spend all my stars just to skip it. The maze puzzles with the balls were almost as bad. 5 star otherwise, it would be a great game for new comers to this genre. But save your stars to skip those pesky mini games!

A good start

While the developers posted on their blog that they have stopped updating this game, I don’t feel that the mechanics are dated. Sure, there are things done better in the newer games, but that’s true for many early titles in a long series, and they’re approaching thirty titles now. (But it’s not a conventional series. There are many standalone titles, and only one true series.)

Good!

Challenging puzzles, intriguing plot, and good graphics. So I downloaded this forever ago, and replayed it recently. I found it very fun, and I loved the story line and plot, it’s very interesting. And for a game that’s more 2D, it was illustrated and worked very good!mSome of the puzzles were simple, some were harder to solve, and some outright baffled me. I very much enjoyed this, and would love to see a sequel game for it! I would definitely recommend downloading this game!

So fun!

Ok, so this game is quite old, but still very entertaining! Don’t expect great graphics or mechanics, but it’s still super fun. There are arcade type games, so if you hate those, this is not for you (or you can skip them.) The arcade games are not terribly difficult, but they do take some patience! The puzzles are fun, I especially liked the apple weighing game at the end—clever!

Best games ever!

I enjoy all of your escape adventure escape games! No one else can make them like your team does. Awesome storylines with amazing graphics and the best assortment of puzzles to keep me glued for hours. I’m just waiting patiently for updates to new games from you! I rate other games compared to you and leave reviews for them and other players to search Haiku games to see how it should be done!

Kind of frustrated with the boulders section

It feels like the game isn't responding quickly enough, in particular when you need to go quickly from the left to the right sides. Maybe arrows rather than a swiping motion? I'd much rather just have the mind games too instead of dexterity, as another reviewer mentioned. I like the game, but am super frustrated right now. The puzzles are challenging and clever, though sometime stuff is hard to read on the screen because it's super tiny. *grumble*

Fun

All Haiku games are great! This one is no exception. Once you play one Haiku Adventure Escape game, you'll find yourself downloading all of them. They're quite addictive. Only one ad in between levels which is a flash ad, not a video. Hints are free with stars which are easily earned/found. Nice way to pass time. Some puzzles are rather challenging while others are quite simple....a nice mix. Enjoy!

I like it, hate the ball games.

It’s really frustrating when the ball game came up, I personally hated it. However it’s only a tiny part of the game and I really liked the rest of it. Save up your stars to skip the ball game because I’ve been trying to do this thing for a bit but I don’t have enough little stars to actually skip it.

It’s from Haiku so it’s fun duh

I have yet to play a game from this developer that I didn’t feel was well worth the time to play it. This one is a bit more cartoonish and I guess “simpler” in design is the best way I can think to describe it. Regardless of any shortcomings though it is still quite fun and worth the download!
