There appears to be issues with decoding metadata. On at least three streams I looked at/listened to, the artist/title info displayed 文字化け (mojibake meaning garbage). I couldn’t tell just from looking if it was because of the data being in SJIS instead of UTF8, but it should probably be looked at.
It’s almost the best Asian radio app, But the lack of having to favorite stations and putting them on same category is irritating and often some stations disrupt playing.
In all said , great app.
Great music, many stations! I like the station “Friends Forever” the best. When I hear a Japanese band that I like I look them up and I make many new discoveries. Very upbeat. It reminds me of when American radio had new types of music and was worth listening to.
I’ve been studying Japanese for a month now and I like listening to Japanese music while I do. This radio app is すばらしい!
A wonderfully simplistic free app that lets you listen to tons of stations! Definitely the best app I’ve seen so far.
Such a helpful resource for listening to a Japanese popular music and more!

I’m a big fan of Japanese music and after finding JapanRadio I can now listen to it more often
It’s simple and does the intended job well. Definitely recommend!
As someone who wanted to expand their music taste, downloading JapanRadio helped me come across different genres of Japanese music
I'm learning Japan so being able to listen to songs to help learn is very useful.
I’ve been trying to look for a radio to listen to, but none of them did any good for me. Then JapanRadio came along and it seems to be doing great for me. If your an anime weeb or you like to listen to Japanese non anime music, then this might be JapanRadio for you! Try it out! 😉👍
As soon as JapanRadio closes the music strops … no way to keep app open or to flag this for developers
Great music selection served by detail oriented people. The quality of sound is great and With sakura radio you will be traveling in time machine as well as discover nice Japanese music.
It’s not bad at all, I mean there could be more variety in my opinion but other than that I like it.
I loved this so much! I've tried so many radio station apps, but this one beats them all! Incredible songs! Very modern, yet traditional songs too! A must download for Jpop/Jrock/anime song lovers!
Found JapanRadio by accident, so glad I did, hope this is the beginning of a long relationship
Does what JapanRadio says it will do. That is to say that you can listen to Japanese music for free whenever and wherever, assuming you have signal. Best thing about it is that you can minimize JapanRadio and still listen to the audio.
I hope it never goes away

A: When songs are skipping, it is often because 1) that station's server has recently been reset or 2) the internet isn't filling the audio buffer fast enough.
Usually these issues are resolved with faster internet, changing to a new station, or they resolve on their own after the server resets.
There are several online directories where you can find the stations featured in the app.
A: Each of the stations are run independently and have their own online presence.
A: Some of these stations are controlled by real DJs and if they aren't playing anything at the time or their site is down no music will play.
