Love the concept, changes still needed

Love the concept and got a fair number of people playing. Downloaded the newest version with more accuracy (miss the cozy coffee cup icon), doesn’t fix the problems. I dont mind there’s some drift in the shot -IF- I get to have a sense of how. Wind direction flags in other golf games at least inform me how it’ll drift, so I have a chance of compensating, instead of it being a complete and arbitrary surprise each shot. I cant adjust my shot to get more accurate each time. Not fun to be not informed. // This pairs poorly with extreme bounce in your only long distance shot having tremendous bounce on tiny platforms and islands. Other golf games have a topspin/backspin to control bounce, if the goal is to make you land on a smaller/more accurate platform. Everyone ive shared it with complains about endless water shots resetting your position, with little to be done about it. // Give us some sense of how the ball will drift so we have a chance to adjust and plan our shot, and give us a way to control the bounce distance if the intention is to have lots of small platforms but only 3 clubs. I’d have no real complaints after that. Golf is fun for precision and planning, and the -unpredictable- drift and limited bounce control take away from that. Everyone ive shared it with voiced the same problems with it - wanting to get better at controlling their shot but having no ability to improve.

Great concept but unsatisfying game play

The other day me and one of my friends stumbled upon this game while something to play together. The daily aspect instantly captured us and for the last week or so we have been playing and sharing our scores with each other religiously. It was until now that I realized the random nature that the driver and the wedge rely on. I understand what the game is going for but this makes the gameplay feel unrewarding for being good at the gameplay. I feel like there are other ways the mechanics could be laid out to make the gameplay feel more fun and less random. But overall I love playing your game and I am excited to see where it goes.

By

Fun but needs fine tuning

The game is overall great. Fun concept, fun gameplay on paper but actually somewhat aggravating. I think some tweaks are needed.

1. Shot randomness is too variable and can make your ball wildly unpredictable, turning this game away from a skill-based game. Changing to a meter for shot accuracy would be better and allow for more skill-based gameplay

2. The maps are frustrating. Why is there so much water? I feel like an occasional pond or lake would be nice, but tiny aggravating islands makes for frustrating gameplay

3. The driver controls / indicator is misleading and frustrating to use, especially with the larger bodies of water. The ball bounces WILDLY, and I’m assuming the ball is going to land and stay within the pictured circle when it almost always does not, often landing in the water. I fully understand that the circle is just where the ball “could” land (randomness factor) but my brain doesn’t work that way. I then have to either greatly undershoot where I want the ball to end up or try to bounce the ball off something like a or a ridge. If there is a large body of water to cross (item #2 above), it makes me almost fully reliant on the lilly pads that spawn in after landing in the water, which is no fun. I should be able to make those shots without going into the water. I think if you fix item #2 above, it could lead to this point being almost fully resolved.

Fun, but has a serious problem

This game very enjoyable and addicting. But it was one MAJOR issue. The ball randomness. Either make it where the severity of how random the trajectory of ball is based on the skill of a player or just make it known with a little wind mph icon somewhere on the screen. Because if I messing up and it’s something I can control, then fine, it’s on me to figure out how to fix it and then apply. But if you’re just randomly penalizing players for no apparent reason then it just pushes away players who want to actually become skilled at the game. I understand not everyone wants to go try-hard on a game that is meant to be relaxing, but you have a leaderboard. The whole point of a leaderboard is to encourage competition and the improvement of players at your game. And as of right now, there is only a certain limit ampler can reach on how they can get because there is this randomness that they can’t predict or control. Fix this and this game will be big.

Fun Concept, Needs Some Tweaks

Coffee Golf is intended to be a simple, stripped down, quick play game. It isn’t intended to compete with the complex, high skill golf games. That being said, Coffee Golf would benefit from a little more complexity than it currently has. Just three clubs: drive, pitch, putt, with no real ball control, and ball flight variation is determined by a probability curve. Efficient but a little unsatisfying.
Plenty of reviewers have offered suggestions on how the game could give the player more control, so I would get into details, but I will say that SOME additional ball control and/or information would make the game more enjoyable without taking away from its charming simplicity.
I would also appreciate having access to my entire game history - at least my past round scores and maybe overall stats.
Fun game. Keep making it even better.

Simple game with a quick learning curve

I cant attest to other players' experience with shot "randomness". I do, however, think that the start of the course should always be oriented toward a pin, though. Day 29 was oriented backwards on start, which was a little weird. If I've selected a club, zoom in, and switch clubs, don't zoom me back out. A few subtle eggs in the game might add some fun to it too. Example, if I hit a tree, some birds might fly out of it; or if I hit a water hazard a few consecutive times, a frog might hop across the lilly pads. If I make the top N% for the day, the ribbon/badge might need some explanation. Last, can I ever see/replay a previous course?

Edit: Collision detection for the pin is a little goofed. On rare occasion, the pin will rise at the time the ball is on an arc, and may abruptly stop in the air--completing its bounces, but stopping any advancement.

Great game that has unharnessed potential

I love the game and its concept. It is very simple and that is enjoyable. I think one thing that could greatly improve the game is a daily leaderboard and maybe an all time leaderboard. This could be used to give the players more incentive to play everyday. Also in the future a currency could be added and leaderboard placement could effect how much currency could be made from a player that day. Maybe weekly course and things like that could be added but I understand it is hard to add all of this stuff. Great game.

Solid game but shot randomness is a problem

I’ve been playing this game for about a week and love it. The game design is beautiful and I enjoy the simplicity of it. It’s what drew me to this game in the first place. My only complaint is the shot randomness especially with my driver. With so much water it’s very easy to hit your ball in the water with your driver due to just the randomness of it. Since there is a leaderboard (WHICH I LOVE!) I think that the randomness should be less on the shot to where I can control it. Other than that you have a beautiful game and a even better concept. The shot randomization and me not being able to control it is just frustrating especially when going for the leaderboard.

By

Could be great

The concept of the game is amazing. A simple 5 hole battle each day. After that it gets dicey. You have to use the same 3 clubs over and over with a massive circle as your possible destination. The circle for the driver is bigger than 2 greens so only god knows where your ball will land. The wedge goes no where and is as accurate as the driver. The putter is the worst. Absolutely no power indicator, and you can’t even see your line through trees so your shooting from a side view, good luck with that. “Trees” are floating green rocks. Hit one and you could literally ricochet to the opposite side of the course. If you fall under one, you have to putt out from under it…. How asinine could this game be? Fix all this and maybe I’ll play the game again.

By

Small Suggestion

The accuracy buff that was released last week is great and was definitely needed, though it can be fairly annoying on water based maps sometimes. My suggestion is to increase the “horizontal” accuracy meaning that the ball is less likely to fly off to the left or to the right into a tree/water. The “vertical” accuracy is fine and I don’t have any issues with it.

Another suggestion I have is to make the holes slightly visible through trees similarly to how the shot line is.

By

Fun Game, Changes Needed

I feel like the randomness of each hit is a little annoying after awhile. The game becomes less skill based and more “oh man I hope this ball doesn’t completely go the wrong way” this also makes it near impossible to get a hole in one, or even in two sometimes because you have to get lucky twice in a row. Maybe a meter that you have to time would be better, and would add some more skill and thinking into the game rather than the randomness of the circle.

By

Love it, it's a new ritual!

Couple suggestions: 1. The bounce off sides of hills is a bit ridiculous; I once drove the ball and it bounced off the hill and came back so far it ended behind my original tee!

2. Since putting is 100% accurate, maybe give the greens a slope so there's something to think about.

Thank you! Love the game.

Garbage

You get to play one time per day. There is only one course. Each day the course changes slightly, but it’s always roughly the same setup. The controls are some of the worst I’ve experienced in many years of mobile app gaming. There’s no telling where your ball will go or whether it will hit one of the many trees. Not only is that unpredictable, there’s no way to improve your game. Whether your big, sloppy shot hits a tree or not will always be 50/50. I wish I could give this 0 stars. Don’t waste your time. The developers should be ashamed of themselves for being so unbelievably lazy and greedy. People like this are ruining mobile gaming. Shame, shame, shame.

By

Awesome game; hoping for varying course designs!

After my first day, I can safely say I love the concept and the game. I am just hoping going forward that there will be enough unique course elements and designs that keep me coming back and preventing the game from getting stale. Im not too worried for the moment, however.
Overall 5 stars.

By

perfect golf game

i think this is probably the best golf game i've ever played the maps are small but different and the lily pad when you fall into the water is great. the only problem is that you can hit the ball to where you want to go the randomness of each shot is crazy i cant tell you how many times i aimed the driver to bounce off a tree just for the ball to go way the wrong way into water like i understand a little randomness with each shot but its like im kicking the golf ball every time it makes hole in 1 virtually impossible unless you get lucky

By

Consistency is key

The idea of the game is great, wake up and start your day with a “relaxing” round of golf while drinking your coffee. But the inconsistency of the shooting in this game is just maddening. You guys say you’ve fine tuned the shot and that it should feel better now, but it’s still pretty ridiculous. Without having a consistent shot it’s not relaxing, and it’s not the way most people want to start their day.

By

Fun!

I enjoy it and like the daily challenge. I don’t mind random shots.

I would like to see my score. If I log on again and try the course again in the same day, what did I shoot earlier? Can we have a scorecard that stores the scores day to day?

By

Relaxing, ads are actually well done in this game

The peaceful nature vibe is great. The ads only shown on replay is great. The one course per day mechanic is great too. Just a perfect little toy while waking up. I hope they go further with it.

By

I’m intrigued.

The game seems fun. I’m having fun. I like golf. I wish the wedge went farther but I guess my wedge in real life doesn’t go that far. I guess that’s the reality of the game. Therefore I feel that this game accurately represents real golf so I will continue to play so I can improve my real golf game. Thank you to the creators of this game for helping me improve my golf game.

By

I want to play more

I don’t mind the randomness. I just want to play more. Let me play prior courses. The first time I played I clicked everywhere to access previous days that I had missed. I was astounded to learn that here is a game you really only get to play once per day. It’s a wordle, but it’s golf.

By

Wind vs. RNG

I love CoffeeGolf and the social aspect with different challenges everyday. Very fun concept and game. Biggest change I would make would be removing the RNG and adding some sort of wind element. That way the wind can be more of an educated guess instead of completely random. For a game based around creativity and skill and optimizing the strokes used for each hole, a completely random element ruins most of the game. Getting a hole in one can be immediately erased by some insane errant shot that is no where close to where you aimed. Driver is used on most hole, so opting for shorter “more accurate” clubs is not viable. Perhaps making the RNG circle much smaller would help as well.

By

One small detail ruining potential hit

Game is a great concept, enjoyable and simple, but the shot variability pulls any user out of enjoying it to its full potential. My friends and I all played and tried to outdo the best score but we all quickly got sick of how inaccurate shots were. It’s one thing to have wind or something like that where the player can factor that into there shot, but that’s not the case here.

By

Zero accuracy and control

Do you like precision and accuracy? Do you like to be able to control the game? Do you like consistency in gaming? Well then this ISN'T the game for you.
You select one of 3 clubs, the aim AAAAAND the ball goes wherever the game wants it to, grab the driver and hit a long perfect drive or a weird creoles
Shot that bounces off invisible obstacles. Grab the putter line up your shot pull back AAAAAND it goes long or short depending on how the game decides. The only thing you truly control is the direction you hit, NOTHING else is up to you.

I paid to play the unlimited levels. I regret it. This is BY FAR, the worst controlled game and has ZERO actual physics. It’s hit and hope. If I wanted that I’d go play real golf.

By

Could be better

In my opinion, CoffeeGolf has a lot of potential but two main issues.

First, there’s an “invisible wall” bug where the ball will randomly hit an invisible wall and change direction. I’ve encountered this every time I play the past few days.

Second, the random aiming with every shot is not fun especially for a game incentivizing getting a low score. The player should be able to aim their shots precisely using some other gameplay mechanic such as a meter seen in other golf games.

By

The perfect game

I love mornings and you are making them more relaxed!
The perfect sounds, without background music. The perfect scenery. The fact that you allow us only one round is amazing because the goal is to enjoy it.
If I created a game myself, it would be like this.

Thank you!

Pretty Fun Game

Game is pretty fun. Some complain about the inconsistency. I get it, I think the lower your average score the lower inconsistency in your shot. After you pay for the game I wish you could play the previous 30 days rather than just the current month, a button to go back to the calendar, and a random button to play a random day. Other improvements include a share button rather than copying your score and some way to show that your score is from the first play without restarting.

By

Fun at first, then just annoying

The first few days were fun - felt like I was getting the hang of the clubs and how far the ball would bounce or roll. I loved the different courses and the simplicity. After day 4 or 5, I started getting frustrated. There was no way to guess whether the same shot in the same direction would behave the same or not. I don’t think I’ve sunk a shot that wasn’t with the putter and already on the green. It just became a punishing exercise in frustration.

I’m on day 15 or so of playing and I’m deleting CoffeeGolf now. It’s not worth the small amount of rage I feel when playing.

By

Best Golf Game, by Far

… and the name is disturbingly accurate. First two things I do in the morning are make my cup and check out the new course. Well worth the marginal cost to be able to replay the holes, especially since I can hardly wait for the next one to come out. I love the nature soundtrack and simplicity as well… playing is often my first mindfulness activity of the day.

By

Love it!!

I normally don’t leave reviews on games or apps but I felt I needed to for this game. I am absolutely addicted. The art for the game is simplistic and cartoony which gives the game an arcade feeling which is extremely fun and relaxing. The way I describe the game to friends I share it with is it is basically Wordle but with golf.

One recommendation I would like the developers to implement is the ability to make a friends list where you can compare your score to friend’s scores each day I think it would add some competitiveness to the game.

By

Needs some improvements…

This game has a ton of potential. Biggest problem I have is that the physics of the game are extremely inconsistent. Think your shot is straight? HA. Joke is on you. Because it will curve while in flight or it’ll magically bounce slightly off to one side or the other.
Putting it the only thing consistent with this game.

One thing I would like to see a daily scoreboard ranking. As a user, I wanted to see where I stood each day compared to others. Instead, it would only tell you if you scored in the top 50%, 25%, or 10%.

Though, in the end, I presume none of this matters. Mostly because the developer will just focus on the positive reviews, since they clearly outweigh the negative reviews. Therefore, those of us that are unhappy with certain features will be ignored. I understand that. Why fix something only a small group of people are complaining about?

And, for the record, I played this game daily for a month. So, I feel that I gave it a “fair shake” before leaving a review.

By

Great Game. Just 1 Recommendation.

This game is great and I love how it’s a new course everyday. The only thing I would change would be the ability to replay a course over and over. There have been plenty of times where I’ll play a course, send my score to my friends, then somehow by some miracle the same friend keeps getting “lucky” hole in 1’s in every hole and they end up in the top 1%. Once in awhile is lucky, but everytime? I’m not sure. I think only your first score should count (unless you want to watch an ad for a 2nd attempt) however, if you are someone who just keeps resetting CoffeeGolf everytime you don’t get a score you like, I feel like there should be an indicator in that persons scorecard that it is not a legitimate attempt. Maybe if they attempt a course more than twice they don’t get the “top ___%” icon at the end of their score? Not sure, but just a suggestion! Other than that one minor issue this game is fantastic and my family loves playing and sending our scores to eachother. 10/10.

By

Easy, competitive game!

I’ve been playing this game for a month with family on the other side of the country and it’s been a wonderful way to stay in touch daily. One suggestion would be to lean into the sharing with friends aspect and add an iMessage style replay so you can see how your friends did the course (after you finish for the day). Hopefully that gets added, I feel like it would elevate the gameplay a bit more!

By

Honestly rare for me to review a game but…

Even when I hate this game and get a bad score I can’t help but to love it and come back the next day just to play the next round. I’m not pressured into beating the game, just play, you don’t have to be good, you just have to beat yourself. I honestly really recommend this game if you’re looking for something simple, not that hard, and not super competitive. Coffee golf is the perfect name for this simple and relaxing game.

By

Not a game of skill…

The game is almost perfect, it’s beautiful and simple, controls are great, and I love the once-a-day aspect of it… keeping my streak keeps me coming back every day, and having feedback on what percentile my score is is nice (although you could just tell us what percentile we got, not just “top 50%”)…

The major flaw is that there appears to be a built in amount of “random error” in each shot… sometimes I take a shot and the ball just goes way right or left! It’s unpredictable and can turn an easy hole into a disaster… as a result, getting a good score involves too much luck, and no amount of skill can overcome it… if there were wind or some sort of timing mechanic to allow the player to control the ball’s direction of travel this would be so much better… worried that it’d be too easy if the player could rely on where the ball will go? It won’t be easy, the holes are plenty challenging… personally, I think it’d be perfect if they just removed the random error and left everything as it is… it’s a really good game that I just can’t play any more because it’s too aggravating to line up a shot and have it hit a tree you were aiming well to the left of…

By

Cool idea, but RNG is annoying

The idea of this game is really great - 5 holes and you decide how you want to play it to get the best score. My one big gripe with this game is that there is a heavy amount of RNG applied to the driver and wedge - which can be frustrating because the ball doesn’t always follow the exact path that is shown when you take a shot.

I’ve seen some people say how they think the RNG makes it more realistic and like actual golf - but it makes the game less of a matter of skill when you include a “random” factor like RNG. I’d like to see something like wind speed or a more measurable factor to replace the RNG factor - making the game more skill-based when you add something like that to make it a little harder rather than something that you have no control over

By

Good game but inconsistent shots

I play this game daily and I’m usually in the top 1%-5%. The game itself is awesome and I look forward to a new course each morning. I have to agree with others that the shots are entirely inconsistent. There’s no rhyme or reason that the shots just go in any direction. I could see if there was a wind factor as in other games but that doesn’t seem to be the case here. There should be a way that if you hit the ball consistently and develop skill you will get better, that’s certainly not the case with this game. Sure, you can get somewhat better which just learning the different clubs etc. but it’s very inconsistent with how the shots go. The developers fix that and this will be the best mobile game imho.

By

Good game, bad physics

This is a pretty good game if you are looking for something mindless to play in your down time. I have two complaints. The first is the physics are janky. Bell will randomly stop or your ball is slowing down, but hits a wall and and shoots off it with a decent amount of force. Not terrible and I wouldn’t avoid the game over it, but it can be frustrating at times. Second compliant is that I wish it was consistent. You can shoot the same shot three times and get three different positioning. Makes it hard to master a course when you shot has variability and not much consistency.

By

Great game - Gets repetitive though

I’ve been playing this every day since the beginning of June and I’ve loved it. Becomes my daily routine with my coffee before work. I have noticed that after awhile the courses basically repeat themselves so it gets pretty repetitive to see the same courses over the month. Would be nice to see some different obstacles in the game too, other than sand traps and trees. Maybe a shed or small building? Or even some different water elements like a log could try to land the ball on to get across a body of water?

By

Super fun but one major issue

I absolutely love the game and enjoy having something to come back to everyday like Wordle is. I even enjoy the competitive factor against friends and the percentile to see how well you do. The new pro tours have greatly improved the longevity of the game and the diversity of maps is such a great addition. However, the game is not perfect. The random error or wind or whatever causes the ball to randomly drift off to the exact spot I was trying to avoid is extremely aggravating. Every time I have a good shot lined up it’ll drift into a tree, the water, or a small bump that launches the ball off somewhere else making it impossible to skillfully line up your shots. If there was a wind feature that you could adjust for it would make the game better but without it you just have to try and shoot extra conservative and miss out on being able to get hole in ones for the most part. Hopefully this will be updated and added upon but even with this flaw the game is still great.

By

Great game! Could be epic if...

- You stop randomizing the bounce mechanics and shot angles. There is no reason why putt direction can be so consistent and driver direction can be so random. 90% of my drives go at least 3 degrees off of where I shot it. And even if I do magically manage to get the randomizer to match my where I was actually aiming, the bounce mechanics often cause my ball to stop and loose almost all momentum. When there is a tournament at risk with paid resources, this is just hostile to your customers.

- You get rid of the lighthouse biome. It is so super annoying, inconsistent and frustrating to loose hundreds of thousands of tokens because of how the course decided to bounce my ball a million miles away because I was a pixel off.

Make me in, S

Dear Coffee Golf, your game is really good I like it. My dad is really good at it. His name is Brandon he likes to share it online with his friends. I like it to say never get it in like 15 Times or something and then you get it back I waited your company and that game five stars I like it a lot I just tried a new course today I didn’t play played in a while the last time I played it was only when I was in San Diego. When do you play? Do you play it every day do you not? I don’t know. Tell me back sign cockeyed 22.

By

Could be great.

The daily courses are great. The pro tour is where I have complaints. They need to be against players in real time. Right now I am finding myself playing the same 4 guys and their coins and trophies are drastically different from round to round which means it’s recorded games. This is dumb. It feels like you get close to completing it and they throw a match at you where some guy has scored a 7 or 8. Also the ball no longer flys consistently. You can zoom in and take a straight shot but then it can veer left or right by a lot. Makes no sense.

Ultimately it is a fun game but save yourself the frustration of playing the Pro Tour until it’s fixed.

Also they need to add a feature to play friends live.

By

Throttled winning

I’m not typically one to complain but this game could not more clearly keep you from winning more than 1….MAYBE 2 matches in a row. I noticed pretty quickly that some weird things would happen in a match following a win. Examples being the ball would roll further or stop on a dime. So I paid more attention and would purposely play more conservatively after a win only to see my shots do much wilder things. At best they make the shot variability higher after you win, at worst it’s done to force you into buying coins to continue playing. Either way, I will no longer be playing the pro league until I see info saying this has been clearly changed.

The daily game is a fun break after morning emails though.

By

The game is good but can get frustrating.

I’ll say what frustrates me first.

I thought my finger was slipping but the randomness of some shots get frustrating. It would be fine if there was an indicator of wind but it doesn’t so there’s an element of rng that can take the fun out of a match. There’s also times where the ball loses all momentum on a flat surface and it feels more like a bug than a part of the game.

Although there are small aspects that make this game frustrating, it is relatively amazing. I have an office job so I get a lot of downtime and I am constantly on CoffeeGolf; therefore, it is a great way to kill time. The daily course keeps me coming back and trying to get top 10% (and even top 1%) is a challenge worth doing. The online mode is even more fun as I can rack up $100,000 and lose it in a matter of minutes. Some people are just too good.

Although there are minor things that can frustrate a player, it doesn’t affect the game enough to be bad.

Almost Good

I want to like this game and in fact there are many things I do like about it. I would easily give this a 5-star rating if it wasn’t for the randomness of the shots. In fact, I don’t even mind that except they have a leaderboard. Why have a leaderboard if we can’t count on the quality of our shots. Essentially, the leaderboard is just a glorified “lucky” board. Trying more does not help you get better in this game. Making it to the top of the leaderboard is about luck on your shots. Same with playing other players. In this game, winning isn’t about skill as the random nature of the shots makes it irrelevant. Makes this game not worth trying or practicing or paying for the unlimited plays. If you haven’t paid - don’t, unless they fix the randomness.

What an amazing game.

Coffee Golf" is an innovative and engaging mobile game that offers a unique twist on the classic sport of golf. CoffeeGolf cleverly combines the elements of traditional golfing with a more relaxed, coffee-themed atmosphere, creating a casual yet challenging gaming experience.

The game's graphics are delightful, featuring warm, coffee-inspired colors and smooth animations that add to its charm. The courses are creatively designed, resembling various coffee-related items and settings, which keeps the gameplay fresh and interesting.

One of the strengths of "Coffee Golf" is its simple yet intuitive control scheme. Players can easily adjust the power and angle of their shots, making the game accessible to beginners while still offering enough depth to challenge more experienced gamers. This balance ensures that the game remains fun and engaging for a wide range of players.

It’s okay, and then it’s not okay

I like the game for the daily round of 5 holes, I actually do it while having coffee in the morning. The Pro Tour seemed like a good idea and I was interested in the idea of playing against others. I’ve come to see that I am playing against bots or AI, not other people. I’ve seen the “opponent” take a shot that bounces wide into water or off the area, but then the ball is on the green somehow. That’s not fair. I follow the golf bot around the course and match them shot for shot. Every time they make amazing shots. I have a hard time believing there are that many live people making those perfect shots. Seems unlikely. On the first level of Pro Tour, the Brew, the bot will mess up sometimes ( maybe it is a real person). But on higher levels like Beans and Mocha, i rarely get a win even if I get every hole in two strokes or less. I paid for coins once and they disappeared quickly on the Mocha tour, so I won’t be spending anymore money on that. If they’re not going to match us with real people who are online, at least program the AI to make a mistake once in a while like a real person.

RNG ruins the game

Amazing concept, something I used to look forward to playing every morning. The addition of the head to head mode was fun and exciting.

However, the game is completely ruined by the randomness of each shot. The ball will go quite literally anywhere but right where you aim. I have played over 1000 holes, and I can say without a shadow of a doubt that the game is coded to not only send the ball nowhere near where you want, but also to create a result that is the most absurd result possible. It goes way out of its way to be as annoying as possible.

I don’t expect the game to just be a walk in the park, what fun is that? But - opening the game to a ridiculous course layout (again designed to be as annoying as humanly possible most days) where you then also have to deal with getting a random shot result each time…. I just simply am not interested in that.

video game masterpiece

I’ve played a lot of video games on pc, gamecube, ps4, switch. And i’ve played many years of competitive and leisurely golf. The best golf games i’ve played were the ea sports tiger woods games from the mid 2000s, until Coffee Golf. This is the best golf video game i’ve ever played. It captures the strategy, the luck, the creativity, the frustration, the pain; it captures the unbridled ecstasy in seeing a ball roll in a hole, it captures the green fields of the mind, the calm of Golf perfectly, like no other video game. I also really appreciate the way the developers have iterated on the initial release and continue to add incredibly substantive and exciting new features to the game.

love this game its funny because of the name

So i am a golfer and me and my buddies get coffee before we go play golf and this game was a perfect fit but i do wish there was a practice mode or something because i ran out of money and had nothing to do on the game without having to spend money. the game is great except that when you do run out of money you have to wait for the ad thing or pay. the daily holes go by super quick for me. All o would add is a light practice mode or even a map creator feature i dont know just something different.

Beware! WAS Fun but…. DEVS got greedy

As aforementioned in many other reviews, this is a aesthetically pleasing, entertaining, simple mechanics game. But the randomness is infuriating, and clearly purposefully built into the game to force you to loose your coin as soon as you make enough to push forward. Yet another game trying to find ways to make you pay up to make progress; never fails.

Edit: Had to remove another star.
Was hopeful when I saw a update, went back in to check it out, and it’s only gotten worse. Added more trinkets in hopes to for people to find more reason to purchase more unnecessary items. Glitches got so much worse & pulled the curtain back even further on how rigged each game is against you.

Experienced “forfeit?” messages well before loss is a forgone conclusion (still plenty of shots to win or draw matches). Perfectly lined/powered shots suddenly hit invisible walls at the threshold of cup, and/or suddenly bounce of in a random direction. Another fun one is when deciding to change shot type or direction, no matter how careful you are to fully retract shot, game often times will take the liberty to waste a shot for you.

Latest updates are . . . unfortunate

This is largely a pretty fun game. Easy controls, a straightforward mission. The competition aspect in pro tour were cool too. But I love and hate it.

With the latest updates, I have some complaints:

1. The logic determining how your ball behaves when you it it makes the game frustrating. You can make a shot and see it fly off into the water, then make an identical shot and it'll bounce in the direction you were intending it to. I've made multiple shots where it bounced in a completely flat area, but for some reason, the logic killed the bounce and instead of traveling forward (it was a full swing), it just stopped in its tracks and bounced vertically a short height and then stopped. I don't understand why, and the inconsistency of the reaction to the shots you take make it a frustrating play.
2. The gems feel like a money grab. Since you can only earn coins in pro tour, and there are no options to buy coins or earn them elsewhere, what happens when you run out of coins? This is not a suggestion to add an option to buy coins! Removing the ability to earn coins in regular play and replacing it with gems that uncouple the daily gameplay from pro tour fractures the game and removes incentives for me to practice or do better. I don't care about cosmetics - I'd rather earn coins when I get better during regular gameplay so I can take it to the pro tour.

Great, but what’s up with the tour?

I like this game and it’s a lot of fun. Although, the whole appeal is the pro tour mode. I can tell I am not playing with actual people. This is clear. They do use real player names but don’t have real players on the other side. The problem with it is that the mode is completely imbalanced. You have one opponent who is trash, next game you have an opponent who is a little better, then after that you play against a god. I assume it is to balance the game play and keep your win rate at an appropriate amount. But they ramp the difficulty so high that you have to make two birdies in a round to win. (Typically all holes can be par 2 with some par 3 - if you play well) This also plays into the fact that the ball tends to veer off in to an unknown direction at long shots. So you have to play well and lucky.
I would update this review if they managed the bots and slight randomness a little better.

This game is really good…. At first

This game is a great game with a great concept and great gameplay!

There are 2 modes

The main mode called Classic is this games take on the “wordle craze” going on in todays market. It’s a daily course that everyone plays and you can compare your scores to that of your friends and share on social media. It’s a really cool idea! And I love it!

The secondary mode is called Pro Tour and it’s a mode where you play against another player in a 5 hole course for in game currency. The difficulty of the course which you select before you play determines how much in game currency you win

The game is a free game but has micro transactions

You can buy more gems to buy cosmetics and you can pay $5 to have no ads in the pro tour mode and the ability to replay the daily classic course as many times as you want!
Ultimately the only reason this game isn’t perfect is because the ads in the pro tour mode are not there immediately from downloading the game and after spending hours playing the game they finally only came on between every round you play.

To me that’s a little concerning because it’s like they want to hook you just to keep you even with the ads later on

I’m all for devs making their money. But be upfront about it!

So there that’s that! Fun game. The classic mode is the only mode worth playing if you are one that hates ads

Ruined my whole life

One day I had a wonderful life. I was the star of every sport at my school including the girls teams. I would single-handedly score 15 touchdowns a game hit 30 home runs a game, score 25 soccer goals, run an average 3.6 second mile and drop 200 points per basketball game. I pulled the baddest girl in school and we had 3 young Tom Brady's. My life was perfect. Then came along the mobile game known as coffee golf. I had to try it. After all I shot 18 on a real golf course. But then something crazy happened. I got demolished by people such as bunkerben, cuddlyabsorbedponcho, and astonishinghandsomeotter. Suddenly it affected my whole life. I spent my whole life savings on that game and lost it all to the better players. Suddenly I only scored 8 touchdowns and only made 80 points in basketball. I was even kicked off all the girls teams because I had a penis. My wife left me. And my 3 kids got run over by a coca-cola 18 wheeler. I now live on a lonely island with no friends trying to beat the opps in coffee golf.
