Nothing in the game has anything to do with game play. There are no instructions on how to play the game just how to navigate around the board and place buildings. All details on real game play must be researched extensively, which leaves no time for the actual game. Forums are useless due to lack of structure or query capability. In game player vs player never allows you to mark a players location therefore you can never return to finish the fight. Events that are 4 days long are normally finished in one day. Items are up for sale constantly but they never indicate which items are totally useless or identify needed items as must have. In game communication has to be done through a second party app which takes you away from the game. Together with leaving the game to talk, identify items, look for players you want to fight, Forums, FAQs, the majority of the game experience is spent logged out of the game. In game money serves no purpose. Nothing of value can be purchased with in game money only real world cash works in this game.

Game has lots of lag, when using gold/gems that you buy there buttons are so close together that sometimes you spending what you don’t want to. Lag is a huge part of it. They really need to do some upgrades because I feel like you just spent more for the same thing over and over and more because game just gets little harder for same thing. The battles are almost back to back and it’s a little to much. You don’t have much free time with the game. Again lag huge problems.

Could be a great game, but it's rigged. They have these limited time challenges where all of the parts other than the final one are doable, albeit difficult, but then the last part is so difficult that the only way to get it done in time is to spend real $$$. Without spending real $, all you do is waste time trying to find a worthy opponent you can win in-game gold from, but they've all already been depleted because of the slooooww level up for gold producing buildings and the fact that the game has all these built-in limits so you can't do anything without spending real money. And there are long load times every time you go to check out whether a rival has any gold to be taken.

It's one thing for a game to be a time waster if you're playing, but this one you just waste time waiting.

Finally, it's glitchy. Am having to reinstall constantly because the new version crashes all the time and then won't relaunch unless you reinstall. Ain't nobody got time for dat!

I started out this game for fun with my family. It always was joyful on earth weekend for all of us to be gathered in a room and be working against another guild. It steadily began to get worse with gree, but now I am finding since deca took over it has gotten even worse. My family’s guild gets put up against guilds way too high for us, when we have a reasonable guild we don’t know if we’ve won or not, because somehow they can hide their scores. This last war happened an hour ago and we were ahead 30,000 points with one minute left and there was only 5 of them. I don’t know how you can score 90,000 points in less than a minute, but they managed to. That isn’t the only time it’s happened either. On my screen it showed we were only 6,000 behind them yet lost by 30,000. Were the scores just that late in showing up, is there that bad of lag, or can you hide your scores? I don’t know any of those answers, but if you want a “fun” free game, this IS NOT THE GAME.

Been playing this game for years now, and lately during guild wars we've (our guild) have been put up against guilds that are impossible to beat. Needs to be a fair fight and pretty much evenly matched.😐 Glad you finally fixed the lagging problem with the game. I'll give you one more star for that. But as far as guild wars go, it's still an issue. Fix that and I'll give you your fifth star.

Major lag time in logging in and it's not the wifi or the phone. There's also a freeze when fighting other players. Game will freeze up during an attack on another player. Have to log out then log back in. Very time consuming. Was going to give fifth star but not with this going on.

I could go on and on. I really liked this game a lot. But the issues others have mentioned of years of begging the devs to fix lag and glitches goes unanswered. It takes no less than two min to log in and many times more than that. They have given us nice refills but if you can’t get in to play on time during wars events etc what fun is that? I have written to devs over the years and these issues can’t seem to be taken care of. After playing this game for over 6 years a new soporto dude told me to reinstall the game and that would fix it all. I did one last reinstall. And guess what. It didn’t improve anything. STILL forever waits to log in play the game switch screens etc etc. I could go on but I will just say that this game is a great disappointment.

Good game in the beginning, but very time consuming. New events start 1 hour after the previous one ends, plus multiple events occur simultaneously and you need to keep up to stay competitive. Also they place buttons for attacking right over use gold so you end up wasting gold all the time by accident. So you have to do the repetitive tasks slowly to try to avoid it. If I hadn’t had so many hours invested I might have quit already like many have in our faction. You should be able to play less than one hour per day, and it would be fun. I spend at least 6 hours per day in the game, and I have multiple accounts.

I have played game for over 8 years now and only play for the community. I have met some great people. Since Deca took over they keep telling players that the issues will be fixed. Now they are telling players that it is too costly to fix the game because of lack of revenue. Revenue has dropped over the years because players getting tired of all the issues within the game. Lag is terrible so you get the game to freeze; events not working properly; glitches etc. you need to spend a lot of money to be competitive. The game is on its last leg and now Deca is probably going to have more wars which the community is totally against.

Game is fraught with hackers and is terribly expensive to play if you want to succeed at quests and be strong. Reminds me of unlicensed gambling with low chances of success without spending a lot of real money to try to win something based on slim chances. If you do not pay to play You are food for the hackers or predators that pay thousands a month to boost their stats. Quests are impossible to complete without real money being used. Game was banned from Japan so they moved to USA and merged with Funzio. Game should be banned by Apple and investigated for manipulation, hackers and exorbitant charges to play like gambling without control or support and full cash refunds since hacking was discovered.

I’ve been playing this game for about 4 years now. There is an incredible amount of fun and addictive play for such a simple game . Unfortunately, lately and during the last several years, the support and gameplay has become very stagnant and unbelievably horrible.
Unless you have a vast fortune to spend on “gold”, don’t bother trying to become a force in this game. It’s all about how much gold you buy in order to become successful in this game. On top of that, the lag is unbelievable, you can’t even play the game without being kicked out several times,
Save yourself the money and don’t bother playing

I LIKE this game and its basic precepts and concepts ! I wish i had found it when it began !
It has , after the 3 and a 1/2 years I have been playing it , certain probs with overlays in / on quests ( overcrowding data maybe ) which REALLY slow dwn game button response and performance , which i hope the programmers will eventually vercome . But i am most certainly ALWAYS going to have this game on my old Ipad 2 !

Been playing this game for over 8 years. It’s not that the game is that entertaining but the friends you make while playing the game. Guilds are used with up to 60 members from all over the world. We all talk everyday and therefore have numerous people to help improve how to play. Most use GroupMe to communicate.

Been playing for six years and very pleased new owner, DECA, if making great strides to fix the issues and problems the Previous owner GREE refused to fix. They finally fixed the dreaded lag which was a huge issue and cost the game lots of players. It is very rewarding to see new things / updates added and players who quit start playing again. Keep up the good job DECA!

I have played Modern War for almost 7 years. Gree had scammed me numerous times. One time I was locked out of the game for 6 months. I sent in many trouble tickets and they never fixed the problem. Finally, an update fixed it. I had lost strength in the game and ranking. Gree refused to compensate me. I keep playing because I have many friends on in my faction from all over the World. My friends all have been screwed by Gree's never ending bait and switch tactics. They promise rewards if you reach certain goals and never give them to you. Stay away.

This game is a sorry excuse of a game. You have to spend a sheet load of money to even compete. They can’t even schedule you for a competitive war within 1min therefore to compete for top prize is impossible. Apple do your job and ban this crap of a game. Apple All you care about is the money your making off this rip off of a game. Stop being GREEdy and ban the game idiots. Over 1hr and you schedule me against an opponent who is over 100 time my strength ummmm ok “stuupid” that’s fair! go f!!! yourself greedy developers. Apple get your act together and ban these fools.

You need to fix the lag issue. It is terrible .. Plus I get tired of watching the circle go around and around due to the slowness of the game .. And the game needs to be updated. The items to buy in the store are so so outdated . Is a great game but the systems problems we have had to put up with for 5 months is not good.

I like the game however the lock box event is a total JOKE.. I am lucky to get 6-8 boxes during the event.. There needs to be better hits when using cash for a hit to get a prize . I am very tired of seeing better luck next time.. You guys at Gree need to work on improving rewards when one uses game cash.. Thanks

Sure CC has issues, all games do. But I can say this... I've been playing since the beginning and I find it user friendly, entertaining, and the support team helpful and fair. The game has matured well and I'm excited to see more.🙂

I’ve asked for 6 months to fix an issue that every time and prestige, normal or master mission something happened and lost my energy points and I am not able to finish until I get out the game and log in back again I been loosing a lot of good rewards because of that issues am tired of this and every time I have it I contact them by email and so far till now there is still have not solve it........

I’ve been playing about 4 years. The lag times have really improved since the last update. The free gold helps but it’s relative because everyone gets it. I do enjoy my faction friends from around the world.
