So after a recent update on iScrap , I was unable to get past the opening tutorial on iScrap . When I contacted this app about it, they had me send them screenshots of what I was seeing. They basically blamed my phone service saying I was roaming when there was a clearly visible WiFi service signal on the screenshot. I feel they were just making excuses and blaming it on the phone when it was obviously a problem with iScrap they they didn’t feel like fixing. I deleted iScrap .

I really liked iScrap. Cool idea pulling metal rates and having others report theirs. Now it’s just an ad. Everything you do gets an ad. Don’t download it unless you like watching endless ads.

1) iScrap shows me pins where there are scrap locations. Big deal! It won't show prices which is what I wanted. Worse than that,
2) the developer is a greedy jerk. For an app like this to be user-friendly, it needs to use the phone's current location so the user doesn't have to force it in. Even though a developer has the choice to let the user allow location access only when using iScrap , this developer makes the user choose between NEVER or ALWAYS sharing the phone's location. The only reason the developer has to continuously monitor and log the phone's locations when iScrap is NOT being used is to SELL that information to others.
3) When iScrap gives me the choice to share my location only when iScrap is in use and provides price data I will use it.

Downloaded, then hit an ad at every turn. Nope! Promptly deleted.

iScrap will waste your time, incorrect prices and the yards that have prices on it will tell you not to use it if you are trying to get today’s price. Why would they even say that?? Because the prices aren’t up to date!

Don't agree? Try using the favorites feature and let me know how it works bc idk.

App I about to be deleted because every time you click something now you get an ad popping up unlike how it used to be it was a good app but not anymore :(

As many others have said, it is good for finding local scrapyards, but it is very difficult to input anything, and you are constantly bombarded with ads. iScrap has crashed on me several times when trying to enter prices for my local yard.

It’s okay to find yards but other than that that’s about it. I use to be able to update prices and all and see more prices but now it keeps telling me that it is inconsistent with other prices. I have a receipt of what I got and how much it is. Wether it’s inconsistent or not that is what the price was.

Would be a great app if adds didn’t pop up every time when trying to get information and putting information into iScrap very very annoying and a waste of time

Great app to locate scrap yards, horrible app when it comes to pricing materials. Almost all of the prices are way off outdated or just not even there.

iScrap is a great idea but it won’t let you upload accurate prices. For instance they have heavy metal for $240 a ton but most yards won’t pay anymore than $180 a ton for it.

Currently iScrap is good for locations where you can take your scrap to. Pricing is outdated but when I checked a month ago it was somewhat close.
What would make this a 5 star app is to allow users to enter the price they got from their scrap. Just like Gas Buddy does. Maybe even reward the users too for taking the time to enter their prices they got. Every scrap yard will have their own pricing so pricing here is just a guess. Let the people here make it a 5 star app.

Scrap yard "A" near my home still has 2014 prices posted 2 years later, even after software updates, scrap yard "B" also near my home only updates prices once a month, not totally this app's fault, but there's times when I touch on yard "A" to check for price updates then go to yard "B" to check prices and iScrap automatically goes back to yard "A's" prices and sticks there. Any way this app could get their yards to update prices weekly? Both yards websites defer pricing to this app. Pointless to have iScrap if I still have to call the yards regularly.

Great idea! Who doesn’t like an ad for quick books or another useless service. Maybe offer a one time fee to get rid of the ads for people like myself?

I brought a complaint and offered a solution.

It’s a good app, but when I look at the prices for my scrapyard, I have no clue how current the prices posted are.

Wish there were more videos but I love iScrap

We need more input from scrappers and scrap yards on iScrap it’s up to the individual who decides to post what the current price is and some scrap yards should post what there paying and why you should go to them

I recommend it to people who want to see scrap prices and to see scrap yards near them.
