Lame app. Doesn’t work. I downloaded it for a music job and it screwed me and made me look stupid. I AM stupid for downloading this dumb app.

The way this seems to work is it gives you the average tempo at any given time. The idea is: if you're tapping along to a song, it will give you a more constant, accurate reading. Traditionally, a tap tempo would only tell you the tempo between the last two taps. This averaging should work well, however..
There is a bug. Fairly often, when you do the first tap, it will think that you've tapped some very low tempo like 20bpm. This completely breaks the average and you have to tap for a long time to get even close to the correct tempo.
It would be good if they fixed this.

App is great concept in it's simplicity but appears to provide average BPM over a long series of taps. You can reset after 1 second of stopping but would be more effective if it could set average over last x taps.

TapThatTempo is mediocre. It’s always one or two bpm off of the true bpm, which is pretty amazing because the calculation of bpm is pretty simple. It seems like it depends on if TapThatTempo has been freshly opened or not. If I’ve had TapThatTempo open for a while, it’s starts giving wonky results.

I’m a producer and I love TapThatTempo. it is very useful. I use it every day although it’s not always exact it gives a great estimate of the tempo.

I love, love TapThatTempo! When I practice at home, I don’t always remember the bpm we rehearsed at during rehearsal and I invariably practice too slowly at home. With TapThatTempo, I can tap out the beat at rehearsal and make a note in my music. Then I just set the metronome and know I am practicing the speed needed for rehearsal!! This is a valuable tool for me and i’m thrilled I found it!

A good free tool to help you figure out the bpm. Will be using this to more accurately sort out my music for DJing. I still need to add in the actual values, but more accurate playlist creation!

In a world of overhyped apps built on premium currency sold to children and oil barons' heirs, TapThatTempo stands out for doing exactly what it says it will do. Thank you Norman Sander for giving us a simple tool that solved a specific problem. 🏆 I often write songs while disconnected from crap and distractions. I scribble out a song and use TapThatTempo to get the bpm out of my head and into the paper. ✌️

In determining the tempo of music, an average is what we seek, an this gives us that. Essential to my work in music for chronic pain.

Does exactly what you need and expect - very handy for logging bpm in metadata without having to refer to the original DAW-based file.

TapThatTempo is the best because it displays the average bpm of your taps and will eventually display the correct bpm of the song

I’m a audio engineer and I have primarily used pro tools for tapping the tempo out for a song. The reason why I tried TapThatTempo instead of pt is because pt is unsupported with the new OS X for Mac currently at the moment. To be honest I didn’t trust Logic Pro X tap tempo, So I downloaded TapThatTempo to figure out the tempo of a project that I’m currently working on.
I will admit that when you tap it the first time it gives you a lower BPM. So I tap my foot and go along with the beat and tap it out with app that’s the only thing I see wrong with TapThatTempo . TapThatTempo is very reliable and useful is my go to app for the most part is fairly accurate I have no issue but the glitch on the first tap beat is low. Other then that is a gem.
