👌🏾

Boy and Girl do I loooove Mammoth Mountain. Dave McCoy is a real innovator. The spirit of enjoyment is amazingly potent all around the vast Nature paradise. Running squirrels, flapping crows, are native to the region. ❤️👌🏻👌🏾❤️ It’s so fun here that you rarely encounter any emotional disconnections, everyone grows with the Sun and Enjoys the exciting electricity of their time here. It’s such a big mountain that it’s hard to get stuck in line for too long. It boasts terrain for all kinds of riding as well! I’m very happy to have experienced a full season at a land of plenty. 🌞🏔 Thank you Dave, Allaister, Paul, Geoff, and the list goes on, you all have grown out of me my Truth and my Light, and it’s quite a pleasurable Nature to be in! 👌🏾👌🏻❤️🌎

Old app was way better

The old Mammoth
app from years ago was substantially better than this one. Where is the trail map? The old app had a simple trail map that looks like every map of Mammoth mountain that you have ever seen, and it would place a blue dot right where you were standing. Extremely useful! MammothMountain won’t load the weather or trail status until you click on another icon and then come back to it. And it wants you to sign up for their services and login before you can do anything. When you are paying over $200 a day for a lift ticket they shouldn’t require anything more of you to simply see where you are or where your friends are.

Seems like a new group of people got their grubby hands on this application and just destroyed it.

Really lacking

As a frequent user of the Squaw Alpine app, which needs some improvement, I found the Mammoth app to be just... bad. The only redeeming feature is the functional map. So what’s not good? 1. The Check-in is inconsistent, and if you miss the auto-check-in, you need to realize that “track” is what you need to hit. The stats are really poor. No info on which runs or lifts you used. The worst? No way to track your friends on the slopes. There is a feature... it just doesn’t work. I tried every which way to make it work, but it’s so poorly executed, that I gave up and just used Google maps location sharing instead. There is no info on lift wait times. The browser-based pull for “Dine”, “Play”, and “Save” options is not a great experience either. Bottom line... Mammoth, build a better app!

Like the tracking

The Mammoth app has definitely improved over the previous generation. It’s power usage is less, but make sure you shut off all other extraneous apps to avoid draining your battery. I like the tracking features - # runs, total vertical feet, total distance, avg and max speed. My favorite is the summary tracker display of the itinerary of your runs over the trail map with the tortoise and the hare showing relative speed/time covered. Real time weather/conditions and lift status would be helpful.

Solid App, Needs UI Refinement

This is a solid app with some great functionality including weather, ski conditions and road updates along with trail map, etc. After using in near blizzard conditions on the mountain, I have some suggestions for the developers to make it 5-star.

First, ditch the “map” in the submenu or rename it “town map”. I kept getting stuck on this map when I was trying to find the trail map on the hills in my hands were starting to freeze.

Next, rename “live map” on the home page and call it “trail map” or “live trail map”.

Lastly, create a prominent button on the homepage called “ski patrol” or “emergency” that will autodial the mountain emergency line when touched. I had to help someone who needed ski patrol and was fumbling around in submenus with tiny type in a blizzard to find the number, then had to hand dial. I’ve since added the number to my favorites speed dial to for the future, but would be a great safety feature for all on the mountain if updated.

Thank you!

Love this app, tracking data and map of your runs, history

MammothMountain is very useful, helps you navigate the mountain while deciding which runs/route to take. It tracks vertical feet, mileage, top speed, runs, shows current altitude, and keeps a history log. I almost feel like hitting the slopes without this now would not be quite as fun. After my last trip, I loved seeing the runs I took, how fast (or not) I was going in each section, etc

Decent App. Webcams seem buggy this year.

The last few years MammothMountain has been really good. This season however I’m noticing there is a big problem with the web cameras. They seem stuck on November and early December dates. That was one of the greatest features MammothMountain had next to the crucial lift status and weather. I also don’t like the tracking feature as it’s confusing but I use a third party so I can track other mountains. Last I hate how it always runs in the background with the blue bar - using your location when I’m hundreds of miles away lol.

Redesigned version is awful

Useless weather forecast page compared to the old one, gives very little information. The weird new map seems useless, panning and zooming around it feels awful but I have no use for it. Why do you have different weather and snow conditions and also the Snow report in info that just links to a webview? New snow conditions removed knowing the base at main/mid/top.

Viewing open trails/lifts is awful. It should be sorted by open/scheduled/hold/closed etc to make it easier to search for the user. Trails shouldn’t be sorted in alphabetical order. They should be sorted based on open/closed or maybe also separated by areas like other mountains do. Maybe sorted by difficulty as well.

Camera views are clunky and near unusable for a mobile application. They are small since they can’t be viewed horizontally.

I like the intention behind redesigning MammothMountain , but it’s apparent there wasn’t much user testing for this CX. Hopefully can get some small updates before main part of the ski season! Looking forward to it

The Best

I must say,I was totally impressed with the safety protocols in place with COVID. There were attendees informing mask wearing & guests were complying. The lines were monitored as well as only guests who were together, rode together. The runs/ snow were in good condition. We have been skiing in Mammoth over 40 years. We have owned here for 20. Mammoth is by far the best!!

Corporate suits take over

No longer the family run resort. Large corporate group. Could care less about the local skiers, especially the seniors. Prices keep going up. As long as snow falls prices go up. It is now set up so that only a family of four that is in the top 1% can go skiing.

The lift operators don’t really care anymore, and don’t give the service they use to. There seems to be more lifts closed at certain times for no apparent reason other then it’s cheaper not to run them because there’s not that many people on the mountain. The groomers however, still do a great job in keeping the mountain groomed.
The Mountain itself is still an amazing ski mountain.

Track logs no longer have a map display??

One of the most useful features of MammothMountain used to be playing back the day to see where you went and a relative speed scale with that track, that fiction seems to be missing in the last way version.

I also trust the tracked speed less than previous versions. I didn’t compare to another app but they seemed to read too high today.

UPDATE: the common denominator on not displaying track maps seems to be iPhone Xs

App needs work

- Sometime does not refresh unless you shut it down and restart it - sometimes several times
- app logo does not show on ipad mini
- would be nice if you could click on the chair in the status and get its location on the mountain and maybe basic info about it - length, # people per chair, time bottom to top, etc.
- same with the trails
- on the trail map, use a different color than nlue for groomed trails to make it easy to differentiate them from intermediate.

Bring the old app back, please!

The new app is not user friendly. It is hard to navigate to the message of the day and the weather at different parts of the mountain. It all used to be on one page and very easily accessible.

By

Hate it

Bring back the old app. Favorite part of app
Is to check in on snow conditions through the web cams. Previously I could look at one page with 8 screen shots. Now I have to make many clicks on small icons and wait to take control and look at one at a time and click very small arrows on my phone. Also it’s not intuitive where the cams are located on MammothMountain either. I would
Check daily to get excited for skiing. I won’t come back much because it’s painful to navigate. Sooooo bummed!

Crashes all of the time, Cam views are not as good as before-too small

Since the latest update my app crashes all of the time.
It would be nice if it had facial recognition because it logs me out all of the time and I don’t remember my password so then I have to go look it up.
I don’t like the cams, you can hardly see anything. They were much better before.

OLD REVIEW
It would be nice if it had GPS and the dummy proof you are here dot with helpful prompts for example-where would you like to go -skill level -Apple Watch interface with turn by turn wrist prompts or iPhone audio prompts for those who wear an earbud There’s just not enough maps on the mountain and for some of us who are geographically challenged it would be nice to be able to explore more of the mountain without the fear of getting lost.

Love the mountain. Hate the app.

Best mountain in the world. MammothMountain is the worst. Sorry. It’s shocking in a world of apps being maybe the most important access tool to the mountain (because the live real person phone lines is always an extended hold time) that no one is overseeing MammothMountain programming. I actually called a couple weeks ago and asked “why does it say the mountain is open from 9-5:30 when it’s 8:30-4:30? The new live cam set up is useless. Wish it would just go back to last year. It was great.

Mammoth Review

This is an extremely impressive APP & we have relied upon it everyday of our vacation. MammothMountain has helped us stay on track during a variety of events in which our grandchildren are involved.
Thank you for your thought in its development!

Notifications needed

Would be great if lift/trail openings, closures could have notifications. Even better if you could tailor them for specifics. Getting phone out on the cold mountain to constantly check is a pain. Also, wish I could have a profile without having to give a single data point to FB.

By

Weak

Web cams used to be better, rather than fixed pictures.
When I access MammothMountain on my iPhone or iPad, MammothMountain does not change the display when I move the electronic device around. App displays in a fixed, not moving screen, which means it appears upside down.
How much are lift tickets? Finding the price in a simple place has escaped me. It seems like you have to initiate the purchase process before you can see the price.

It just doesn’t work

I love Mammoth mountain, and think they have done some great things, but MammothMountain isn’t one of them. You have to manually check in, and even when checked in, it doesn’t track where you are on the mountain or what lifts you took. I skied for several days in a row, and it says that I have done 0 runs. The only way to connect to friends is if they log in with Facebook. What if they don’t use Facebook? You just can’t connect. It just doesn’t work.

Love this app

Love MammothMountain I’m a skier Mammoth mountain is absolutely the best MammothMountain keeps me updated on summer bike trails and Snow levels! I love everything about it. not gonna lie got slightly lost on a slope all I did was pull out my phone check the map and I knew exactly where I was heading next.

By

Best skiing- app wanting

Love the many features and map. MammothMountain doesn’t have accurate weather reports but conditions reports are otherwise good. Easy to use but tracking progress turns off at lunch so if you forget to re-start you lose tracking of afternoon runs. Convenient

Good Idea/Good Start that needs work

Better than the prior app for tracking all things Mammoth. Still would like an app to break out the "down time" of the lift. Being tied to Facebook is ridiculous. With the security issues surrounding FB, I would hope MammothMountain would realize it needs to be stand alone. Also, it needs to integrate My Mammoth account info.
