If you download this version of potato you can only join links created on the tato talk, if someone uses the original potato and sends you a link it will just tell you to install the original app which you can’t anymore instead of using the tato talk

When I log in with my email from old potato, (email which has a . In it) (it takes the . Out and logs me into a new account) (while still sending the login code to the correct email but in settings the . Isint there)
it gives me an entire new account, instead of loading my already made account up.
But yet already knows my “name” I signed up with. No Chats/ channels/ no profile pic, and the username I had is still attached to the “old account” and everything is cleared.
But it had the name, I can text my old account on the old app from the new app. But can’t get my old account logged into the new app. I want my account to transfer over like how it’s supposed to. Soooo can we Fix This?
I love potato, it gives people a real space to speak freely, share their thoughts, and connect without feeling restricted. It’s simple, open, and driven by real voices. It’s truly a great treasure for freedom of speech.
TatoTalk is heading in a strong direction, but it still needs features that could attract way more users and drive monetization. A username marketplace would be huge—people are already interested in rare usernames, there just isn’t a proper system for buying, selling, or valuing them. That alone could create a whole economy inside TatoTalk .
A gift shop would also be a big upgrade. Let users send paid gifts, badges, or collectibles to each other—this builds engagement and gives users a reason to spend money while making TatoTalk more social.
On top of that, TatoTalk needs a real social media presence. Platforms like Instagram, TikTok, and X would bring in new users and create hype around features like usernames and digital items.
The demand is already there, it just needs the right systems in place.
