Foreca Weather & Radar Reviews

I feel like I’ve spent years looking for a good, straightforward weather app. Most are loaded with ads, weighed down with flashy features and marketing gimmicks, use oversimplified data, or give forecasts and conditions that don’t even remotely match up with the real world. (I live in coastal Virginia only a few miles from the ocean, so accurate weather is both important and hard to come by.)

Foreca actually works. There are 3 screens with all the info you’d need: daily forecasts, hourly, and a very nice graph view for another perspective on the hourly. You can CUSTOMIZE the metrics shown on each screen so they show what you want. It somehow found a weather station a mile from my house that no other weather app knows about, so I’m at last getting realistic stats. And whatever models they use for forecasting work pretty darn well most of the time. Thank you Foreca.

I’ve been so ticked off about The Weather Channel and the various apps they’ve bought and lobotomized that I had given up hope of finding one that was useful. I stumbled across this because my car manufacturer wisely dumped the TWC dash app in favor of this one, so I looked into it. I like it so much that I added their website to my PC bookmarks. It’s not perfect, but it is uncluttered with minimal ad intrusion and very easy to find what you need. Like most apps out there, I wish it showed weather fronts on their maps. It has predictive radar, but the times jump in 3 hour increments. The map zoom feature is pretty limited, and there are no weather descriptions or discussions. Still, I like the information presented and hope the developers continue to improve this product.

First, I LOVE the layout and look of ForecaWeatherRadar , very clean without a bunch of unnecessary data. The forecasts have been accurate as well. However, I do have an issue with the sky conditions. ForecaWeatherRadar will show clear & sunny when the actual conditions are cloudy and overcast. If the sky conditions were more accurate I would no doubt rate this 5 stars.

Edit: Seems like this could’ve resulted from where in the country I was, more rural of an area. I have edited this to be 5* because I LOVE the layout and accuracy! Not to mention the ad-free version is more than reasonable, very much worth it and cheaper than inferior weather apps.

Foreca fills in where other weather apps left me wanting. Its front page gives a clean and yet information packed look. It is easy to navigate, and at least until now, is not bogged down by a load of things less needed. Very clean and clear, it is definitely the best lower-bandwidth option for great weather information.

I really enjoy the features included. I look forward to seeing future updates with more features too! Thanks.

Update: after using ForecaWeatherRadar for a few months I’m very impressed in the accuracy! I’d be willing to pay for more features too like customizable meteogram tabs and lightning data.

Look, the reason I even use ForecaWeatherRadar is because all other weather apps barely load because of the overbearing amount of ads. Foreca has been different in that respect.

However, I’ve recently begun experiencing ads in Foreca too. Not little banners here and there, but ads that take over the whole screen, making ForecaWeatherRadar useless. . . That needs to stop or I’m sure we will all just stop using ForecaWeatherRadar .

The FORECA iOS app is the most accurate app I use for seeing the very local weather.

It’s very simple to use and focuses only on the weather near me with minimal bells and whistles. Advertising is not intrusive and can be bypassed with a small subscription fee. My only which is that more people knew about ForecaWeatherRadar through social media.

This is by far the best weather app out there. It is accurate and gives you a ton of information. Take the time to play around with it and you will find everything you need to know about the weather. Thanks to the developers for this.

Great App, you can see all the weather details in every view, daily, hourly, etc. The interface is simple, very readable and customizable! The MeteoGram graphical presentation is very quick to read to see exactly when percipitation is coming. Thanks!!!

Sacramento Valley weather is fairly simple to predict, yet ForecaWeatherRadar that the iPhone uses by default for weather is consistently inaccurate. ForecaWeatherRadar generally predicts the temp within a couple of degrees, and usually predicts precipitation more accurately than the other.

Seems decent, but at times not overly accurate. I can live with that. Like the Meteogram. Kind of similar to Wunderground before it got ruined by IBM in Dec 2019.

Developer is very responsive and corrected the issue with widget not loading after an update almost immediately.

Suggestions to developers, mostly regarding meteogram.

1. Allow a mini version of meteogram in the widget (that’s what I miss most from the ruined Wunderground app).
2. Also, in the meteogram, it would be helpful if the nights are shaded - that will also help to get the sense of the weather at a glance.
3. Please do allow to rotate the screen on iPhone, that would help with meteogram.

What distinguishes ForecaWeatherRadar is the detailed hourly predictions it gives you a week or so in advance. If a week from now it’s going to be sunny most of the day with a passing shower in the afternoon, I like seeing that detail, including the probability of rain on an hourly basis. Accuracy seems to be good.

Foreca has the best forecast around! It’s closer than any other weather service provided by an APP. I’ve used it for several years and can make bank on what they say is going to happen! I dare you to try it out for a month!

To be honest the most accurate app I had experienced, hour by hour, even the wind speed and etc and it let us to have a better organisation when the matter is going out

I’ve purchased Accuweather, Weatherbug, and Foreca premium to remove ads, etc. I’m a weather nerd and keep switching between apps. I believe Foreca has been the most accurate, especially with predicting precipitation and when it will happen.

After WeatherUnderground became useless, I searched for an alternative. I noticed my car info system used Foreca so I checked out their app. Accurate and easy to see the week ahead at a glance. Good data and good design

One of the most accurate forecasts for my area. I found ForecaWeatherRadar from the accuracy info from Forecastadvisor. I really like how I can customize the display in ForecaWeatherRadar . Only wish it had lightning alerts.

I came across ForecaWeatherRadar when I was looking at the source of data for the Weather App in my Windows 10 PC.

I’m glad I found ForecaWeatherRadar here. It is very good with chockfull of features. The rain forecast is eerily accurate.

I like the layout. Seems more accurate in location setting than other apps I’ve tried. Also seems more accurate in weather spotting. Thanks!

This is what a weather app should be like - simple, pleasant yet interactive interface and accurate. It includes several needed functions I've found only in certain apps but Foreca includes them all in one place.

I have been using alot of weather apps. I did a comparison with all weather apps in apple store for along period of time. No weather app is as accurate as FORECA. In fact It deserves more than five stars. The only thing that ForecaWeatherRadar need is adding a widget to ios devices.

The most simple and clear weather app.
It’s not the best looking app, and there are some parts that needs to be improved but the “Meteogram” worth it all.
One quick look and you know exactly what to expect!

Thought ForecaWeatherRadar had potential but the radar is probably the worst out of any app I've tried. It doesn't zoom in nearly enough to give you a good picture of your local coverage. Most apps pinch and zoom. This one has a plus and minus button that's only good for around 2 clicks. I want to see if there are storm clouds over my neighborhood, not the entire state. Uninstalled.

It is remarkable what this little <20Mb piece can do. It have almost all features of a full-blown professional one. The only suggestion could be to add cumulative precipitation to the charts.

Everything is very good but if you can improve the satellite map provided more details about Rian and snow and less than any errors.

Meteogram does not work on iPhone 8+ and there’s no dates or times that show up on the weather maps. It’s a brilliant app

I love ForecaWeatherRadar , and I’ve been very happy with the data for my area. However, I am waiting for the ad-free version before I use ForecaWeatherRadar again. I hate ads

I wanted to love Foreca, but unfortunately, it’s inconsistent in temperatures and forecasts from all of my current weather apps. When 3 are exactly the same (4, if you include the local TV weather report) and Foreca is the exception - it’s obvious which app needs more development. Sorry guys - app deleted.
