Bedtime Shema -Jewish Children Reviews

I've used BedtimeShema many times over the past year or 2 since I downloaded it. It has the full text of Krias Shema, which is very useful!
Highly recommend BedtimeShema to anyone that wants to say Shema before going to sleep and would like to have the text easily accessible.

BedtimeShema is a powerful tool to aide parents in encouraging the proper bedtime ritual for their children. The activities and the friendly graphics are enticing for children of all ages as they say their nightly prayers.

Great app in many ways. Sometimes the sound just doesn’t work. And sometimes it just does work. I have no idea why. If someone can please direct me as to why this happens and what we can do.

I must say this is a lovely app while I was looking for a bedtime prayer for my toddler and I came across this, we don't speak Hebrew but for some unknown reason my son love it,specially the shema , he's so into it and that make want to learn it. I understand this a Jewish app but it would be marvelous if we could have it ( shema ) in both languages English &Hebrew so we could understand the prayer . I really hope that you guys updated it soon.

With all due respect, the Shema should be said clearly, not rushed, not with words blending together and all letters pronounced. (Do it over?)

The "girls" version is a little better, but again, it is very bad to learn improper pronunciation first - only to need to be re-taught with proper pronunciation later in addition to breaking the habits of saying words incorrectly.

Perhaps utilize children ( or grown ups ) that understand how to halachically say the Shema properly; especially since this is the only part of Jewish liturgy that absolutely must be said in Hebrew (first two lines). Ask any scholar or rabbi about this.

Better yet, have a rabbi or Torah scholar check the recording before releasing any updated soundtrack.

I hope this doesn't offend the kids or the parents of the kids, but this is serious stuff.

Nice to see the option to skip the brushing teeth and turning off the light etc. could make it more user friendly after the initial use of BedtimeShema for continued use, since if a child will be using this night after night for a while, it may become tedious to get right to the business of saying Shema with needing to go through the other "cute" clutter.

Within the past 5 years I have learned that the Torah is still valid and started being Torah observant and I have just recently this year learned the 1st 2 lines of the Shema in Hebrew & I have yet to learn Hebrew (a work in progress). I have a grandson that will be arriving in September and would really love for him to be able to hear the Shema in Hebrew and English. Is there any way to add a English version of the Shema? I will be using BedtimeShema with him! Thank you so much for doing this! And I love your reasoning behind doing it! So glad you were blessed with a wonderful mother! Shalom!

Reciting this with your kids is something that they will always remember and never forget so most importantly make sure you spend time reading it with them rather than them using BedtimeShema alone by themselves. It is a fantastic idea and a wonderful interactive app as all our Torah should be - interactive.

I have no doubt that this will be a great merit to the soul if the departed תנצבה and also for those who have been involved with BedtimeShema and Torah in general to bring merit to the many. ישר כח

Im in college and I really just wanted an easy shema app so i dont have to use a flashlight and a siddur!
Anyways BedtimeShema is what i found and its super useful!
But perhaps you could make a similar app just for adults without all the sounds and animations and things.
If not, then i would super appreciate if there was a way to permanently shut off the sounds without shutting the sound on my whole phone.

I downloaded BedtimeShema for the full shema for myself but my kids so get a kick out of it as well.

BedtimeShema is very cute but the shema is rushed and garbled with many of the classes childhood errors. A re-recording of it clearly and slowly would be much appreciated. Keep up the good work!

One of the best apps I have seen. I can't wait for my grandchildren to sleep over. I use rusty brick's siddur pp and art scroll daf yomi app every day. Their demonstrated high quality is evident in this latest a endeavor. I am sure that the soul of the departed BedtimeShema is in memory of will have an Aliyah each time a child uses BedtimeShema .

I have no children and i am an adult but I am learning the prayers... although I have been studying Hebrew I was having trouble with learning this prayer. This is an easy mitzvah to take on and now, BedtimeShema helps me accomplish this!

I love BedtimeShema. The developer used actual non-professional children to sing the prayers. There is both Hebrew and English (love the Hebrew accent!). It is very sweet...at one point you can even hear one of the kids pausing to catch his breath.

I thought this idea was really nice in honor of your mother/grandmother. It's so sweet that her grandkids recorded the shema. Me and my friends talk about how adorable BedtimeShema is. Thank you for making me able to say shema anywhere I go! May her Neshamah have an Aliyah!!

This a great app! It's especially useful when I am in bed and extremely tired so that I don't have to turn on the lights to say shma. Additionally it's great if you don't have a siddur around.

Beautify done. My 3 year old daughter loves BedtimeShema and is so excited to say shma allong with the kinderlach in BedtimeShema !!!!

Keep up the great work you are doing. Surely your mothers neshama is smiling down at all those Jewish kids reciting shema.

Incredible app! Great for young and old. I will share this with everyone. May your mothers neshama have an incredible Aliyah through the tefillos that come because BedtimeShema is here.

My boys 6 n 7 lovin BedtimeShema that now they have me with my phone each take there turn to tuck to bed with this. Greatest part is that now they tryin to learn the veahavta here and they like the song n music. Only thing is the version of boy chanting is too fast n pronounciation. Would facilitate my boys to learn it if it wasnt out of breath fast. Thanks for BedtimeShema tho!
