Very Useful App

This is the most useful app I have found in MillerWeldSettingCalculator Store for welding. I do a lot of stick and TIG welding. With stick welding MillerWeldSettingCalculator gives you the correct settings to use on a particular electrode. You just select the type of metal welding to, the type of electrode and size used, then you get all kinds of information on how to weld with that rod.

With TIG welding you select the type of metal welding, select gauge of metal and what type of weld. Now you get information on type polarity you need to run, tungsten to use and size, cup size, filler metal size, and amperage to use too. MillerWeldSettingCalculator even tells you how fast you should be laying down your welds.

I’d have to say MillerWeldSettingCalculator is one you can’t live without especially if you are new to welding. MillerWeldSettingCalculator will help any new welder with setup and will help you with needed information on how to weld. I give MillerWeldSettingCalculator two thumbs up without any doubts. Try it you will love it.

Best Reference Please keep updated

By Far the best reference - I buy Miller welding products in part because of their customer care and follow up and great educational and reference apps. This is more important in this new electronic age.
Grow with it or get out. This is why Miller has a change to keep on top.
Dear Miller, please keep apps updated so we can keep viewing them even as reference and add little new perks like clicks to direct links to learn more. but it is important to have a app as complete as possible due to there is little mobil signal in metal buildings and “ quick” reference at work is great.

I hope MillerWeldSettingCalculator developer reads this and keeps updating and bug squashing for the new ios and other carries.

As long as Miller has apps (reference and edu) like these to use your products apps and such with good quality.
I then will be a loyal user and purchaser of Miller Products. I do feel the new generation will expect nothing but this stuff from the best and Miller will put the rest far behind.

Happy Customer
thanks also for a selling tough lasting products with great support.

thanks!

Helps

I am new to mig welding and MillerWeldSettingCalculator helps a lot. Gives me a starting point to work from. They need to make the text larger. Lots of empty space that could be filled with larger font, would keep me from needing to use reading glasses for the super small text. Also why no 0.030 wire info?

Love it!

I love the weld setting calculator it has helped me a lot in school. The only problem I have with it is that I would love to see a gmawp option and that's why I gave it a 4 out of 5. Other than that it's great!

I like it, but...

Recommended voltage and wire speed are not given in a way that is useful on my specific MILLER welder (the 130XP). Example: recommended wire speed is given in inches per minute, but the range on my welder is just a unit-less 0 to 100 scale. Same with voltage - it recommends in volts, but my welder is just a 0 to 4 setting. This seems like a huge (but fixable) mistake.

Outstanding

Near flawless with all of the set up information you need to get started on something new. I'd pay for this.

Works great

Thank you chucke2009 I heard you talking about this on your ask me anything ep, this saves me a lot of guess work. Great for newbies or novice. Perfect addition to any welders arsenal.

Its O.K

Some of the mig and flux cored settings are incorrect and they give you them with a 75/25 gas mix, SO STUPID! Other than that it can be helpful if you wanna know what polarity and amperage to run tig or different stick electrodes.

Missing info

I just downloaded the new upgrade and under stick welding it gives the rod size and not the thickness of the piece to be welded?

Needs something

It would be helpful if you could pick what position you are welding so you can adjust the amperage. Hopefully miller adds that.

Great for quick amp settings.

Needs a Lot

I downloaded MillerWeldSettingCalculator looking for heat input in joules and maybe some parameters. The smallest stuff being welded is 20mm with 1.2mm dual shield. Not a lot of help here.

Wow!

What a great tool!!!

A must for beginners

I'm VERY new to welding and have trouble remembering polarity and current/voltage settings for different rods.
MillerWeldSettingCalculator is always at the ready when I go to practice. Descriptions are clear and don't muddy things up with brand name designations in the charts.
Miller gained a customer with me. Got my bobcat 225 last week and I'm comfortable with MillerWeldSettingCalculator at my side.

Not very useful at ALL!

Ok, I use the cardboard Miller calculators from time to time to get a general starting point so I thought it would be handy to have it on my iPod. However, MillerWeldSettingCalculator does not work if you are not connected to the Internet at all. If I enable WiFi on my iPod Touch MillerWeldSettingCalculator works fine. As soon as I turn off the WiFi MillerWeldSettingCalculator says "Network is not available. Miller."

Too bad Miller. You had a chance to get it right and you blew it. I have a garage full of blue welders and that won't change but you really screwed the pooch on this one.

Eric
