Cannot Duplicate Glitch

There WAS a minor glitch that allowed a person to send two requests- one for a take back and then for a draw request. The pop up would display properly for the first take back request, so then only if the opponent selects review board, thinking himself reviewing the board after being asked for a take back, is not inclined to read the second pop up and would likely assume it is in reference to the original request. But it is the secondary draw request and if absentmindedly accepted, then a losing player dodges defeat and unfairly a rated loss.

It happened to me twice before.

Good, but there’s a bit of a glitch

Me and my friend have played about seven matches, and they all end the same. Someone loses all their pieces except their king, and the game won’t let the other person get it. So the person with the king is only allowed to move to a safe spot on the board, and if there are and extra pieces, they cannot be touched or moved. Please fix this. I hope it’s just a glitch or something, but it’s really annoying when someone has to either resign or offer a draw. Thank you, and other wise, it’s a great app.

Great app

I would be remiss if I don't share the only problem. When u want to move your piece then it asks are you sure then you would then click on the yes or no. Problem KS as you go to select yes and your opponent sends a draw request it pops up and you hit yes . No way to fix it, your intent was just to hit yes to move, not for a draw! Then u can't undo the draw . Happened to me 4 times. Then last you can't contact anyone for help. But is the best chess app

Excellent app, but could use improvements

Great app! So good, I feel compelled to suggest improvements.

The main feature I use is the Analyze feature, which is two clicks, not one, from the main playing screen. I rarely use Moves, which is one click. Switch them!

More importantly, when I do use Moves, usually during a postmortem, but also occasionally during games, there's no way to put an intermediate position automatically into Analyze so that I can easily experiment with what-would-have-happened-if. The small amount of programming needed to transfer positions from Moves to Analyze would really enhance ChessTime .

Phenomenal minus the ads

This game is amazing. Cross Platform Play!!!! Lots of options and customization. The reason why this isn’t 5 Star is because of the Ads! Not the ones that are always moving and distracting you at the bottom while playing, but the ads that take over your whole screen, make the screen black, and put the advertisement at a horizontal line in the middle! WTH! Why?? Why would you do that when I am in the middle of thinking a few minutes ahead. So distracting!!! 😥

Only 16 reviews? I'll add one.

I love ChessTime. I use it every day, playing chess with my friends and various strangers across the world. It's got everything I can imagine a chess app would need, from chat to various analytical tools to help you game different scenarios and improve your abilities. Highly recommend!

Reliable, Cool, Free!

Great app. No bells and whistles, no barrage of notifications, no bells and whistles. Options for days when it comes to taking back moves, looking at old games, experimenting with moves, setting the terms of a future game, and having a friends list. Good stuff, recommend highly.

Great Chess App

Such an awesome chess app! I’ve been on ChessTime for almost 10 years now, and I still play, or try to play 30 games at a time! Pick your rivals through your friends list and over time you Will see how explosive players can be and learn how to combat those critical moves.

Great Chess App

Really Great Game

Pretty sure this is the first review I’ve ever done but this game is absolutely fantastic! I tried several different multiplayer chess games with some friends of mine but this one far surpasses the others. Then, to make it even better, it’s cross platform! I wish I could give this game 10 stars!

Awesome Platform

I really like this chess platform, and it has helped me get back into the game. I do, however, think it would be nice to have the option for short time limits such as 10 minutes per turn. Currently it only allows for as short as 1 day per turn.

Worth it

I’ve been able to keep in touch with great friends of mine by ChessTime. We’ve been playing consistently for a year and now I’m 200 miles away we still have the grid to look forward too.

This app gives you Chess Time

No really thats what’s so good about it. Don’t have time to play a whole 30min game? Start up chess time and play throughout the day or week. I Don’t have time to play Lichess games all day or at work but i can move a piece here and there and still have the love of the game

I’ve been using ChessTime for 10years, 2012 was my first game. Hard to believe id still be on the same app 10 years later but chess has been around a lot longer without any real changes. Great all around app and have made many friends around the world! Highly recomend

Great app for playing chess with others

I wanted an app to play Chess with both people I know and people I don’t. Chess Time fills that bill. No distractions no complicated procedures, quick set up and find people to play or invite family and friends. Have enjoyed playing, thanks for a great app.

Boost player’s intro greeting

I believe if the developer add to the invite link with a larger handshake emoji to pop up to start a game on both sides (game won’t start until the handshake) it will bring a little more respect and integrity back into the game by a small percentage and bring higher traffic and become most talked about because no one else is doing it. I started using the handshake emoji in 2013 a few years back and 50% of my games return the hand shake. We lose time on the board implementing the initial handshake before each game.

Great, No frills, Chess App for Playing Real Opponents

This is probably my most used chess app. It’s super easy to use and I love playing against friends, or random people from all over the world. Love the time limit option, and the in game chat is great.

Side note, I’d definitely pay a couple dollars to get a premium version without the ugly banner ad the bottom.

Love it! Developers please read

Ive been playing this on and off for a few years and its the best chess game ive ever played online, hey guys!! Can you also make a short timed game so people can play head to head and finish a game in one sitting, like a 2 minute timer or something, its the only thing that is lacking, id love to play a quick full game when i have the time! I usually play 7day for when life happens but sometimes we are ready to play straight through, thanks again 🤩🤩🤩

Great, reliable chess app

I had used this chess app a year ago, then picked it back up with all the stay at home health safety necessary rules.

My friend also installed ChessTime after I invited him recently. We had a fun game going and stayed connected during this crisis. Next thing I know, I am playing David chess players all over the world.

When I was younger, I had hosted a chess B.B.S. (Dial up modem) before the Internet. ChessTime is modernized, has a good ranking and invite system, and is easy to see with or without reading glasses.

Back to 5 star! Was the reverse move setting

I had put in a one star review out of frustration for an apparent abrupt UI change. Was great to see the Developer response next day. They did not get defensive, they figured out what the issue was, guided me to a setting that fully resolved my issue and thanked me for years of time with them. I also figured out I had inadvertently toggled that setting. I really appreciated such a fast and professional response to a review. I am back to loving ChessTime.

Superb Chess Experience

Having been a gamer since the early 1980’s I’ve played on a wide variety of platforms. I’ve been playing chess for a few decades now and always wanted the ability to not only play with fellow chess enthusiasts, but with people from around the world.

Chess time delivers on many different levels with regard to user interface, in game customization adjustments, and interacting with chess players globally.

ChessTime allows you personal investment into each and every game as you can chose to play rated games which can increase or decrease your player rating which really adds depth to the experience of playing online. Additionally, you can invite all your friends who enjoy chess to ChessTime and play on a mobile device throughout the day, making downtime much more exciting as you can access active games and talk smack to your opponents.

This is the best chess app on mobile devices period.

Thanks for the GREAT app

And a huge thank you for continuing to honor those of us who purchased the PRO version for an ad-free experience even after the premium options were recently introduced. 👍👍👍 I’ll stick with Chess Time because of your integrity and the terrific app
