About Goodnight Moon

Children, parents and fans of this charming storybook will be delighted by the crackling fire, soothing piano music and sing-song narration as they help the little bunny say goodnight to all the lovely familiar things in the “great green room”.

Empty the bowl of mush, make the mittens wave good-bye and hear the old woman whispering hush while shooting stars, purring kittens and slowly fading light help your own little bunnies drift off to sleep.

Now, the best-selling children’s classic Goodnight Moon has been beautifully re-imagined as an interactive app designed for your iPad, iPhone and iPod Touch.

With a touch, swipe or tilt of the screen little fingers send the cow jumping over the moon and make the three little bears chatter and laugh in their chairs.

• Enjoy the book read with calm and captivating narration, set to a charming piano soundtrack.

65 years ago, Margaret Wise Brown and Clement Hurd created one of the most beloved bedtime books of all time.

Find and follow the tiny mouse playing hide and seek and discover hidden surprises on every page.

Or, read the book yourself in Read Myself and Autoplay modes.

Still a clasic

This is just as charming as the book I purchased so long ago. This is without a doubt my favorite book and the electronic version just adds to the fun. I would recommend for anyone with small children or anyone who wants to look back and reminisce. Thank you!

Nice rendition, music and reading but unintuitive interface and poor use of screen size

My biggest complaint is why does this waste so much screen space and make the book so small? Please make the book bigger by using more of the available space. I read this to my daughter every night and the book is frustratingly small and hard to see.

Sound?

Is there a reason my app has no sound, but it has a music volume scale? I’ve deleted it and downloaded it again and no success.

I also agree with the comment on the wasted screen real estate, make the book image bigger- that’s the reason we bought GoodnightMoon in the first place.

Room for upgrades

I received GoodnightMoon as a gift. And would never complain about something free. However, there is a lot of room to improve and sometimes my littles needed help.

Nice app

Goodnight Moon is a wonderful story brought to life via the iPad. I do wish it were a little bigger, so the interactive parts were not so participatory (or at all present in the read to me portion)...as after the story you want your little one to be calm and sleepy...and not charged up after going at the page with a magnifying glass trying to find items. I would love to be able to divide GoodnightMoon into..reading the story, playing a game, or just listening to the beautiful music that is accompanied to the book. I would definitely recommend GoodnightMoon.

Great app and I love it

I am 6 years old and I love GoodnightMoon. I always liked the book.

No sound on this version!!!

I bought Good Night Moon a few years ago for my older iPad and it worked great. Bought GoodnightMoon for a newer iPad for a different child and was vastly disappointed. No read-along, no sound effects .... TERRIBLE!!!

Great Book

GoodnightMoon works fine. It’s a great book and my kids love it!

Awesome app, doesn’t work with latest iOS anymore

Too bad. Don’t buy until updated. No sound.

By

What a waste

GoodnightMoon has no sound (even after adjusting the “Music” level). Also, the pages only fill half the screen. The Dr. Seuss book apps are much better for the same price.

No sound!!!

Have tried all suggested fixes, nothing has worked. Waste of money.

By

Sound?

There isn’t any sound. It’s a disappointment.

Rrm

As usual, paid for a Loud Crow app and got NO SOUND. I’m going to fight this charge on my credit card. I’m sick of this company.

Nice enhancement of the classic book

Soundtrack and hidden picture hunt are great for making the story interactive for parents and their young ones.

Not sure what happened when we first downloaded GoodnightMoon, but we had no sound. It was only when I heard it on my iPhone that I realized something wasn't working correctly on the iPad. I removed GoodnightMoon , installed iOS 6.1.3, and reinstalled the book. Sounds are working fine now.

Not five stars because the 2 page format makes GoodnightMoon difficult to use on the iPhone.

This where old tech clearly doesn't grow up

This is only slightly better then the real book
Its clearly a old tech crammed into a new tech world and has the feel of bricks and mortar in a glass polish world, this is truly a disappoint when compared to the Peter Rabbit books, from the same company using the same tech.
There are just too many things wrong, its way too small, your child can get tossed to the apple store for another product, my child likes that i read this book in the binder form. Its that bad, i have since used another $5 book creator app just So my child will read the book, had to do the same for the going to bed book as well.
Not worth buying this version..

we can't find the mouse

My 15 month old grandson loves the original book. It frustrates him because it is too hard for him to find the mouse. It is there somewhere if you find the right spot to touch to make it visible, but it is not even easy for an adult to activate the mouse on some of the pages. There should be a setting to leave the mouse visible for the young (under 19 months) reader.

Great until the sound died

GoodnightMoon worked well for my one year old for several months. I'm not sure about the other problems negative reviews stated as it seemed no problem for my child. One month ago though the sound mysteriously died. Everything else on my iPad has sound, so I suspected my kid accidentally changed an option. I tried everything I could find. It wasn't the music or reading options. I found no silencing option. I have to conclude after looking through every last thing that GoodnightMoon itself lost the sound and there is no way to turn it back on.

Very cute book

I loved reading this book to my daughter when she was a baby and we loved searching for the little mouse. She's 8 now and even though she may think she's outgrown this book, when she finds out it's interactive and she can now read it for herself, I think she'll love it again. We now have a grand daughter and I'm sure she'll love having it read to her by me and my daughter. It is really a cute book.

Just bad

We read a lot of kids books on the iPad. While the platforms used by the Dr Seus and Lil Critter books is exceptional, GoodnightMoon falls short in several areas:

- the book content only fills a fraction of the screen. Around 40% of the screen space is wasted.

- page turning is really finicky. If you don't hit the edge when you swipe they will not turn the page.

- there is no "read it myself option"

- annoying music plays and there is no way to turn it off

- the hidden mouse from Lil critter etc is copied but instead of a hidden picture game you need to poke everything on the screen, watching and hearing the annoying/distracting animations until the mouse pops out.

- the animations detract from the reading experience turning this beloved classic into something akin to whack a mole as the young reader pounds on the screen trying to activate animations

- once the book starts there is no way to return to the title screen without finishing the book.

Disappointing

The pages are very small and not friendly for the age of child this book is appropriate for. It's difficult to navigate back to the beginning to listen to it over again. It's already a $5 app, it's very annoying to have ads for other books right on the main screen and again at the end. Overall, we love the story and my daughter got frustrated with this and went and got her actual copy of the book. So disappointing

Crashes but works

I would have given this five stars but unfortunately GoodnightMoon closes randomly so I can’t
