Does not work. Application crashes anytime you try to upload a file. Horrible.

Stuck on “connecting to server”. If I ever get access again will be moving everything somewhere else. This is unacceptable.

SeafilePro needs some major upgrades, the photos do NOT auto upload. Overall SeafilePro is just bad in comparison to the desktop clients.

I like the idea of self-hosting my cloud data, seafile comes short due to bugs though. Some crashes, and generally the auto photo upload does not work.

I like the Seafile concept of a local cloud but it has not worked consistently on iPhones or iPads since I started using it last year. SeafilePro freezes during uploads and has to be restarted. I was hopeful the new version 2.71 would fix this but it did not. Really not usable on iPhones and iPads... Show more the way it is. Fix the mobile app and you have a decent product.

Photos uploaded can’t keep the size unchanged, although the resolution may not change, I want to keep my photos as it is created!

On ipad, photos are not shown full screen when in landscape mode. So the photos are not much bigger than on my phone. In fact, they are smaller than in portrait mode :(

Seafile lacks the ability to play local audio files in the background. This is a really important feature to me, and I hope it's added to the iOS app soon. The Dropbox iOS app does a great job of this, and I'd love to see similar functionality in Seafile.

One incredible feature of SeafilePro is that you’ll have to swipe all through your files because there’s no way to search. Happy scrolling!

Let me clarify by saying that SeafilePro is definitely functional and works well enough. All features do work but it’s pretty lacking. Needs a dark mode update, it’s not very responsive when tapping around quick.

The server software works excellent with much issue, and is FAST. The problem is, this client has a few issues and needs to be updated. Sometimes syncing glitches and doesn’t work right. I’ve had to reinstall SeafilePro and server both because of this. Sometimes I can no longer unlock my encrypted... Show more library. Face ID support is there, it just says Touch ID instead. Ultimately as it stands right now, the web app works a bit better at the moment. Hopefully they update SeafilePro soon and Seafile can reach its full potential.

Nice app but it is hard to use for who those prefer dark themes

It would be better to mark some files as offline so that when we wipe cache, we can choose to wipe all the cache or we can still keep the files that are offline

SeafilePro is actually pretty solid. A few things that would make it much better.

1. When a file is marked as available offline, it would be great if those files would appear in a Seafile directory under “on my iPhone”. This would make it significantly easier to work with other apps.

Surprisingly clean and stable for a self hosted app.

Only complaint: background photo uploads don’t work

The application works quite well overall. Syncing and downloads work as expected, the Touch ID works as expected, and I’ve had no issues uploading and downloading files in bulk.

That said, Seafile doesn’t really integrate into iOS like most other online storage apps like Dropbox or Google Dr... Show more ive. It doesn’t show up as a storage location in files, and applications that do see it in the share sheet do not have a way to request an authentication key to access files without exporting them directly from the Seafile UI.

It suits my needs, and works well for its flagship features, but it’s not going to provide a seamless replacement on iOS even if it’s head and shoulders above competitors on Linux, Windows, and MacOS.

Update: looks like the developers are actively trying to address my one gripe. Still not getting expected behavior, but active development is always a good sign for long term support. Perpetual “authentication required” for anything using the Files app in iOS.

I'm an attorney and data backup and security is a must. I've tried 4-5 different self-hosted solutions including owncloud and syncthing, and seafile is better than anything else out there. Show more st - to your phone, iPad, web browser, etc. It has desktop apps for Windows and Mac, and the iOS app is great. Best part is I am able to run my server on a raspberry PI. Only complaint I have is you can't share a link for a file in an encrypted library, but if you really want to share something it's not hard to download the file, upload it to an unencrypted library, and then share a link. Overall it's excellent.
