GERONIMO!

The Best Source for Doctor Who News and Features

I used to subscribe to the print edition of Doctor Who Magazine. But it's in England and I'm in the U.S., and that's expensive. DoctorWhoMagazine is the perfect solution to bringing the exceptional content of this great magazine to Whovians around the world. Make sure to say OK to push notifications so you know right when the new issue is ready to download.

Great magazine. Decent app.

Worth it to have digital copy of DWM esp. since it's not available on the superior Zinio app. If dev would at least update so you can view purchased issues apart from all available issues that would go a long way to improving it. Also, If last year's Dalek bookazine was made available I'm sure I'm not the only one who would buy it on sight.
***UPDATE***
Not only is the Dalek Bookazine available now (that was fast! and I bought it like I said I would) but so is the second volume, The Companions. The third will probably be available in less than 4 weeks. Two needed improvements: 1. Sort purchased issues from all available as mentioned above. 2. Give a summary description of contents of each issue. The cover alone really is not enough to do that.
*** One more thing, once a filter for purchased issues is added it would also help to sort by different options including most recently read, order off purchase, and order released.

Especially great for Whovians in the US!

I used to wait more than a month to buy each issue of the magazine at local stores. Now, DoctorWhoMagazine makes each issue available on same day as UK release! And at a much reduced price! Buying DoctorWhoMagazine was about the smartest thing I've ever done as a fan of Doctor Who, the best show on television. But I can't give DoctorWhoMagazine a full 5-star rating because it does so little with the digital magazine format. What we get are straight reproductions of the pages of the print magazine - with zoom, obviously the most necessary tool - and that's perhaps all any Whovian needs. And the special issues are amazing in content. But I wish DoctorWhoMagazine took fuller advantage of the digital medium.

Great content, slightly wonky subscription service

Others have commented on this. Sometimes a new issue (standard, not the specials which are a separate thing) is only available as a purchase-only thing - which is not why one bothers to subscribe. I imagine it'll get fixed eventually.

The articles and stuff are as good as they ever were - and I was a subscriber to the print magazine in the early '80s. :)

Great Way to Read this Fun Magazine

I bought my iPad so that I could subscribe to DWM. It was the only way I could find to subscribe from the United States. I've thoroughly enjoyed the magazine and DoctorWhoMagazine ! It's made the purchase of my iPad completely worth it!

Formatting

Love having this digitally because it's hard to get in the US (or expensive, or late), but there's a problem. The comics (and small print in pictures, like the original script photos in the anniversary issue) are unreadable, at least on an iPhone. The comic has always been a big part of the magazine so DoctorWhoMagazine still needs work. I hope improvements can be made; maybe a higher-scan PDF of the issue is needed.

Would be great if the app actually worked

This review is specifically for DoctorWhoMagazine - not the content. Fans of DWM will appreciate the content, and if you live on the wrong side of the pond, a digital sub is a much easier way to get your DWM fix. However, even if you sub with DoctorWhoMagazine, you don't have access to your new magazines! Deleting DoctorWhoMagazine , reinstalling, and restoring purchases does nothing to solve the problem. Several other reviewers are also having this problem so it's something that needs to be addressed ASAP.

Not Readable on iPhone

I was really looking forward to getting DoctorWhoMagazine so I could finally have access to DWM, as subscribing to a print subscription is way too expensive for me.

I was VERY disappointed when I downloaded my sample copy and saw that it is not easily readable on the iPhone, even though this is supposedly the iPhone/iPad edition.

So I still won't be subscribing. Too expensive for a magazine I need to struggle to read. When you update to a view that is iPhone compatible, I will re- consider.

Subscription Link?

I already have a subscription with DWM. I down loaded DoctorWhoMagazine because I thought it would make my subscription more mobile. Plus my current issue was sent to the wrong address, so I thought maybe I could use DoctorWhoMagazine instead of buying a new copy. Instead I'm asked to buy of subscribe with no option to access my current account. Is there no way to link my subscription to DoctorWhoMagazine ?

Wish magazines were easier to navigate.

I like the digital access to the magazine, but DoctorWhoMagazine is hardly intuitive. I wish they'd take a hint from Comixology, making purchases more intuitive, and allowing navigation between pages with a tap on one side of the screen instead of a full swipe.

The Best Magazine

This is my favorite magazine, and I'm really glad that I can get a digital version. My only complaint is that the archive doesn't go far back enough. I would like to be able to buy older magazines.

Great quality, great magazine...

I've loved Doctor Who Magazine for years, and this electronic version is perfect. It has super high quality scans that look wonderful on my iPad Pro.

Keep up the good work.

Needs work

When I saw that Doctor Who magazine was finally available to itunes I jumped for joy. Long overdue! However, after I downloaded my first issue I was disheartened to find it a terrible copy. Most of the smaller print and the comics is completely unreadable! They need to fix and create clearer text as the comic is half the fun.

Great mag, terrible app

Love DWM, but DoctorWhoMagazine, like all magazine apps for iOS, is terrible. All I want is to be able to read the cover and table of contents to decide if I want to purchase the magazine. Unfortunately you can not scale the view and the text is too small. Apple needs to fix this ASAP. Forget a new iPad and FIX DoctorWhoMagazine!

DWM is THE Go-To for Superb DW Info

The magazine in digital format has an excellent layout, good scope of content and always has something to delight both Classic and NuWho fans.

I look forward to it arriving each month!

Easy to use and fun.

This is an easy to use, easy to navigate app that makes material available earlier than I can find it on the newsstand. What's not to like?

Wonderful app!!

So much fun to have the issues handy as soon as they're out ! Wonderful magazine!!

Great with a glitch

It would be great if issues I've downloaded didn't keep disappearing from my iPad, causing me to have to waste time re-downloading them.

Is it really yours?

I would have preferred this over hardcopy except for one critical detail: you cannot read it offline. The purpose of of this was to get in some reading during my commute underground. This is why I switched from a Nexus to iPad and I'm back to this nonsense. Probably the first & last issue I buy for now.
