Read 21 Customer Service Reviews 😠💢

4.2 out of 5
Automatic Subscription

Everything about the book is super basic with basically no customization and I was disappointed but figured I had wasted money on dumber things. Then I got charged $54 for a subscription. There is absolutely nothing that says you are signing up for a recurring subscription. After filing a dispute through PayPal they agreed to refund $45 of the $54 charge. It’s a really sketchy business practice to automatically subscribe people without any indication that it’s a subscription service.

An actual scam!! Do not purchase

RaisingDog is a complete scam and their customer service is worse. I was not made aware that I was being charged for a subscription, which is $54 btw, and refused to refund my money despite the fact that I do not even use the subscription, or RaisingDog even. There are so many cheaper apps, and not only that but you have no way of cancelling or even viewing said subscription to see when it will be charging you.

Don’t fall prey to this deceptive company

So over a year ago I bought their book. Got the product, good to go. Then fast forward a year I get a charge for $57 from these guys for their worthless and overpriced “subscription service”. I Never once signed up for a subscription from them. So I sent an email to request a refund and cancel their service (which is the ONLY way to cancel) and here is their response:
“Hello,

Thank you for your message. I am deeply sorry to hear that you are dissatisfied with our product.

Unfortunately, all sales of digital products are final and non-refundable unless the product failed to be delivered due to a technical fault on our end.

Since the item was correctly delivered, we are unable to issue you a refund.”

Obviously, this is a company that preys on people to squeeze money out of them for a service they’ll never use and instead of being an honest company that issues a refund to a product clearly not being used, they kindly tell you to go f yourself. Don’t trust or give any money to this garbage company.

Recurring subscription? Zero notification and no support

RaisingDog itself is fine I agreed to a one time purchase however this company not only charged me a recurring subscription fee but has no way to cancel or show that it is recurring they just charge your card. I asked for a refund and to cancel whatever they believe is recurring as I have no way to find this on RaisingDog , on their website or any email. Very poor company and sadly taking advantage of people - do NOT buy RaisingDog without knowing they will auto charge you without any way to find out what your actual signup is for (no emails no login and nothing on RaisingDog itself about fees or recurring payments or even a way to cancel!)

THIEVES

You THINK you are paying a one time fee for RaisingDog but it’s REALLY a subscription that renews every 3 months. A subscription that you were unaware you were enrolled in and are unable to cancel without emailing the company 48 hours before your renewal date. And how are you supposed to know that date when you didn’t know you even had the subscription? Who knows? And they don’t care. And they have a strict no refunds policy.

They charged me the first time back in March. At which point I promptly cancelled-and have the email to prove it. But then they went ahead and charged me again for my CANCELLED subscription in June. And STILL won’t refund my money! Shady, shady, shady. DON’T DO BUSINESS WITH THEM.

Don’t fall for it

When you purchase the “book” it auto signs you up for a 3 month renewing subscription. There’s no portal where this subscription is visible or where you can manage it yourself. You must email their customer service to cancel it - I am still waiting to hear back.

RaisingDog looks decent, but this is deceptive and does not follow apples guidelines- but they’re sneaky about it by doing it through the browser.

Beware of the App scam

Multiple reviews are warning you of their nefarious business practices! The book is a nice product but they bundle it with a free app that you don’t realize is a renewing subscription. They don’t send receipts for purchases. There is no where on RaisingDog the shows the subscription, no reminder prior to renewal, and they don’t even send a receipt after they charge you. Just have to see a random charge on your card. All of this basically makes it impossible to dispute the charge. Save yourself the headache and skip the purchase!

Undisclosed Subscription fee after downloading

While the book was cute and marginally helpful, this review is based solely on RaisingDog . I was unaware that RaisingDog would charge a recurring subscription fee of $54 every 3 months. It has been a nightmare to try to cancel. I wished I did my research earlier to see other users’ experiences before downloading RaisingDog . I would strongly recommend staying away from RaisingDog unless you are joyfully inclined to pay an exorbitant subscription fee for an unhelpful app. If anything, just order the book and only the book.

Garbage

App just repeats the same information from the book, which is trash in the first place. It reads to me as if it is almost entirely AI-generated, with lots of irrelevant or redundant information. In NO way tailored to me or my dog beyond getting to choose the color and putting our names on it. Emailed the company and offered to return my book for a refund because I am so disgusted that I paid $79 for it, but of course they refused. Very poor business practices, nonexistent customer service, I hope others can avoid getting suckered into this nonsense.

Scam

The book they sell you is clearly written by AI or a language translator based on the repeating sentences and typos. It provides general training guidance, all of which you can search for yourself online for free. If you buy the book and app access they charge you a hidden monthly fee of $54 with no confirmation or ability to see you’re locked into a subscription. I disputed the charge as fraud and got my money back from my bank, but be careful with this company.

subscription service attached to the book was not made evident.

I had a $54 charge appear unexpectedly on my credit card. I did order and receive the book but had no notification from them that this was a subscription service. They need to make this obvious when ordering so you can make an informed decision on whether to buy or not.
I am requesting a cancellation of this subscription and a refund for charge. Be aware that they charge fee this $54 quarterly.

Auto Renew without Consent

So I like most people got bombarded with the ads for this book and as a new puppy parent, I thought sure, why not. BIG MISTAKE. Apparently when I purchased the book, it signed me up for auto renewing the subscription to RaisingDog . Which you cannot cancel unless you email them in advanced. However, if you don’t even know that you signed up for an annual subscription… well, it looks like you’re out $54… more if you don’t cancel it immediately

Useless - If you ordered the book

Be cautious - if you like using the book you ordered, RaisingDog is redundant and useless. Sure you can track progress with RaisingDog but if you ordered the book and RaisingDog was supplementary to the book, it doesn’t offer anything new compared to the book. Very deceptive.

Also, they don’t give you the option to cancel subscription through RaisingDog and they won’t issue you a refund even if you don’t use it.

Sketchy

If you buy they book they almost force you into a subscription, then never send emails or reminders of this subscription, or renewal time frames or process. If you look throughout the entire app there isn’t a way to unenroll in the subscription, you have to send an email in 2024. Just wild. Asked for a refund, as all other subscription are forth coming of renewal dates prices etc, and they refused. Terrible business model. I do not recommend.

Okay App, Okay Book, Not so good T&C’s

Overall the product is pretty good. However the subscription model and terms and conditions (T&Cs) are very shady. There is no way to view and manage your subscription. You’ll find out you are still subscribed after another $54 charge on your credit card. There is no way to view if you are subscribed or not. Once you realize the credit card charge, it’s too late. You will have to email customer service to request cancellation. They will take 7 days to respond and they will defer to their Terms and Conditions once you request a refund. I would steer clear of RaisingDog and just go with the book. Good luck.

Not personalized

I cannot rate RaisingDog yet or the quality of the content but what I will say is that I purchased the book-app bundle for a cyber Monday sale and am under the impression that the personalization quiz is simply a marketing tactic to make the material sound more appealing… it sounded appealing to me, at least, compared to other programs I have come across. Anyway, I feel misled because I have no reason to believe that the book is personalized to me and my pup, aside from our names on the title page, because the content inside includes everything, including things that I indicated in the quiz that were irrelevant to us. So, I’m disappointed that I fell for that marketing scheme, but am hopeful that it will be helpful information anyway (and hopefully goes beyond what is common training knowledge) and that I get my moneys worth out of the bundle. I do think it’ll be fun and helpful to document my pup’s daily details of progress and such, helpful in staying accountable and proactive.

A Lifesaver for a Busy Single Parent

As a 37-year-old nurse from Michigan juggling a demanding job and the responsibilities of being a divorced parent to three energetic kids, finding time to train my new puppy was looking near to impossible. That was until I stumbled upon Charlie. RaisingDog has been a game-changer for my chaotic routine.

The user-friendly interface was easy to navigate, which is perfect for someone like me who isn’t very tech-savvy. The lessons are structured in a way that allowed me to squeeze in training sessions during my short breaks or while waiting for my kids at their activities. The video tutorials are clear, concise, and professional, making the training process straightforward and enjoyable both for me and my furry companion.

What I appreciate the most is the progress tracking feature which allowed me to monitor my pup’s improvement over time. This was encouraging and kept me motivated to stick with the training amidst my hectic schedule. Also, being able to connect with a community of other dog owners through RaisingDog provided a sense of support and shared experiences which I found invaluable.

Moreover, the customer support was prompt and courteous whenever I had questions or needed assistance. RaisingDog also offered a variety of training programs which catered to different behavioral issues and obedience training, making it a versatile tool for dog owners at

Informative

Only have been using Raising Dog App for a short time, from what I have seen so far is that it has a lot of information even narrowing it down to specific breed. I am excited to explore RaisingDog further to learn new things to teach my dog.

Helped with obedience training

My dog Lulu used to jump up on everyone who walked through the door, which was really embarrassing. The book’s advice of ignoring the behavior and only rewarding calm greetings actually paid off, RaisingDog helped with actually putting it to practice, we couldn't have learned it without RaisingDog . It took some time, but now she waits patiently for people to pet her. Such a relief, wow

Keeps me on track

If you’re committed to training your dog, it is extremely useful. It’s keeps your motivated and accountable. I would recommend to any getting a puppy any time soon!

It's a scam. Cute book on the outside. Nothing new on the inside. Then you get charged every month. FOR WHAT??? Don't fall for it like I did.
