Animoog for iPhone Reviews

Restoring purchases doesn’t seem to work. Usually when a double purchase is detected it normally says you already purchased this item. So far I only re-purchased one pack. I did receive an iTunes receipt.. which I was hoping wouldn’t happen. I’ve already purchased all the packs even for ipad. This has happened before when it was initially released and would restart purchases with iOS updates. I’ve been through it’s growing pains and can’t believe this is still going on. Is there crooked bookkeeping with Animoog company or is Apple the culprit in this situation?

This used to be one of the, if not THE best synth on iOS.. AUv3 came around and Moog dropped the ball on one of their better, most unique synths they have.

Without AUv3, a bunch of inferior synths on iOS are more useful than this sonic beast.

Why did Moog do this? Well, I don’t know really... but what I do know is, without an external source in which to record in, Animoog has seen its days. Yeah you can IAA with it but IAA hasn’t been too useful in a while, and that’s why Apple is getting rid of it.

With one good (AUv3) update, Animoog could well become what it once was in its former glory. Useful. But til then, it’s collecting digital dust.

I don’t understand why this is s till formatted for phones from years ago. Can you please update it for iPhone X or XS so it is actually full screen not cut short at edges? Looks good on iPhone 4S though. 🙄

Love Animoog. Lots of fun. I came to read reviews about how to turn Animoog off with the new iPhones. Swiping doesn’t seem to work. The only way to exit Animoog is to swipe or touch the top to access the dashboard and then select a different previously opened app.

A sound all it’s own. It’s like copyrighted sounds. It can’t be emulated. If you’re just starting out on your synthesizer binge purchases, add this to the list. You will use it when you just want to chill or rip the spinal cord out of a teradactyl. But it is a must to have these sounds in your synth spice rack.
Question: when was “evading question” added to the leads presets? Haha see the question mark? Oh! There it is again.

I am using it to create sound effects and background music for a movie/video, and it works fantastically! I am not a musician, and I do not play an instrument, but the touch controls for Animoog on the iPhone work so well and are so fun to use that even with total music ignorance, I can still get great sound effects and ‘music.’ Thanks for creating Animoog , and making it affordable. Highly recommended!

This is the greatest synthesizer app I have ever used! I’m not a musician at all, but I LOVE playing with Animoog! The sounds are absolutely amazing and there isn’t a sound that you can’t make!!!!
I just really want to learn how to play certain songs so I can create them. I LOVE the fact that it links up with Garage Band. That makes it a must have!!!! Thanks for a great app! I’m even considering buying the iPad version!

I got this very recently. I was just messing around with the presets, and I could feel my phone vibrating. I thought the keys had some kind of haptic feedback or something, no, it was simply from the sound coming out of my iphone speakers. That’s how much depth and fullness this has, and I expected nothing less from Moog.

If Animoog is crashing on you:
I got it working again after I removed it from my phone and re-installed it from Animoog Store. I first tried removing it through the Settings-General-Storage & rebooting the phone, but that did not work.

The low end is really good it’s important to hear the whole frequency range to enjoy the sounds this unique app can create. I also enjoy how they handle the touch sensitivity issue with the Buchla-like pads.

Sounds are nice, lush and full . For me this is the best synth on AppStore. Interface is really easy to get used to and playing even on a small screen iPhone is fun

Would love for Moog to upgrade it slightly. Even if it’s just to fit Animoog to the new iPhones screen. But overall such a fun app.
