Too many Ads!!

I love this game. It’s a great little game that I don’t need to think to play. I am ready to delete it however. There are just too many ads. I would be happy to pay and get rid of the ads completely. Make this an option and I will be back. It’s so frustrating. And this applies to all of the mobility ware apps. I’m deleting four of them right now. All games that I play daily.

Love crazy eights but too many ads

Good game but there’s an ad after every single round? C’mon guys. I have gotten to the point where I just force close after every round now. There’s still the interruption of game play but it takes 3 seconds to get back to the game after force closing and I don’t have to watch any ads at all. Nowadays I see ads are creeping up in time and there is no such thing as a skippable 5 second ad anymore so this way works great for me. I am also quite frustrated because I contacted support several times about the tips and tricks message in front of every game flashing by in a millisecond with no time to actually read the dang tip or trick. When support does respond it’s to tell me they will forward it to the developers. This is on every single mobilityware game that I play but not on any other games I play. The game also does seem slanted in that I can only win 1 game out of 5 or 6. Maybe it is just luck of the cards but you really can’t play this game incorrectly. I seem to always get stuck with high scoring cards while opponents are able to go out. For all these reasons I’ve given 3 stars. I almost gave just 2 stars but what the heck.

It was fun while it was fun

I had this game for about a week and I REALLY wanted to love it. I had never played Crazy 8 before but I learned the gameplay pretty quickly and got into it. But after a week, it has started doing that thing that games do: cheating. Or stacking the deck, so to speak. I tested a theory. Every time I was dealt a hand, I’d receive 2 color suits, MAYBE 3. The starting color would be one that was in my hand in abundance, along with SKIPS and REVERSES and DRAW 2’s. But it never fails, by the time it gets to be my turn, the the color is “unexpectedly” changed to one of the colors I DON’T have in my hand, prompting me to draw a card.

When I draw, the card I pull is NEVER the color of the round in play, but if ANY other players choose a card, it’s almost always the right color, or a wild card to change the color.

Either it’s built to intentionally anger you or the algorithm is WAY off. I deleted. I enjoy the game Crazy 8 now and appreciate learning how to play via CrazyEights. But now I’ll be looking for another C8 app that perhaps has more balanced gameplay.

It’s CHEATS really BAD

You are actually playing against three computer simulators it is however an interesting game. But you hardly ever get the deuces or eights in the opening deal. At times you are still holding all your dealt cards while the other three have a card or two or you are dealt all the same suit with one eight all the others seem to play around you. This is one review they will not post the developers with dealing the cards need to be fair it’s way out of line you are playing three computer hands and most of the time the game knows the cards you are holding. Fix this please otherwise great game

No longer fun

After you reach a certain level it’s really hard to win. The hands get more aggravating because even though you have the deuce advantage, you never get to put down a card because you are constantly bypassed or when you do get a chance to play, a suit is laid down that you don’t have. Definitely no where near the fun it used to be playing this game. VERY DISAPPOINTING.

Too many ads, not live play

I get the ads for a free game, I really do, however, this game is the worst of most of Mobilityware’s games. And I know I’m not playing real people but I’m in the top tier and number 2. The number 1 dude always has an unfair advantage and when I’m not playing his points still keep going up. The game has become frustrating.

Not Challenging Whatsoever

It’s a nice app. I like the developers and their style. But this game has literally NO challenge! It has hints that you can’t turn off, and if you have a card in your hand that you can play you have to play it. You know how in Uno you save all the draw 2 cards and wilds till the end of the game so you can finish easy? Yeah, no. You MUST play the cards. The draw pile shakes its head vigorously if you even so much as think about drawing when you have a card you *could* play.
I also found a bug (that I’m quite fond of actually) where if you get a +2 card passed to you on your turn, you can tap the +2 card in the discard pile and continue the +2 chain. The only problem is that the game completely crashes after you hit +8 and the game will not progress. You have to start a new game. It’s quite frustrating because I like the bug but it can backfire, especially if I have a good hand and continue the chain.
Also I feel like an ad after *every single game* is a bit excessive. I do appreciate the ability to turn off sounds though.
If some of these issues were to be fixed I would gladly bump to 5 stars. But until I gain the ability to end a round above +200, I will not. I want to be able to lose significantly!

You’re playing against computers, not people

I played this game 1 million times. If you leave the game, you come back and you’re in the same place with the same players so it’s rigged. And after you’ve played it 1 million times you see a pattern to the cards. It’s not as random as you think it is, it would be much more fun if you were playing against real people

Ads

These developers usually make such great games. I play their Mahjong & another solitaire & enjoy both of them. I figured I’d try Crazy 8 as well. Ease to play: very good once one figures out which set of rules they’re playing by! 😄 (So many variations we learned to play at home.)
Computer or Real Opponents: not sure but definitely had me muttering occasionally!
And now the ads… I understand these are free games & you have overhead & expenses but ads (which occasionally freeze up by the way) after EVERY round is a bit much. I know this is only my opinion but when a round takes under 2 minutes to play? Really? You could be a bit more fair, guys.

Had fun while it lasted but I burned the game tonight. Good Luck & keep developing!

What is the highest level?

I like this game but as soon as I start getting close to the top of the leader board, the game will not open on my iPad. I’ve tried to open CrazyEights at least 15 times in the last week and it will not open. It’s done this before and I had to delete CrazyEights and reinstall it. Once reinstalled it works great but you have to start at the beginning again.

too many ads

Like many people I don’t often write reviews, but I have to get this off my chest. I really like this game and play it for many hours at a time, but the non-stop ads spoil it and sometimes I even forget if I am winning or losing. I would much much rather pay for CrazyEights and then be able to really enjoy it!
I also believe that the game is “rigged” in the computers favot.

Computer play

I can only assume the first comment is correct about us playing with computers. I have done the same when I’ve had to put my phone down and instead of loosing the game I still have a chance to win. I don’t entirely hate it but I do miss winning or losing against actual people. But the game is really fun! Try for yourself and see!

Suggestions:

Please slow down the progress of play by the other players around the table. The Zip-Zip-Zam portraying the play of the other players is much to fast to follow.

Also: please do away with the automatic hints about what my player should do on my turns. Where is the challenge if my hand is effectually being played by CrazyEights ?

The 8 card

Please explain why an opposing player has the eight card in their hand and doesn’t go out on their turn. They draw and then they go out with two 8 cards.
They could’ve just gone out with the first 8 card. Is there something wrong with the algorithm?

Enjoy this game

The graphics are fun, I wish the player has a little more control in the game, and play with my own strategies. For example, I would like to draw at will and save my eight for the last card instead of being forced to use it when I don’t have the color in the discard pile. Also, I would like the option to save my 2 for the same purpose. Also, I am so over emojis, life without them would be so nice. Other than a loss of control over my game, this one is fun.

5/5 stars

Love this game! It’s so addictive and I can’t stop playing! I can’t really think of a bad thing to say except for there are a little too many adds for my liking but I’m very picky about adds. Over all this is definitely my favorite game and I really love it!

I didn’t think I would like this card game, but I was wrong!

I really enjoy this game. If you like the card game UNO, you will like CrazyEights. It fast moving and never dull. I think it would be great for kids and old folks, like me. Give it a try!

Addictive fun!

I remember playing this game in pre-school. Though, it was more about the 8 of hearts for me.

This is a quick paced game against three other players and sometimes it gets heated with those +2 and A= lol no chat but you can tell by the emojis that fly up :)

Great nostalgic game!

Ads are a drag

I love the speed and simplicity of this game, but I’m going to have to delete it due to ads - I’d pay a small fee to get rid of them, as I do for games I really enjoy and play, but it isn’t an option and I’m done.

Choose live opponents

I would really like to be able to choose at least one live opponent. My husband and I play and would love to play against each other lol
