Takes too long to load

I use this app a lot and I love it. There are many times, I am in a line to buy something, open this app to scan and it takes way too long before I can click pay. It shows many notifications to link my bank, loads all the offers and what not and feels very sluggish. This ruins the the otherwise great experience of instance payment that this app offers.

Most pathetic customer service

The product might be ok but the customer service is the absolute worst. I wish I could give them negative stars. I’ve been trying to redeem my funds for the past 2 months and it hasn’t happened yet. They take ages to respond, and when they do, they just blurt out the process steps without coming to a solution or understanding my problems. I’ve sent two dozen emails, and phone calls don’t help either. I’ve also contacted them on Facebook and Twitter, but with no success.

This company is a perfect representation of yesteryear government babu-like employees who are lazy, do not like to work, will not help the customer at any cost, take no pride in their work, and live ordinary lives.

Give it 10-15 years, and they will all be replaced by bots, and they will be out on the streets. I absolutely hate this company from the bottom of my heart and wish for its downfall.

UI glitches and notifications abuse

Paytm feels like a mobile web version instead of a native app. It’s perhaps not a native UIKit or SwiftUI app but cheap React Native or something. Not saying using those frameworks is bad but using those and not providing a great experience is definitely bad and that’s on developer, not framework provider. Many times the parts of Paytm UI go under status bar and/or homebar making me think it ignores SafeArea insets.

Paytm sends me promotional notifications even though I have unchecked all types of notifications in Paytm setting. I still receive spam notifications. This is clearly an abuse of Push Notifications and I’ll be reporting it.

Apart from all that really bad UX and malpractices, Paytm does the job, mostly, so 3 stars.

Third class, hopeless app

I want to say that this app is one useless app. I have done KYC. First thing I don't understand, why does this app want to gather my biometrics while doing KYC while Aadhaar has already done KYC.

Secondly, pertaining to app functionality, even after doing KYC, viz attaching Aadhaar & PAN details, whenever I open app and go to "Add money" it asks me to "Complete KYC". When I click on this, it says, " Great! Go shopping". After clicking on that, it takes me back to "Complete KYC", and here it teaches me a lesson on recursion for the next 10 minutes. THIRD CLASS BULLOCKS APP!!

Then again, in spite having of having money in this app, it will show zero whenever I want to make payments.

Don't wanna waste time writing more on bugs in this stupid app.

I use iOS 11, BTW.

Edit 1 -> Oh yes there's one more error I get very very frequently, which interrupts me a lot while making payments - "A server with the specified host name could not be found".

This particular error has landed me in very embarrassing situations in front of my peers when I offered to pay for treats.

This error is shown only on this app. No other app on my iPhone has harassed me so much. I use the only few selected WiFi's most of the time.

Good app but buggy

It used to be a very good app with good cash back and instant posting of the bills.

1. Now there's no more cash back offers on postpaid bills (both on App/ Web). All I see is "Lucky 200" or some crappy offer.

2. Why is the "Fast forward" a default option when making payment? So you don't want your users to apply for cashback promo codes and by pass them directly to payment?!?

3. Why is that everytime when I select a biller (For exa: Vodafone postpaid) and proceed to payment, I'm logged out and prompted for login. Then I login with my cached credentials to proceed further. This happens for every bill that I do on website.

4. Why is Paytm or website unable to fetch details of my bills most of the times? This happens with BSNL and TNEB bills every time.

5. Why the heck does Paytm is not updating? It shows in App Store that an update is ready but Paytm won't update when I click "Update" button. It doesn't even progress.

I'm using iPhone X running on IOS 12.1.2

Money added in Gift voucher

Last week I tried to add money to my this app Wallet but was not allowed pending KYC renewal. When I tried again, it allowed me to add money but this got added to Gift Voucher without any warning or questions. We cannot transfer money from Gift voucher to individuals who are not merchants. Now my money has got stuck in Gift voucher and I am forced to spend it through some transactions with merchants. This is not fair and makes me feel cheated. Also another observation was that I was not allowed to transfer money to someone from my Bank account just because I am using iPhone 6. This is really frustrating! When other apps allow, why is this app making it difficult?

Passbook feature needs update

Overall App experience is very good but I have problem with Passbook feature. All the transactions are in order from older to recent which makes no sense. I have to swipe all the way down to see my recent transaction and there is no filter option to change this order. Another problem is all the transactions have same dates in passbook so we can’t figure which are new and which are old. Ofcourse, we can check the transaction dates in “My Order” tab but then what’s the use of Passbook?!

KYC hasn’t been working for months

KYC hasn’t been working for months so Paytm and service are quite useless. You can’t load money into the this app wallet without KYC, and there’s nothing you can do with the service without loading money into it.

What’s worse is that Paytm description doesn’t inform you about any of these problems. It tells you it allows KYC but that doesn’t work. It tells you to open a this app bank account but when you try to do that you get a message that no new accounts are being opened at this time. This has also been going on for months.

The least that this app should do if they can’t get their service working is to correct Paytm description.

Horrible experience with Paytm and customer support

I transferred money to my friend via this app UPI pay, Paytm displayed that the transfer was successful right away but my friend did not receive the money.

The customer service was horrible despite me providing them the information they wanted, they did not have the technical capability to download an attachment despite me sending it to them multiple times. After 2 weeks they are demanding the latest statement! All they want to do is close ticket without a resolution.

You are better off using a traditional bank for online transfers. Faster and reliable!!

Great app

Team, iam impressed with the way how app works can you please make sure that you have more banks included in your list to link bank accounts as I could manually link my banks as its not listed in your list.
Some of banks I have are discover, American Express, Barclays debit and capital one.
Please try to include them so we can link our accounts.

Needs a lot of improvement

I don’t know for my user authentication, why should I be going to a this app Center or get a support person to verify my Aadhar.

The second problem is if I put my Aadhar Id Paytm is not able to identity it and if I provide the Virtual Id, it ask me to visit a centre. Someone should be looking at it and fixing it. In this digital age, people should not have to run to the Center’s to authenticate themselves.

Recharging a mobile plan and paying via Credit Card/password way fails the recharge. This also needs a fix.

Worst app ever, lost Rs. 2,000 ($30)

Had to collect a payment so I received it on this app. Rs. 2,000

Turns out you can’t actually use the balance you have in your this app account unless you go through a full KYC process.

I uploaded my Aadhar Card, passport, and Pan card number and tried to do the Video verification.

The video didn’t load and after waiting for a few minutes the guy just hung up. I was in the chat room for less than 10 seconds.

I tried again and waited for 10 minutes in the virtual line. This time the video loaded. I didn’t have the physical copy of my pan card. Paytm has an option to do KYC verification without the pan card so I asked if he could proceed with that approach, but he just hung up.

I guess it’s standard practice to just hang up on people when you are trying to get their business.

Now my money is just sitting there. I would like my $30 back.

Spam account opened using my email

I have just received an email saying someone opened an account using a mobile number and my email address in India. But because I do not live in India, I have been trying to close this account or let the customer support know the issue. Problem is Paytm only lets you login using a phone number and the number used was from India. So now I don’t have that number and this spammer is now using my email address to open an account. Paytm makes it impossible to reset my password also so no one can use that email. Do not use Paytm.

It take ages to get refund

It take ages literally to get eticket booking refund. One has to send messages in chat several times and attach bank statements in support of the refund several times. It’s almost a month now yet I haven’t received my refunds. I’m waiting and checking my bank account but of no avail. I’m really frustrated now. I wonder whether they are fraud or what. I will complain it to consumer grievance site if they not return my hard earned money.

How did they got 4.7 rating when most of the reviews are in negative. I’m doubtful of the rating.

Stealing data

I logged in after several months on an iPhone. And Paytm FORCES me to give it my location permission!
Apparently, this is to ensure security. I use other other banking apps and no one does this.
What’s strange is that this app have a button at the top right which says “Deny.” When you press this you are told that you can’t proceed without granting them location access!
It looks like they’re trying to hoodwink Apple and customers. Guys know that they are just trying to steal your data. There’s no way we should be having to share our location info.
Let’s BOYCOTT Paytm!

Bank transfer is super interesting

Have been using this app for long time. Wallet was useful and by adding money ; could pay at many places.
Now this new bank transfer feature is icing on cake. Have used it , works fast and simple.

Just link, bank account , and a bank transfer or pay.

Very good app except for one issue

Paytm is excellent. It's a one-stop shop for payments. But there's one thing as an iPhone user I would like to see. I have sweaty palms. I like to use Touch ID. In your app if Touch ID doesn't respond to fingerprints due to sweaty hands, I get locked out of Paytm . This is bad design. Please enable the user to enter iPhone passcode as a fallback mechanism. I have seen many other apps do this. If this is implemented, 5 stars

Pathetic customer support

Never ever shop on this app mall. If by chance you need to contact support then you are gone. Firstly Paytm wont allow to contact support in person and would give system generated options to raise your query. And refund wont be credited so you need to contact support. Finally when you figure out a way to reach customer support they will say sorry i am not able to see that you coordinated with us on chat. And now refund can’t be processed. Wow!! What a support!

Terrible support and communication

I am trying to use this app postpaid but the moment I click on its icon I get an error message ‘could not get response from our server ‘ . Upon contacting the support team they

First, asked to me send the the screen shot which I did but it never resolved the issue
Second , they asked to reinstall app which also did not fix issue .

Third , they ask me to record video and upload via app. I get error message about file extension When I tried to i upload the video via app.

Now, they ask to me send video via email to ‘this app care’ which I sent three to four times.
Every time I send the video , I get an auto reply that mailbox is not monitored .

I sent the screen shot of my sent item , their auto reply to support but they kept saying send the video . This is frustrating

Problem with latest update

Hi, it seems there is a problem with the latest update to Paytm on iPhone 6. Not able to open individual previous orders and not able to place new orders via Search option.

Not sure what is going on.
