App meets most all expectations.

One aspect which needs immediate reinstatement is the news page advance button. It was eliminated, during FairbanksDailyNewsMiner update, except when the screen was touched to show the button. The previous version of FairbanksDailyNewsMiner was better in that the button was always visible and there was no chance of inadvertently tapping the fast forward button below the single-page button.

The updated app is a major improvement over the previous app. The previous app was frustrating to use the phone but worked fairly well on the PC.

I enjoy reading the paper from wherever I am. But I find FairbanksDailyNewsMiner cumbersome and finicky at times. Seems like it could be more user friendly. It especially needs to allow enlargement of the print better, sometimes the print just stays blurry in big block sections.

The read mode is clunky and word wrap doesn’t work leaving some split words on screen.

I enjoy keeping up on local news and events using the News-Miner app. I especially like the feature that will read an article so I can multitask.

I like the local coverage and especially the weather/daylight almanac

After having worked in the Fairbanks and Healey areas over the years, it is nice to keep up with the local news.

It’s nice to have the News-Miner always available in the electronic format. I use is occasionally at home, but there I have the paper edition. It’s when I travel, in or out of state that I really enjoy haven’t the e-edition. Thanks.

I love my app for the Fairbanks Daily News Miner. I can read it at any time of day or night with no large stack of papers laying around. Support our home time paper-it’s the best record of written Fairbanks history. That needs to continue.

I’ve been using FairbanksDailyNewsMiner for about two weeks and think it’s great. I use this e-edition link and read the paper like its still on newsprint. A click will expand eachvprint article or ad in an easy to read sidebar. You can go back to editions you missed very easily, and accessing comics and the tv page is simple. Since we can’t get cable, the tv pages in the Thursday Latitude are very important They are easily expanded to be able to read, or it can be downloaded and printed.

I saw the negative reviews before I downloaded and had to think twice. I don’t know what it was like a year ago, but even with our slow internet, it’s great. I only wish I had changed to e edition sooner,

I love FDNM and FairbanksDailyNewsMiner works well on my iPhone. Great photos and coverage of Local and state news. I’m glad I also get the paper version though as iPhone is too small for
Senior citizen’s eyes even if print can be made larger. Great for a quick survey. Thank you.

FairbanksDailyNewsMiner updated in the last week or so, and is now a way better reading experience. Navigation for the e-edition is improved, and many of the glitches that took away from reading the paper are gone. Thanks.

I love having the digital Newsminer app as I can always keep up with home town news wherever I go. Also great to use the archive function to look up things from the past.

My wife gets the printed version first, but I can read the digital version while waiting!

I have 86 apps on my iPhone 12. 85 work, this one doesn’t. Worst ever. When the e-edition finally appears, you invariably end up on a blank page & have to start over if you change the page or enlarge an article. I usually have to close it completely, start over and see if I can finally read the paper. The website edition is fine, FairbanksDailyNewsMiner is so frustrating I’m tempted to cancel the whole paper.

We really enjoy being able to electronically receive our local news when we travel and spend time with family and friends so we can stay abreast of our community that is near and dear to us and also get paper when we are home. Also my husband looks forward to the Suduko everyday and it has become a family competition on who can finish it first.

I read the electronic version of the print edition daily on my iPhone and it has improved since starting a couple years ago. It opens relatively quickly and navigating is easy. There is a minimum of glitchiness and random jumping around like some sites. If I do want to click on the reader version of the article, it loads quickly and is easy to revert back to the newspaper version. I like that older editions are available, too.

Fairbanks Daily Newsminer provides many positive stories about families in Alaska. It’s just not a negative newspaper like many I’ve read. It’s also not one sided politically anymore. They need this to balance and appease all the readers. If I don’t agree with something I’m reading I just skip the article. I enjoy the positive stories and beautiful photos. Proud to be a resident of Fairbanks and very happy to support the Fairbanks Daily Newsminer. I’ve been a subscriber since 1985. I thank you for all your hard work in keeping this paper alive in our community! Susan Hoover

I have been using the FDNM app for several years without any major issues. Much preferred over a paper copy. Many times in the past I would walk down to the mailbox and the paper hadn’t shown up yet. Very frustrating! Now it’s always online and available for reading wherever I am (in Fairbanks or not). I like being able to email or text articles to myself or others easily. I hope FDNM continues to provide local news well into the future.
