When connecting to a Mac, whatever keyboard mapping chosen, there are still some characters that won’t work.
The field inside Remoter displays the correct characters, but when submitting to the remote computer it is then wrong.
So I can’t type a password or simply paste a URL...
Can’t you just send the string and not the corresponding key codes? What I see in remoter should be what’s the remote computer gets.
So the use is really limited and it can’t be used for “real”.
It’s sad because it could be a really nice tool, but simply because of one broken feature it goes down to 1-star.

When I bought this a few years ago it was well worth the price. I quickly bought several add-ons and was completely satisfied. The integrated ssh was exactly what I needed to access my servers from my phone.

Last year I took an upgrade to my server OS which changed something in the graphics that causes the VNC client app to fail a few seconds after connecting. Other VNC clients work fine but lack the ssh feature. Because other apps work, I tried to get support for RemoterProVNCSSHRDP; but couldn't.

There is a new version which I purchased but quickly removed because it still has the bug which makes it useless for me. In shot: it works great if it works at all; but good luck getting support if it doesn't (or stops).

I could not get public key authentication to work. The configuration dialog disappears as soon as I press the ssh key manager button. There’s seven bucks down the drain. Too bad. This used to be my go-to application to connect to remote systems. Now it appears pretty badly broken.

I’ve tried numerous times trying to get VNC to work with RemoterProVNCSSHRDP. SSH does work, but bought this for VNC. I’ve been able to easily get VNC to work with another app. I cannot recommend RemoterProVNCSSHRDP. I’ve tried to get a refund however Apple’s online refund system immediately rejects my request with no explanation. Should have known not to buy RemoterProVNCSSHRDP given zero updates in over a year. Avoid buying RemoterProVNCSSHRDP!

I had the remoter app and paid for the upgrade to have RDP. Haven’t used it in a while and when I did, there is no option for RDP when adding a session. So I purchased the pro version, and STILL no option for creating an RDP session!!!
Surely I am not the only one encountering this. Double paid and no RDP. ridiculous.

This program used to work, but not sure what happened.

I had the old program and suddenly RDP stopped working. And I had paid to upgrade to add all the features. So to try to get RDP to work I shelled out the $6.99 and despite trying everything I know, it won’t work and no response from the support email I sent last week.

Tunneling over SSH works as advertised, but relatively important keys on the iPad magic keyboard (delete, return...relatively important...) do not map properly to remote systems. The on-screen keyboard does appropriately map the keys to the remote system. This is unfortunate. Otherwise, the magic keyboard trackpad works wonderfully and the vast majority of the rest of the keys are properly mapped.

iOS 13 seems to have broken this very good app. I’ve been using it and relying on it everyday for two years to connect to multiple firewalls. No go since upgrading to iOS 13. Beware.

I took RemoterProVNCSSHRDP because it looked promising to be able to use the VNC over SSH feature. In that regard I am so far very pleased. The rest of RemoterProVNCSSHRDP leaves some to be desired. For basic SSH access I am constantly running into issues where I can’t “page up” to see everything that I need to see. There are free apps that handle the terminal interface much much better than this one.

3 out of 5 for a good VNC over SSH solution. Minus 2 stars for otherwise limited functionality. I think RemoterProVNCSSHRDP has some good promise and I hope I can adjust to 5 stars after a future update.

Here's the settings I had to use to get RDP working with the Apple Magic keyboard for iPad 12.9 running iPadOs 13.6.

Keyboard: English (US) for Mac
RDP Unicode: disabled
Root-Console: enabled

Also custom display size: 1536x960 or 1366x1024 should be options.

without these settings RemoterProVNCSSHRDP is useless, few keys and even the space bar does not work.

I'm connecting to Windows 10 workstations and servers over a VPN.

Things that still don't work with the above settings.

arrow keys type the numbers 2,4,6,8
Unable to find a way to enable insert mode

Also the special key bar options at the bottom of the screen overlays the swipe to close bar and if you try to click the overlaid function keys RemoterProVNCSSHRDP closes

Cloud Manager function to save and possibly export/import doesn’t work. Click on the menu it shows the screen and then goes white. Probably just needs to be updated to latest iOS. Pity, almost perfect.

Overall this is a really good app and works well with mac and linux boxes. Imwould give it 5 stars but for the lack of any documentation. Things like mouse control are difficult to figure out. Even when you think you understand it you find you can't do something without alot of experimentation. There is also no online help worth anything, just some FAQs, which just frustrates one even more. So only 4 stars not 5.

Like the product however hate that if I switch app and come back I have to connect again including providing the passcode to RemoterProVNCSSHRDP again.

Folks please stay alive in background and give us Face ID.

Now that T-Mobile has switched me to IPv6, unable to use with VPN.

Tried a different VNC client and it worked properly

The controls are not labeled using symbols so I’m unable to verify why the left middle and right click buttons are not working as expected.

RemoterPro has done what I needed it to do in the past, but there seems to be some issues connecting to systems via SSH with keys on newer servers that have version 3 of OpenSSL. The key exchange fails. Other than that it has been working great for years.

I use this to remote into my home PC and it works very well on my iPhone and iPad. It took a minute to configure my firewall to access the PC over the internet, but other than that it works great!

I love how it makes it feel so simple, a few machines running VNC on the LAN and a tiny SSH Linux VM let me open up the machines without and subscriptions or special stuff.

My server is pretty locked down. The only thing open is port 22 with passwords disabled. I needed a VNC client that could connect to my Mac server’s screen sharing over an ssh tunnel using a private key. Was up and running in 10 minutes. Wish all software worked this well!

I have RemoterVNC free and Pro for years. I wish I knew how to import my connections from the free into the pro though.

Going to try to get money back. Ssh gives you a tty 90 rows high, with with bottom rows and top rows off screen. Don't see any way to configure.

also no way to change font size or font.

Paid for RemoterProVNCSSHRDP and it’s DOA. Devs aren’t working on it. Website hasn’t been updated in a year at least.

Even after recent updates RemoterProVNCSSHRDP is still far too buggy to be of practical usefulness. I regret paying full price for it all those years ago. Use Microsoft RDP or RealVNC.
