豆瓣阅读 Reviews

A huge collection of books in Chinese (including Douban’s self-publishing books that are only available in this platform), good design, the ability to keep notes and read other people’s notes, well-synced with the website for writing book reviews etc. I can’t do without it.

Generally speaking, 豆瓣阅读 is good. There are abundant Chinese book resources (especially published ones) on it. And I enjoy reading comments on a certain paragraph from other people, which helps me learn how others think about it, and deepen my own understanding. It would be better if multiple pages an be shown at the same time, as on Kindle. This can provide some “sense of safety” for readers, especially for those who have gotten used to paper books, have the habit of going through several pages and estimating how much is left in the chapter visually.

I have used 豆瓣阅读 for reading six books. I was very pleased at the beginning regarding to everything about this software. But recently whenever I opened it, it has to just to the douban original works section, instead of the book page I recently read. It was not like this before. I don’t oppose for original book written by douban user, instead I sometimes read couple of pages. However, it was really not my expectation for 豆瓣阅读. Douban can go with it, and I believe it will help for improving the community, but I hope in the later version, I can have a choice.

The reading-out mode always function weirdly even when the internet connection is on. Is it possible that the package of different readers be offline available——so that when the internet is off, there is unnecessary error ; or when in-flight, listening to the book can still be a choice.

Extremely unfair book rating system, some books receive all 5-star comments but the final score turned out to be 7.8, never seems to figure that out..

Some books receive only one negative comment, the final score turned out to be 7.0, how is that justice?!

Very clean and user-friendly. However, it started to crash so often when I started using it on my new iPad a few days ago (all other apps were fine on my iPad). Also noticed that using 豆瓣阅读 drains the battery so quickly. Would be wonderful if it can allow the screen to auto lock after a few minutes when not using, just like other reading apps.

Occasionally it crashes, works fine after reboot. The notes function seems a bit fuzzy. The same notes icon appear over and over on the same page.

I was looking for a newly published book in China, and luckily found an electronic version on 豆瓣阅读. It’s easy to use, with powerful functions to comment or cite during my reading.

I’ve read so many more books since I discovered 豆瓣阅读 last year! Loving everything about it! It would be nice if it can be linked to the book reviews in Douban!

Comparing with WeRead(developed by tencent), Douban reading doesn’t have those annoying social network elements and Douban users are generally genuine and sincere, which lead to better quality of book reviews.

The layout will reconfigure when tilts the screen. It is possible that the whole app crashes. Otherwise really enjoy the books and the reading experience.

Easy to use, great reading experience, and you can buy Chinese books in USD!

I like 豆瓣阅读 and it is simple, clear and easy to use. But they do not have most books I am looking for, hope they can add more books there.

Difficult to open the downloaded book list when there is no signal. Hey if i have signal anytime why would I download the books to my phone

It is super annoying to see the logo change from time to time just to include new ads about new discounts or whatever. This is forcing some annoyed user to delete 豆瓣阅读 .

豆瓣阅读 has many titles that I can’t find else where. Great reads, well worth the time and money.

I have known Douban for 3 years. It is pretty good. I like it. I hope it will be better in the future.

Compared with other apps.

I’ve been using this apps for years and spent tons of money in buying ebooks there. However, after my latest update, I can’t log into my account; I lost all of my ebooks and I can’t find any support to send in questions. Can someone tell me what happened?
